ScottyP reacted to Thunder in Rip Wheeler Jumps Conference to Avoid Scurvy
Rip Wheeler, @ScottyP is changing sweaters after being traded from the Calgary Wranglers to the Prague Phantoms.  The trade also saw all-star defenseman Skor McFleury, @Alex move to Prague with Wheeler.  Calgary picks up Kyle Toms, @Ktoms22 and Moritz Stauffer @GoodLeftUndone in the trade, along with a season 95 Prague first round pick in exchange for a season 95 Calgary second round pick.

Dissecting this trade, it appears that both teams come out winners.  Starting with Calgary, they pick up a first round pick in season 95, which will boost their roster in the future.  Trading McFleury also frees up some salary cap this season.  Adding Stauffer to the defense with Phil Strasmore, @Phil will definitely make it tough to score on the Wranglers.  With Randy Bobandy, @AJW in the lineup, Toms will have someone to look up to and help develop into a top forward.

For Prague, adding a record breaking defenseman and an up and coming forward will surely keep Prague in the hunt for the cup, especially with the retirements of Nikolas Kauppi, @Tetricide and John Jameson, @Frank.  Skor McFleury will be a good mentor for the young Prague defensemen.

Both Calgary and Prague will be making some more decisions before the season begins.  On a side note, with Wheeler going to Prague, he will be expected to step up and not be the slacker he is so accustomed to.  Hopefully he learns how to block shots with Prague.  He also better hit the gym because Logan Ninefingers, @Scurvy is looking for some toe to toe action, especially now that Wheeler moved out of the North American Conference.  Ninefingers was so looking forward to getting multiple opportunities to smash Wheeler’s face.

Thank you @leandrofgfor the trade talks!

@GoodLeftUndone and @Ktoms22 thank you so much for your time here in Prague! Calgary has an amazing locker room and GM and I hope your players have an equally amazing time there!

Welcome to Prague @Alex and @ScottyP! I'm really looking forward to having you play for us!

Rip Wheeler has finally earned his namesake and even though @Scurvy says @ScottyP is a useless fuck, Rip has actually contributed to his team.  Finishing his 4th season in the VHL, Rip Wheeler has made a mark and has solidified a position on Calgary.  His latest season being his best, it appears that Wheeler is going to be even better next season.

Now don’t get your head swelled up too big Rip, I mean, come on look at your team.  You’re surrounded by studs.  Calgary’s forward roster is stacked with experience; Randy Bobandy, @AJW, Oreo McFleury, @JB123,  and Sadie St-Louis, @sadie just to name a few.  How easy it must be to be fed the puck from these stars giving you clear shots on goal.

And then there is the defense, with the likes of Phil Strasmore, @Phil and Skor McFleury, @Alex, how could you not be an improvement to the team.  These teammates of yours make you look like a superstar.

Congratulations on your success and good luck Rip.  You can officially throw away the Jimmy name!!

I’m not quite sure he’s ready to throw his name away.  Let’s see what happens when he has to lead a team then decide.  He’s still a soft ass load of shite.   😭

Another week closer to Season 93 and there are some happenings going on.  Pro-Am is in full swing, draft is upon us, some teams making some moves, and a look in on Thunder and Rip.

    TRADES
I honestly having been paying much attention this week but did see some notable trades worth talking about.  Now, I will preface this with I am not a GM and have no idea about cap space and/or reasons for trades.  I am simply a casual observer.

    Helskinki-Moscow
On March 3 we saw potential rookie of the year candidate Grimgor Ironhide and a 2nd round pick go to Moscow for Adi Dassler and a 3rd.   Both players are phenomenal, and I feel that Dassler will flourish well with Dixon and Lazaro.

For Moscow they receive a big bruising checker and proven scorer in Ironhide.  He will slot nicely into a deadly and young lineup. Moscow looks to be deadly for years to come.

What I question in this trade is the draft picks?  Dassler and Ironhide both are high TPE earners, and both are going to be all-star level players for their respective clubs but why the differences in picks?  Moscow gets a higher TPE player and a higher pick?  That is some Las Vegas Knight level negotiation or is there something I just don’t know about trades or VHL GMin (probably the case). Like I said, not a GM and have no idea how this shit works, Just curious.

    Moscow-Vancouver
In another Moscow trade they sent star forward Left Alone @okochastar to the Wolves for a 2nd round pick.  This is a great trade for Vancouver to acquire a 94-point scorer to give some much needed mentorship to a young forward core.  Moscow gets a good pick in a deep draft to add to their pool of deadly prospects.

In a separate trade, Vancouver added Sunglasses Joyo @JetsGoalie101 and hard-hitting Larry Abass Jr @RileyLRiley.

With the draft and free agency starting up It will be exciting to see where people land.

