  1. Well, here is part two of my tough guy tribute. I find its time to cover some of the remaining tough guys in the VHL and a look to some newcomers coming from the E and M. Last time we covered heavy hitters and PIM leaders Vinny Detroit, Baxter Arcanum, Jared Carter the 2st, Jake Thunder, and Hard Markinson. TAVISH DEGROOT: DeGroot has shown year after year that he plays a nasty game. Ever since being a hightly touted rookie in the VHLM he plays a tough defensive defenseman game. He finished the S85 campaign 3rd in overall PIMs with 183 while still adding 19 goals 49 assists and 68 points. He notched 227 hits and 137 blocked shots. He has continued his violent ways in the playoffs and is currently the PIM Leader with 42. MIROSLAV TSAROV: Another name that took us by surprise is Prague’s monster defenseman Tsarov. At 608 250 he is a massive pain for opposing forwards. Formerly an offensive beast with Malmo he has taken a new role in Prague and had 181 PIMS and 237 hits this season, both career high marks. Entering his 5th season it will be interesting to see if this trend continues. Either way, he will be a problem for teams in the future. DARON NESBITT: A season 83 drafti pick and another massive defenseman he has hit the VHL by force, literally. The Helsinki Dman notched 172 PIMS and 232 hits and an amazing 222 blocked shots. Nesbitt can play too tallying 9 goals and 33 assists. As Helsinki re-builds look for Nesbitt to play a huge part. Saku Kotkakoivu: Ok so Saku is not in the top 10 in PIMS and is on this list. Let me tell you why. 294 x 2! Saku has totals of 294 hits for two seasons in a row which is impressive. BUT! He also notched 40 goals this year as well to go with 118 PIM. However willing Saku is to fight the way he plays it makes way more sense to keep him on the ice punishing opposing players and lighting the lamp. With 85 TPE in checking I am excited to see his numbers next year. BRIAN PAYNE: OK so Payne is me and I hate talking about myself but I need a few more words for 500!!! . Payne has led the league in PIMS two season in a row with 246 PIM this year and 210 PIM last year. Enough about Payne. Now let’s chat about some potential up and comers in the VHLE who might step into an enforcer role next season or beyond: JEFF BUFFY -GENEVA Jeff is another hulking defenseman who consistently plays a tough game. With PIM totals of 238, 252, and 157 in the last three seasons and averaging about 300 hits a season he is nasty. Drafted by Prague with the 43rd overall spot in S82 CHARLES WILLIAMS- ISTANBUL Ok…Williams stepped up this year on a struggling club and produced some pretty great numbers. 31 goals 27 assists, 149 PIM and a whopping 324 hits. Drafted by Malmo where other tough players like Mo Probert and Jared Carter the 2st can mentor him into a legit enforcer if he chooses to get to VHL soon. At 306 TPE he might take another season in the E to polish up his knuckles. 566
  2. Good games and good luck in cup finals
  3. The European conference final as begun and the Warsaw Predators team finds themselves in an unfamiliar spot, down two games to a powerful Moscow club. Both games were close, both went to overtime, and both times Moscow’s goalie, Papa Emeritus stopped Warsaw’s onslaught to edge Warsaw out. In game 1, Emeritus stopped 46 of 47 shots and Moscow pumped 66 shots on Warsaw’s all-star goalie, Wumbo. Both clubs played excellent team defense and showed why they are the two best clubs in the conference. In game 2, more of the same. Low penalties and another defensive showcase by both clubs. Emeritus remains undefeated these playoff stopping 44 of 45 shots. Future Hall of Famer Hard Markinson sniped the game winner at 1:03 in overtime. Going forward the Predators will have to make a few adjustments to get some traffic in front of Papa to get some pucks past. With the offensive talent Warsaw has we hope to see them come alive and get back into this competitive series.
  4. Sorry can’t hear you. My championship ring sometimes makes me hard of hearing. . Good series buddy. See ya next season, wish us luck.
