  8. That's what I would bE. I can't say these thoughts haven't crossed my mind. What could I accomplish as the commissioner? What would be our goals? And how would we go on about achieving them? From the first phrase, you already know this will be somewhat controversial. There's the Elephant in the room and with this particular one... everyone always chips in. The VHLE was created before my time in the VHL. Its inception came from the influx of members during the pandemic, but looking at the league now... why is there no room for it in some people's minds? One of the main points, if not the only one, these people have are the Inactive players who have the purpose of filling out the rosters in the VHLE. This question, though, doesn't hurt the user experience in the VHLE unless there's a bad General Manager behind the team... which could happen in any of the three leagues. In any case, the league would undergo a few changes to better integrate the E. The VHLE and the participants involved and embraced in its development would be empowered as it seamlessly integrates into the VHL ecosystem. Let's start by correcting a seemingly overlooked problem, the recreates. We all know the advantage that an older, more experienced user has over the new users who find their way into the league and start in the VHLM. Finding a way to motivate and reward the recreates who step up to the VHLE should be looked into. The solution could be as simple as tempering with the 'Practice Facility' on these players. In this instance, a player in the VHLM for the first season would claim 2 weekly TPE from it, but the seasons after? Only 1. But on the other hand, if they choose to move up to the VHLE in the season previous to their VHL Draft, they'd be able to claim 3 or 4 weekly TPE from Practice Facility. Lowering, of course, to the usual 1 weekly TPE after their draft. Salaries. We all know how the cap works and how the usual bonus is processed by each team to their prospects that don't make the VHL in that first season. This means the players who now enter the VHL as they're drafted are already at a disadvantage. Why not use the VHLE to correct this? The entry-level contract for the VHLM is 1.5 Million Dollars and remains the same in the VHLE. Let's rework the salary cap structure, starting with standardizing the bonus structure around the league for any player drafted in the VHL. Either elect to give it out and not count against the team's cap or remove its possibility. Increase, fully integrate VHLE salaries, and create a salary cap for the league. Yes, this would require the hiring of a new Financier. Not only to run this league's finances, which would allow the creation of this new mechanism, but could help the current Financier's workload and the optimization of the salary cap structure, which has been on maintenance multiple times over the last few seasons. This would allow players to make more money on their VHLE trip than by staying down in the VHLM and turn the league into a better sandbox for General Managers who strive to be in the VHL. With a max contract of 3 or 4 Million Dollars for Free Agents moving up to the E, it would be very enticing to do so. At this moment, these two particular changes could very much define a career for a player and create differences for those who decide to create a better environment in the VHLE instead of robbing a new user's spot in the VHLM. Let's take Player 1 and Player 2 as two examples of recreates who max-earn capped TPE. Players 1 and 2 re-create at TDL S0 and will be in the S2 Draft Class. In S0, they make 1.5 Million Dollars and get about 8-12 TPE from the Practice Facility. In S1, Player 1 decides to stay in the VHLM, earning 1.5 Million Dollars and ~10 TPE, but Player 2 takes the leap, enters Free Agency in the VHLE, and can choose where to play. At this point, let's discuss VHLE's new salaries. For drafted players, during the 3-season period, there's a scale to follow. 200-249 TPE, 2 Million Dollars. 250-299 TPE, 2.5 Million Dollars. 300-349 TPE, 3 Million Dollars. 350-400 TPE, 3.5 Million Dollars. On the other hand, Free Agents can accept a contract for any amount between 2 and 4 Million Dollars. Player 2 is a max-earner and will be a significant asset for whatever team they play for, which is why VHLE teams are eager to offer them a max contract. At 4 Million Dollars and 3/4 TPE from Practice Facility, Player 2 has created a massive gap. Let's call this experience... playing in a better league... doesn't matter, but it does make sense. Player 2 would finish the season with more 2.5 Million Dollars than Player 1 and between 20 to 30 TPE more. With a league where everyone has such strong opinions, why not turn to the more experienced users to help turn things around? Why not try to use these max-earners, very good earners, or just consistent earners to help the users who are in limbo and sometimes lose their footing after spending more time with less activity than usual? Let's populate this league with our best users, and maybe we can become even more competitive up top. Because the thing is... some of the users who now stand for the league to fold have had a great time there. So the real question shouldn't be whether or not the VHLE should be folded, but how can he help the league grow? Yes, this would create a need to restructure the salary cap and the 'Player Store,' but maybe we could see this as an opportunity to create a new era in the VHL. Also... let's throw in the hypothetical, the VHL teams have the best hockey coaches in the world, and 'Practice Facility' decreases to 1? Not anymore! 2 TPE 'Practice Facility' in the VHL!