    Bollos de Trueno
With my buddy @Thunder coming back after a short break it has me excited.  He opted for another defenseman so it will be interesting to see which one turns out to be better.  Although, Jake Thunder will be some big shoes to fill.   But with that being said, Thunder is a high earner and currently sits at 137 TPE going into the dispersal draft in a few days.  Teams would be smart not to sleep on this pick.  I look forward to when he gets to VHL so the rivalry with Ninefingers can begin.

Now to check in on my other buddy, Rip Wheeler @ScottyP.   He had a pretty good season with 29-41=70 points.  Calgary has some beasts with Oreo McFleury and Randy Bobandy up front and Skor McFleury and Phil Strasmore in back so I am hoping Rip earning to help Calgary continue their winning ways. I especially am excited now since my player is in the VHL and in same division.  A Calgary vs Vancouver rivalry will be even more delicious if I can smack him around for a season or two.

Logan Ninefingers will need to spend some extra time in the gym if he’s gonna be taking on Rip Wheeler.  Oh wait, @ScottyP does get physical.  Just look at his lack of shot blocking ability.  Just like on xbox, probably skating around like he’s still in stick and puck.  Cant wait to see Logan smash Rip’s face!!!

    1.  Up my OV and DC with my banked points.

    2. The Frenchman seems to have that locked down

    3. Art Vandalay Is my pick with LA.  They are a tough team and I think will go on an impressive run to end the season.
    '
    4. LA.  They have all the tools and I think the mere presence of Rip Wheeler @ScottyP will force a good Calgary team to falter in the remaining games.  LOL

    5. Going out on a limb here and gonna say Moscow will win the division.  They are streaky and get hot.  I think they have another run and pass up Malmo

    6. Prague . Prague has some real studs on offense and a great goalie in Murdock.  I think they make huge upsets in playoffs and win the cup against LA in 6 games.  Jameson MVP

Another quick one for the boys (and girls) in the wrangler room. Rip is still a point per game guy, and he’s making a positive impact for the wrangler nation.

I still want Rip to bring the wood and bring a physical presence to the club. I’ll keep adding some body check TPE, but I need my player to be a dude that smashes and crushes for the boys in the room (and girls).

I’m happy that Rip is bringing the points and solid plus/minus for the club. Love that and am happy that Rips found his way a bit and is contributing.

Lastly, let’s talk about my soon to be arch nemesis…the 9 fingered man, the missing ginger himself…Logan Ninefingers….you can’t hide in Europe forever brotherrrrr!!!

You’re a solid (more than) point per game guy….but your hits and pims are a bit light…once you make it to the show…Ol Rip will have some smoke for yah….and trust me young buck…you don’t want the smoke…keep your head up and your chin tucked…once you graduate to the big time, it’s no mercy on your 9 finger candy ass!

A quick hitter for the boys in the room! Rip is actually contributing and the Wranglers are crushing it! Here’s a quick recap!

Rip has 27 points in 23 games! He’s officially a PPG guy! And at plus 13, he’s far from hurting the clubs when he’s out there! You love to see it! 26 pims and 40 hits make him Lady Byng worthy, but a change in philosophy has definitely helped the club be more successful.

Speaking of the club, a few Scotty P shout outs coming in hot! First of, Dilly Dilly! Merome Dilson has been an absolute stud in the net! And Raimo, Sadie STL, Randy (Savage), Catia, the McFleurys and Ol Philly Strasss have been killing it! Love playing with such a group of killers! It’s our time and the Wranglers are looking to make some serious noise this season!

Another week and another installment of Around the League in 500 words (or so).  No real plan to discuss anything in particular but wanted to cover some rookie of the year thoughts in the VHL, my recruit Rip Wheeler’s success and any other random stuff that gets me that delicious 6 TPE.

    ROOKIE OF THE YEAR TALK:
This VHL season has a plethora of rookies that could compete for the coveted rookie of the year for S92.  As I was going through the stats, teams, and accomplishments I find this to be a very stacked year of epic rookies.  It’s always difficult to choose just what deserves the rookie of the year; is it points? Hits?  Overall Defense? Intangibles?  It’s just too hard to choose really but let’s try.

    GRIMGOR IRONHIDE-LW HELSINKI TITANS @FrostBeard
The 7th overall selection in the S91 draft, Ironhide is the current leader in points for a rookie skater.  9g 13a- 22 points, Ironhide is grinding in the toughest division in the league. Ironhide hits, scores and grinds for his club and has scored heavy in every league he has played in while covering defensively as well.  The guy just knows how to win.  A founders cup and multiple trophies already line his trophy case so rookie of the year is not a far flung conclusion.

    WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW- G NEW YORK @rory
The New York Americans are a team I constantly root for, but they always seem to fall short of expectations.  However, I am really excited for the future with their roster.  Not to be dismissed in the rookie of the year category is goalie, WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW (however many). It’s always tough to rate a rookie goalie since they usually don’t get the starts or games that most skaters get but WWWWWWWWWWWWWW can’t be overlooked by his work capacity.   He's played 21 games and is 11-7-3 and has been ABSOLUTE BEAST in net with a 1.98 GAA, 2 shutouts and a .935 GAA.   He’s certainly not been intimidated this season and If he keeps up his pace, he will no doubt be in consideration.

LEIF REINGAARD- D MOSCOW MENACE @Zetterberg
Drafted 3rd overall in S91, LR continues to show why he could be the perfect defensive build.  Almost a point per game and defensive game that stuffs opposing players.  Tough to show how amazing that good defenders are to the success of the club simply by looking at offensive stats but LR has and will be a pivotal key to Moscow’s success for years to come and a true challenger for Rookie of the Year honors.

    THOR REINGAARD- RW WARSAW @N0HBDY
Warsaw has struggled the past few season but a player like the # 2 pick in last year draft, Thor Reingaard can easily turn that fortune around,  Big and strong he has tallied 8 g 8a for 16pts in 20 games.  Considering the strength of schedule and roster, Thor Reingaard should be in consideration for the ROTY trophy.

NOTE:  We are only 20 games into the season and this list could change dramatically in the next 20 or so games.  More to follow….

    RIP WHEELER
Its not often that I am completely impressed with my recruit and current Calgary forward, Rip Wheeler @ScottyP.  BUT……I have to say I am presently surprised by Rip’s season thus far.  9 g 18 a for 27pts in 21 games. If you don’t know, I work with Rip and I can constantly get on him about clicking welfare instead of taking two minutes to type something.  However, this season he is in top 10 in scoring and is killing it. I hope he continues his success until my player Ninefingers makes it to the show to stop him………Violently

    Theme Week Season 91: Recruitment:

Alright, it’s been a while since I’ve typed out a media spot, but a doubles week is definitely the time to knock the rust off!

This one hits close to home because of my love hate relationship with Scurvy aka Brian Payne aka Logan Ninefingers! I have the unfortunate task of seeing Scurvy’s ugly mug daily at work. I remember when he would talk about the VHL and at first I thought it was fantasy hockey…just couldn’t really wrap my head around it. I’ve “played” x box hockey (aka the sticks) with Scurvy for years, but that had fizzled out in the past year or so…anyways for weeks he would bust my chops everyday in an attempt to get me to join.  After unrelenting “recruitment”, Rip Wheeler was born. Now Scurvy and Sharky will tell you that I’m closer to a “Jimmy Herdstram” type than a badass like Rip…but that’s what haters do, they hate!

I remember when I first began my VHL journey it was really complicated and I struggled a bit. I was lucky that all of my GMs have been really helpful and understanding. I’m a single dad and have a pretty busy life…and sometimes I don’t have the time to get all my point tasks done…and honesty sometimes I just forget! I know Scurvy was pretty pumped that I stuck with it long enough for him to get his TPE based “recruitment” bonus! Probably the only time he actually showed me some love on his “around the league” weekly recaps. Haha

As I’ve navigated my VHL journey some of the highlights were talking shit to Scurvy and Sharky and also leading the league in hits for a short time! lol After an off season of soul searching, Rip has turned over a new leaf and is committed to putting up some points for the club instead of just crushing souls out on the ice.

I’m glad Scurvy kept on me and now I’m in a spot with a stud GM in Ricer that has helped me navigate (and hold me accountable for) my TPE tasks, a more productive direction for Rip!

As I think of the word “recruitment”, it makes me think about college football. Having a high school prospect with the ball caps of 4 different schools in front of him. Family, fanfare, live coverage in ESPN, it can be a circus. I would say that situation and free agency in pro sports would be the two situations were recruiting is truly a competitive sport. Unlike a draft where the prospect is almost selling himself or recruiting teams to draft him, the latter is about the player being in charge of their own destiny, and that’s something I can appreciate.

As far as the VHL goes, I don’t know if I have any good ideas on how to help with recruitment or make the process better. I know that the recruitment bonus definitely helped keep scurvy on my back until I signed up! Other than that, I’m happy with the process.

We are llliiiiiiiivvvveeee once again, another round of random thoughts from the head of Scotty P.

Ok first off, Seahawks with a big dubya, first overall in the NFC West, second in the conference…you love to see it!