  5. Player Name: Brian Payne Render: Scott Stevens Team: Warsaw Predators Thank you!!!!!
  6. Today on a whim I was browsing through the VHL forum and started looking at records. I came across the hit records and began to wonder. Can they ever be broken in today’s VHL?? The current hits in a season record is held by Gabriel McAllister in S61 with a massive total of 461 hits. Most of the top 25 in hits occurred before S80. The exceptions are tied for 12th, Druss Deathwalker in S82 with 413, Phil the Rock Johnson in 20th place with 403, and Druss Deathwalker again tied for 17th with 404 in S84. So, 2 players were able to crack that 400 mark and make the top 25. Seems like 461 in insurmountable in today’s game. Even Davos tough guy and massive hitter, Vinny Detroit got 382 this year and he was almost 90 hits ahead of the #2 hitter in S85. Currently Detroit has 96 BC TPE and 68 TPE in grit so not sure what more he would need to get to 461. I feel if anyone could do it Detroit could, but just looking at his TPE and the numbers he obtains I am not sure its possible. Anyway just wondering for my own curiosity.
  7. The second round of the S85 playoffs is about to begin and people are excited to see the bloody rivalry between Davos and reigning champions the Warsaw Predators. On paper these teams match up well with toughness, team defense, and offensive kick. For Davos, they have some offensive firepower that Warsaw will need to figure out. Mason Jones, Alex Johnston, Napoleon Dynamite, and tough guy Vinny Detroit can all throw up big numbers in bunches and are all physical players as well. On defense, they are led by sophomore phenom Jake Thunder who came out of nowhere to end up 10th in overall scoring in the VHL. This dude is doing it all and doing it well with 8 points in 5 playoff games against Malmo. The Predators will need to play a heavy game on him and force him into the penalty box. He is emotional and has a fatal attraction like obsession with Brian Payne. He edged out Payne in a fight in the first game of the season and has yet to stop talking about it in forum in one boring and tired post after another. Payne had no comment on it, as usual. Besides Thunder, Davos has 3 other very capable defenders in David Tavau, James Teekirque, and Siyan Yasilievich. All over 700 TPE and very deadly in their own right. In net, Davos has improved greatly in a deadline trade for Xavier Booberry. Booberry is a legit future hall of fame goalie and went 14-5-1 after the trade deadline for Davos with one shutout. He closes the door on scorers so Warsaw will need to make his life uncomfortable with traffic and quality shots on goal against him. The Predator team hasn’t changed much from their Cup winning club a year ago and the changes that were made possibly made them better. This off season they added Johnny Xavier and Sock Monkey to the club and both have exceeded all expectations with each scoring over 20 goals. In addition to the newcomers at forward they are as deadly as ever. Brendan Marner, Vasile Lamb, Zach Kisslinger, and the power play specialist Girts Galvins. Marner and Kisslinger have been on fire this season each scoring over 100 points. Vasilie Lamb also notched 38 goals this season and 280 hits. On defense, the predators have three nasty dmen in Hari Singh Nalwa, Tavish DeGroot, and Brian Payne. Each of these defensemen play tough, block shots, and hit everything. Payne and DeGroot are known to take a few extra PIMS with bad behavior but can also put up some numbers. Keeping them out of the box will be good for Warsaw. In goal, they have their workhorse, Wumbo. With a 44-14 record this season he just quietly goes about his business, and his business is stopping pucks. He also has some grit and is known to take a few PIMS here and there. So, in conclusion, these two teams match up very well and we should see a nasty bloody series. I put the edge (obviously I’m biased) to Warsaw in six games. Good luck Davos!
  8. L 1. I love it. I want to crush Davos. 2 Payne did great. Had a remarkable stat season. 3. we were close. Pretty proud of everyone. 4. I don’t care much about stats. I just want to win and beat a few people up. 5. in the Euro con I think Davis. Goalie addition makes them formidable. 6. Nalwa
  9. With just 4 games left in the season the Warsaw Predators are trying for a historic feat to not only win 50 games but to have every roster player score 20 goals. So far, all players but defenseman Tavish DeGroot has scored at least 20 goals. He is currently at 18 (still impressive). To go with his 18 goals DeGroot has lived up to his billet as a elite defensive defenseman while adding some nice offensive vision all season. He currently has 45 assists, 173 PIMS, 218 hits, and 128 blocked shots. Also, newcomers to the Predator organization, Sock Monkey and Johhny Xavier have added some impressive numbers as well. Xavier has 21 G 32 A for 53 Pts and Sock Monkey has chipped in 20 G 31 A for 51 PTS in her rookie season. We in the Predator organization would love to see DeGroot chip in two more before playoffs but the entire team wants wins and another championship run above all. Best of luck DeGroot @rory
  10. 1. I’m just a noob defenseman. I have no clue. Hopefully some good moves are made and we keep winning. For eternity. 2. wow. Either one is great but I think every skater will have over 20 goals. 3. id love to face Davos. 4. the fact Payne is doing so well offensively. 5. Edmonton 6. Oilers first than Krakken. I’ve been an Oilers fan since about 7 year old. Used to watch with my family. Krakken are next because I live near Seattle.