The team is in 3rd place in the West, and 4th overall. With the trade deadline approaching, do you think we'll be active? 3. How do you see the rest of the season shaping up? 4. It's theme week! 14. Calgary, Alberta - People are starting to raise questions. Questions of ethics, integrity, and interrelational intent. In the world of sports, where heroes are idolized... and dreams realized, the emergence of unsettling questions could shake the foundation of a celebrated player's legacy, Leandro Goncalves. As whispers of the fake authenticity grow louder, the once-stellar image of this individual begins to crack. Amidst the dazzling displays of skill and adoration, we find ourselves confronting the uncomfortable truth, contemplating the blurred lines between right and wrong, and questioning the virtue that underpins his game. The place where we could only admire and appreciate the level of this player now has shadows cast upon this enigmatic career. These shadows force us to reevaluate our own ideas, leaving us yearning for clarity and unveiling the profound impact that this revelation may have. Kobe Bryant is arguably one of the best basketball players of all time, some argue he's the greatest to ever do it, but that's not the intent of this article. We are not evaluating who the G.O.A.T. is, but instead, let's discuss Kobe's style of play. He was renowned for his scoring ability and relentless pursuit of victory. Possessed a unique combination of athleticism, skill, and determination that enabled him to dominate the game, frequently taking on the role of a primary scorer. While his remarkable talent and competitive drive undoubtedly brought him success, some critics argued that his focus on scoring sometimes led to a lack of passing and sharing the ball with teammates. In the context of hockey, a sport that relies heavily on teamwork and collaboration, the concept of "lack of passing" takes on a different dimension. With its fast-paced nature and emphasis on coordinated plays, hockey places significant importance on passing the puck effectively to create scoring opportunities. The ability to move the puck and involve teammates is a hallmark of a skilled and strategic player. Unlike basketball, where the ball can be held by an individual player for longer durations, hockey's fluid nature necessitates quick decision-making and selfless play to generate offensive chances. Comparing Kobe Bryant's approach to scoring dominance in basketball to the same concept in hockey underscores the contrasting demands of the two sports. While Bryant's individualistic style suited the nature of basketball, where scoring is paramount, it highlights the potential traps when such an approach is applied to a team-oriented game like hockey. In hockey, the success of a player and the team is intricately tied to their ability to facilitate plays, involve teammates, and create opportunities through effective passing. Ultimately, the comparison serves as a reminder of the diverse strategies and playing styles found in different sports, emphasizing the importance of adaptability and understanding the nuances of each game. While Kobe Bryant's scoring prowess is celebrated in basketball, hockey demands a more collective approach, with passing as a crucial component of success. A few seasons ago, we had a surprisingly correct assessment of Leandro's value as a player. On his Prospect Scouting Report, we read words such as "Elite Franchise Center," "excellent skater," and other positive remarks that confirm his true potential. Leandro is elite, but even so, we must evaluate what the negative traits were back then and how they have evolved so far. "Discipline." While Leandro managed to clean up his game during his career, it seems like he has taken a step back from what could have made him a cleaner, more efficient, and valuable player on the ice. During his first stint playing for Mississauga, he tried to make a statement to prove that he belonged in North America. Leandro wasn't going to let this opportunity escape. He was rough, even gaining a "bad boy" persona. But fortunately, he was coachable, which allowed Kurt Janser and Justin Lose to polish his game. Then we went to Europe, and the mix of Dylan Wallace's style, Leandro's efforts to prove he was better than he was in reality, and the location itself... really should have been of more importance to his evaluation. He was at the top of the "Hits Taken" leaderboard, and while playing for a record-breaking team couldn't maintain a consistent level of play, shooting inefficiently, falling below his linemates in every stat, and finishing the season with his statistics of almost 30% below the top of the league. "Consistency." This is where it all leads to. Is consistency the most valuable trait in sports? This is an often-made question. And some might even say yes, because of what it can bring to the table long-term. It can help the team manage expectations due to the trust in a player's performance reliability. It assures the franchise that the player can maintain a certain level of preparation, be it physical or mental, in order to keep their abilities. Now, what makes Leandro such a grueling case to decipher? Are his "cons" too much of a burden to carry? Can he find himself at this stage of his career? Is this even a problem? All these are real questions. Looking for real answers. The truth is that Leandro is loved by the city of Calgary, their fans, management, and his teammates, but something isn't right for the Portuguese. Daniel Janser, the Swiss phenomenon, is in the last season of his career but still has to carry the heavy burden of leading the Wranglers' first line. Leandro Goncalves, the Portuguese Wonder... could be on his way to breaking records, such as the Swiss, during his career. Just not the official ones... Leandro is the front-runner for the Annual Unofficial VHL Regular Seasons Awards. They may not be the Razzies, but he would probably feel better winning a more prestigious award. For now, Leandro could break a few records. The Timex Award for most hits taken. The John Wayne Award for most shots on goal. The "Hit the Broadside of the Barn" Award for most own shots blocked. And, finally, the "Can't Hit the Broadside of the Barn" Award for most own shots missed. All these things point to something... while it is said that Leandro is the ultimate team player, there could be a case that he's looking out for himself more than he should. At the moment, all is well in Calgary, though. The team stands first overall in the VHL standings, with everyone pitching in some way to the team's success. Leandro could even be in the race for the Boulet, but that isn't something we would have said he would be fighting for at this point in his career. Let's see what the future holds for the ever-promising Portuguese, even if it feels his time is ending. -- To the care of the updater
  15. I can confirm that BOOM's VHLM tenure(s) as AGM have lasted more than three days. At least in Vasteras/Moscow.
  16. Some of the posts I read through made it seem as if you were the one putting it together (and even pushing to switch to a podcast format) but I will adjust it accordingly. It goes for a better story since I believe STZ is a recruit of yours! In any case, I'm glad you enjoy this. We've shared the Locker Room and have spoken a number of times since then, even during my search for an AGM. I appreciate you!
  17. @BOOM, if you read this and I've fucked up somewhere in the article, please let me know. I'll adjust accordingly. You deserve an article without incongruences. Also, I'm sorry this took me so long to churn out. Cheers!