Ok speaking on VHL things….Rips rebuild and the Wranglers reload! Ok, Rip had a heart to heart with management this off season, Pappys was the drink of choice…and Rip decided to go back to the drawing board, do some soul searching and find a better way to be the all important “T-Triple G” aka Team Guy, Glue Guy. With that said Ol Ripper put in the work getting his scoring, passing and skills up to help the boys out in the O-zone…and he definitely leaned out a bit. I’m interested to see how this works out, but excited to have Rip contribute to a quickly rebuilt and reloaded roster. This season is coming up quick and I can’t wait to see the Wranglers start shocking the league with some
serious fire power from the incoming group of players.

Speaking of that, the whole offense for the Wranglers minus Rip and Mason Rice are new faces. And what a group of studs they are! Randy Bobandy, Catia Goncalves (my pick for rookie of the year), the shake man himself Oreo McFleury, Sadie St. Louis, and Raimo Touminen who lit it up last year for Houston on the M! I can’t wait for Rip to get some playing time with all of these players and I didn’t even mention some of the big additions on the back end! I’ll save some of that for next week, but the future in Calgary is bright, that I can assure you!

Catia Goncalves - total stud with 85 pts in 73 games for Oslo last season in the E! 520 shots! Which is an insane number, and 149 hits show that Catia isn’t afraid to use the body to send a message, you love to see it!

Oreo McFleury - Almost a point per game player and named after the best cookie on the planet. A big time playoff producer averaging over a point per game last playoffs. Oreo is gonna make an instant impact in Calgary this season!

Sadie St. Louis - after a great season last year in Riga, Sadie is bring her talents to the Wranglers! 87 points in 72 game, Sadie brings the heat game in and game out. 492 shots is another metric that shows Sadie is all in all the time.

These new additions to the Wranglers are the perfect complement to the already young and hungry core. Rip looks forward to hitting everything that moves and creating space for these three new studs that will help return Calgary to top of the standings!

First off, let’s start off with the obvious, the Seahawks shit the bed in the second half of their American football game today and it hurt my soul! But the eagles and 49ers also lost, so this Sunday wasn’t a total loss!

Next up, Kraken Hockey babyyyy!! The boys are winless on the season so far, but I loved Joey Daccords effort in net last night and I think the wins are gonna come sooner than later.

Lastly, and so I get that sweet 2 TPE, let’s talk THE Victory Hockey League! The whiskey drinking cowboys themselves, the pride of Calgary, the Wrangler’s have pick #4 in this seasons VHL draft! I was thinking about last season, which was a huge leap for Rip Wheeler and wondering what would be the best recipe for overall and team success for the upcoming season. I think a big name trade or signing, coupled with doing whatever it takes to bring Janser home! Callum Gary Yannick Janser, is the #2 overall rate prospect in the latest rankings, but I’m hoping our fearless leader Ricer13 can work some magic to bring a legendary and familiar name back to the squad. Truth be told, whoever is lucky enough to wear Wrangler crest will become a brother! I trust the process and can’t wait to see what happens during the upcoming draft. As long as we don’t draft any player associated with Scurvy, I’ll be happy! If this article is successful I will reach 600 TPE! It’s been a bit of a struggle at times, but I’m excited for this season and committed to making Rip an absolute savage, hit machine and big time contributor to the success of the Calgary Wranglers!

Alriiiight we are back and liiiiive on another Sunday night whiskey fueled night of random thoughts! This weekends drink of choice is Basil Haden Dark Rye…and damn it’s good!

Ok, we are live once again! And my first endeavor into sports betting happened today!

It was fun and I always appreciate a good whiskey and a good parlay! Unfortunately, the Dallas Cowboy fucked me over big time! I was having a few beers and whiskey with the boys….and I realized that I wasn’t as good a gambler as I thought I was. I was confidant on my parlay, and hit the 2/3 waiting for the cowboy to not suck! Anyways, it didn’t work out and I lost money. However! Rip took that time to hit the practice rink. He skated lines, he did some burpees, he really put forth strong effort and showed that he wants to improve. In an unfortunate turn of events  Rips hard work and determination wasn’t enough. Two hang around mopes who can’t get any VHL shine decided to talk shit to Rip after a drop in session. What was said cannot be replayed in the VHL forum, but suffice to say, it was vulgar, insane, and crossed the bounds of international law! Thunder and Pain are two has beens, or never was’ in the VHL world. They came to a drop in hockey session to talk shit to Rip?! It’s uncalled for, it’s unnecessary and it’s out of bounds! These two are bad for business 👩‍💼 and bad for hockey! They take their fake clout and notoriety and shove it in lesser known hockey players for clout. I’ve had enough of these two, mommas boys, jealous as hell, has beens, trying to influence my guy Rip! He’s got enough to deal with and not to mention his obligations around the Dutton ranch! Rip is a savage, he love to check and he loves to keep those on the ranch safe! It’s a daily job, and Rip takes it seriously.