  11. As the playoffs draw near, I find its time to cover my tough guy tribute for the S85 season. This showed some good fights and some newcomers dropping the mitts regularly. So here we go. VINNY DETROIT: @dasboot We need to look no further than reigning tough guy Vinny Detroit. He is consistently on the top of leaderboard in PIMS, hits, and fights. After a massive PIM total in week 1 (with a nasty headbutting major) I thought Detroit could have a shot for the PIM record (356 by O’Neal). Sadly, he probably won’t get it this year. But with 344 hits and 222 PIMS with about ten games left he has been impressive. So far, he has 11 fights on the season with 5 fight wins. Very impressive from the epitome of a VHL tough guy! BAXTER ARCANUM: @ctots Arcanum came out of nowhere to amass an impressive 8 fights this season (3 wins). Not know for high PIM totals in his two years in the league, this season he literally came out swinging. Arcanum has played with an edge all season with 144 hits and 152 PIMS. Arcanum showed some grit in his short time in the VHLE for the Bratislava Watchmen. There he had 178 hits and 108 PIMS while putting up some great numbers. JARED CARTER THE 2ST. @jaredc7 Ok let’s start with the name. With a name like that he must be tough. Carter is huge at 608 236 and plays the game with a giant bag of knuckles. In his rookie season he had 80 Grit and has amassed 160 PIMs and 193 hits. At 483 TPE it is scary to think just how tough this kid will be in another season of earning. He’s had 6 fights this year with 2 wins (winning fights isn’t easy in VHL). Also, this kid was a beast in the VHLE with season PIM totals of 233, 248, and 284 with over 300 hits each year as a defenseman. I am super excited to see where his career is headed…..I’m sure the penalty box. HARD MARKINSON: @STZ Well , being one of the most skilled defenseman in the league and a guaranteed lock at Hall of Fame tells just a bit of Hard’s overall game. He also is extremely physical and tough and willing to drop the gloves with anyone which just shows his commitment to his team. With 8 fights this season already and 232 hits its no wonder why Moscow remains one of the toughest to play against. If anyone is wondering how to make the perfect tough defenseman just look at Hard’s build. JAKE THUNDER: @Thunder Well I have to take some credit for this pick as I recruited him to the VHL and he has shined since the VHLM. An unassuming TPE earner he has grown quickly into becoming not only deadly offensively but deadly at dropping the mitts for Davos. With Detroit on his team it is probably hard to find suitors but Thunder had tallied 7 fights with 1 win (sadly against my player Brian Payne). He has 151 PIMS and 186 hits but what truly tells the tale is he is off the charts in scoring this season. 22 G 61 A 83PTS his coach might keep him from that highly anticipated rematch with Payne so that he continues his scoring pace. I am at 566 words so I will stop until next week to discuss more tough guys(and gals). Honorable mention tough guys: Cadmael Ixazaluoh -Toronto Brian Payne -Warsaw Tavish DeGroot- Warsaw Brian Schmigel- Prague Vasile Lamb- Warsaw
  12. 1. Keep pushing all the way to the end. rest Is for the never ending off season 2. I did not. I never thought Payne would be having such a good offensive year. 3. eats oranges 4. I am excited. There were some great off season moves. Id like to see if Edmonton and Toronto can live up to expectations. I hope Toronto does not. 5. I’m American so the last Thursday in November is our Thanksgiving. No big plans but to cook a Turkey and hang with family. 6. just chilling with 4 year old and wifey with good food and dime games.
