  1. We’re in studio with Bears goaltender Clayton Park to see what he’s up to this off season. “ As a young goaltender in the pros it is very important to work hard in the off season and improve. This offseason I will be training with former NHL goaltender Curtis Joseph aka Cujo! He is a friend of my father and offered to work with me during the off season to help me improve. This will be an incredible opportunity to learn from one of my childhood hero’s and I am so excited to get started!” “ When I am not training with Cujo I will be working with the fantastic coaching staff in Seattle. They will put me through various workouts and drills to improve my game. The coaching staff in Seattle is among the best in the league in my opinion as they are very experienced and knowledgeable.” “ Lastly I believe every player deserves some time away from the rink to relax with family or travel and the offseason is the perfect time for that. Our family is going on a 2 week cruise through Alaska and that will be an incredible experience. I am hoping we see lots of icebergs and polar bears but mostly the polar bears! I will workout on the ship but other then that I will be relaxing because the body needs that on occasion!” Thanks for stopping by Clayton Park and we wish you all the best in the coming season! Also enjoy that trip!!!
  2. Bears goaltender Clayton Park will now address the media regarding his first full VHL season. “ The biggest thing for me is the opportunity I was given in my rookie season. My GM played me in 60 games as a rookie and I am extremely grateful for that. I was able to get 2 shutouts on the season and I am very pleased about that. It took me awhile to adjust to the high level of play and my GAA definitely proves that. This year was a rebuilding year for us so we didn’t win many games just as we expected. The future is bright for this organization as we have a lot of young guns that are turning into stars! One person in particular is Shane Mars, what an incredible season he had and he just keeps getting better! As are team gets more experienced and we grow we will become a team to be feared!!!” Bears 3 Stars 3rd Star: Scott Shawinganen 40G, 52A, 92P This S63 Centre was coming off a terrible 22 point season and turned things around in an incredible way! What an incredible season for Shawinganen, he will be a big part of their offence going forward. 2nd Star: Samuel Gate 17G, 76A, 93P This is the best season he has played in his entire career. The best Bears defensemen this year who helped set up a lot of goals! 1st Star: Shane Mars 46G, 48A, 94P This S66 winger is the future of the Bears organization. He can do it all from setting up goals to sniping on the best goalies in the league! Mars has a very bright future and he better make room for all the awards he will win during his VHL career.

  5. Clayton Park joined the Bears in the time of a rebuild and has had an meateoker start to his rookie season. However on Sunday night there was nothing meateoker about his performance vs the Helsinki Titans! The Titans fired a total of 11 shots in the first and Park came up huge stopping all 11 of them! In the second period the Titans fired a parade of shots, 19 in total. Bert Meyers beat Park on a sweet passing play where he had absolutely no chance, to make it 1-0. Then minutes later on one of Helsinki’s many power plays Julian Borwinn sniped one past Park to make it 2-0. Although it may look like Park had a bad period he absolutely did not! He made some incredible saves in the 2nd and stopped 17 of 19 shots. In the 3rd period Seattle took a dangerous amount of penalties. Park was without a doubt the best penalty killer as he continued to make save after save trying to keep his team in the game. Park only allowed 1 goal on the power play and Helsinki had 11 power play opportunities!! That’s pretty dam good if you ask me! Park continued to battle making save after save in the 3rd and stopping all 18 shots. Unfortunately Seattle’s offence could not get going and they fell 2-0 to Helsinki. For the first time in his young VHL career, Clayton Park was named the 2nd star of the game. He stopped a total 46 of 48 shots in this game and had a save percentage of 0.958. I’m sure this won’t be the last time we see a stellar performance from this young rookie! Clayton Park had this to say post game. “ I definitely feel this is my best game as a bear to date and it’s nice to be recognized for my performance. Unfortunately we still couldn’t come out with the W so we will have some things to work on in practice.”
  6. @Beketov tough game but my best for sure! @Banackock Thanks buddy!! Happy with my performance, wish we had of got the W but no big deal we’re in a rebuild!