  13. The Warsaw Preds are surging at just the right time and it’s no surprise that some players are having career years in the process. Forwards, Zach Kisslinger (85) and Brendan Marner (87) are #2 and #3 in overall scoring, Vasile Lamb is #8 in goals (35). In the assist category Brian Payne is #3 with 58, Marner #4 with 57, and KIsslinger is #10 with 52. The Pred defense is also contributing at the right time with Defensive genius, Hari Singh Nalwa notching 71 points so far and is poised to break out come playoff time. In the +/- category the Silent Assassin Girts Galvins leads the league with a +38. Even newcomer Johnny Xavier has scored a career high 20 goals this season helping out the club considerably. In Physicality the Predators are second to none with nasty forwards in Marner and Lamb and a tough defensive core with DeGroot (149 PIM) and Payne (209 PIM). The Preds are coming together at a perfect time and have high hopes for a deep playoff run. Best of luck
  14. First, thank you to the management for making another theme week TPE boost as I grind my way to 1000 TPE. I would like to start by saying that the GM’s and AGMs of this league, whether it be the VHL, VHLE, or VHLM can truly determine if a new player is committed to this league, become a welfare clicker, or quit altogether out of frustration and often misunderstanding of the learning curve associated with the league. My first foray in the VHL forum came from a YouTube ad. I logged into the forum and hovered over “Create a Player” for an hour trying to determine if this was something I wanted to try. I am not going to lie I had some reservations that came from not really getting how this league worked. I eventually conquered my fear and created defenseman, Brian Payne. I was then received an email saying welcome to the league and that teams would be contacting me. Then the flood of offers came in. I settled on the first one I received from JB123 @JB123 and joined the San Diego Marlins. I joined the team and was CONFUSED as HELL! Writing media spots, VHL articles, Press Conferences and then even more challenging was how do I claim them and where. And then once I get the points what do I put them in to be good for the team??? JB123 was patient and always available to help me and answer my questions (No matter how stupid they were). I have no doubt whatsoever that I didn’t have JB123 as my first GM, and had a less active one, I might not have remained in the league. Based on his mentorship I feel I have stayed active and as max an earner as possible. Plus, thanks to him I have the fun to be had in the league and made many good people. Next, I went to the VHLE after being drafted by the Bratislava Watchman. Bratislava’s GM, Frostbeard @FrostBeard, was also very active, fun, and helpful. A very easy-going personality and had a great AGM in Shindigs. Shindigs @Shindigsis a student of the game when it comes to crafting a player and was super helpful in making Payne a brute in the VHLE. I credit both of with making a fun atmosphere in the chat room and my time in the E a very enjoyable experience. Next, I joined my current team in the VHL, the Warsaw Predators. Payne was drafted 26 overall by the Predators and I wanted to prove that Payne was better than his draft pick. I was excited that GM Dlamb told me he was happy I fell that low and was underrated in the draft. He has always been a very helpful leader and the Predator locker room is fun and full of interesting characters. Dlamb @dlamb makes great moves in the draft, free agency, or trades and is always looking to make Warsaw better. In my short time there we have already won a championship and are on pace to compete for another one this year. I want to sincerely thank all my GMs and AGMS in my short time here. Please know that your effort and mentorship can make or break a new person’s time in the league. Thank you for all the hard work and time you donate to making this such a fun experience. 567
  15. As we ticked over the halfway mark of the season the Warsaw Predators are maintaining form at the top of the European Division. With a 27-10 record they are just a few points ahead of the always powerful Moscow Menace and 12 points up on the surging Davos Dynamo. Team defense has played a huge part of their winning success with a low 115 goals allowed. Obviously, that starts with a phenomenal goal tender in Wumbo. Wumbo has a .926 GAA he has been a rock for the Predators. Also, another Predator stud has been Girts Galvins quietly goes about his business. He has a league leading 10 PP goals (19 total) he continues to prove that he is the silent assassin. As the season tips over toward the post season I look to have some other players who have been quiet to step up. I look for Payne, Lamb, and DeGroot to light on fire and hopefully lead Warsaw to a second championship.
  16. 1. Well…..pretty good so far. I’d like to contribute more goals but not too shabby. 2. DeGroot. Playing like a possessed demon. 3. Payne. He lost his only fight of the season. 4. not sure. Maybe earn some max TPE to get players ready for playoffs. 5. At home. Wife is an amazing cook. 6. Yep. Payne has a hot wife who is an Orthopedic surgeon and a beautiful 4 year old daughter.
  17. This season has started off hot and I want to give a shoutout to a tough guy who is wrecking the league in PIMS and hits this season. This shoutout goes to PIM leader Vinny Detroit @dasboot. #1 in PIMs (108) and #1 in hits (116) he is showing the league (again) what a savage he is to play against. Kicked out of the first game of the season against Warsaw for…..wait for it…..HEADBUTTING. I love a guy who plays reckless, and I think it’s having a positive impact on his club. After a terrible start Davos is slowly climbing the standings. It will be interesting to see if he can keep this kind of pace for PIMS. The all-time record is Da’Brickashaw O’Neal with 356 regular season penalty minutes in season 13. Right now, on pace Detroit is looking at around 332 PIMs at this pace. I am hoping he breaks it but also secretly hoping he loses all his fights against Warsaw, particularly Brian Payne. Good Luck Detroit!
  18. A little late but today I’d like to review of twoof the European Conference teams as the season starts to take shape. I have been surprised by a few of the clubs that seemed to be in a rebuilding phase make their way to the top of the standings while teams I assumed were going to be contenders are struggling to start the season. I know it’s a long season and stuff will happen but here it goes: WARSAW PREDATORS: Ok it’s my team so It will be biased. The defending Continental Cup Champions bring back a mostly intact team from last year. They did lose goal scoring phenom Bogdan Trunov @qripllto Malmo but picked up Johnny Xavier @Johnny_HXas a free agent who is a proven goal scorer and Sock Monkey @chiknwas called up after winning a championship in the E. Up front their led by a Zach Kisslinger @Kisslinger, Brendan Marner @MetalToday, and Vasile Lamb @dlamb who play a nasty nasty game of grit mixed with offense. They also have the Silent Assassin in Girts Galvins @Girts. He came alive last playoff and has never taken his foot off the gas. On Defense, they are led by Hari Singh Nalwa @Dilwho makes us laugh in locker room and puts up massive points on the ice. Tavish DeGroot @rory and Brian Payne both play a punishing defensive Dman role and love to mix it up. Don’t forget WAR D1 who never speaks but plays with heart. In goal, Wumbo @Fire Fletcherstops everything and is known to take a penalty of two which I personally love. Prediction: Continental Cup Champs (again)……. I am biased though, I warned ya MALMO NIGHTHAWKS Not a team I would have picked to be at the top of the standings this year, but they have come out firing! As I said earlier, they made a great free agent signing in Bogdan Trunov to go along with Igor Molotov @Dom and Donny Carter @TheNeonShaman As of this writing Igor Molotov is #1 in goals scored (12) On the blue line, they have Maq Torqq @Stevewho is a TPE earning beast. They also have S82 draftees Dabnad Shaw @Dabnad and tough guys Jared Carter the 2nd @jaredc7and Mo Probert @Yahtzee. I feel bad for forwards who have to play against this defense. All four of them had a good number of points allotted to BC and Grit so matchups against tough forwards on Warsaw and New York should be fun to see. Also as of now Mo Probert is #11 in overall scoring (13 points), #2 in SB (36), and a +9. Not bad for a undrafted rookie D-man playing in a very tough conference. I am excited to watch his career. In goal, they have two S81 draftees Boris Tsezar and Thomas Price who look to tandem their way to wins. I look for them to grow as the season progresses as well. Prediction: Playoff bound and plenty of violence which I love. Secret hope: A fight filled game against Warsaw SOON!!! Next week I will cover two-three more clubs in the EU conference.
  19. At 12 games into the new season the European division is up for grabs. Prague, Moscow, Helsinki, Malmo, and Warsaw are all battling for top spots and showing just how tough the conference is. Malmo and Warsaw are currently in first with 8-3 records. Malmo has former Predator, Bodgan Trunov who is off to a great start. They possess some real talent with Molotov, Carter, and Marconi up front and a formidable defense led by Maq Torq with talented S82 draft lineup with tough guy Mo Probert, Jared Carter the 2st, and Dabnad Shaw. Ill be totally honest I didn’t see Malmo as being as good as they are in the off season (my mistake) but they have toughness and scoring. I look forward to their matchups against the Warsaw Predators who also boast a lot of team toughness, grit, scoring, and a proven goalie. A more detailed Euro conference review will be coming in Media Spot this week.
  20. 1. I think it went ok. I’d like to see more shots on goal but overall pretty good. 2. pepperoni, sausage, green pepper 3. Sex and Xbox 4. Spaghetti, I love it. 5. Godsmack and anything from a Rocky movie 6. Excited to see how the Oilers start the season with their new goalie.
  21. Actually meant D- Hammer Voss. Not Forward. My bad
  22. F-Hammer Voss @MexicanCow123
  23. Got quiet in here!! LOL
  24. LOL. The punch was a "muffin". Super soft, Like my mother used to give me
