New York Americans once again sneak into the playoff Wild Card. I’m very excited to have a shot at a run. It sucks we are taking the longest and likely hardest route possible. We first line up against Seattle, who had our number for most of the year - however never faced us when we had our full roster. I’m anticipating a full series if we do come out on top. They have a great group, and it’s not going to be an easy series. Mexico has kinda dropped off this past week. I think we are still in a playoff spot which has us lined up against Halifax. I’d love for Pepe to completely steal a series, but I think we are kinda built for next season. It’ll be interesting to watch, but I think we are all playing with house money in Mexico. This week has been wild irl. I got a bit of a promotion, which will be more workload but also more pay. We took the kids to an indoor waterpark. They loved it - I think it shaved years off my life. Pretty crazy week tbh, a lot of changes and excitement for the end of January. I did finish Dry Jan, which wasn’t all that hard, but I did enjoy a few beers and baileys this weekend lol..

Welcome Back

The Americans have shot up to 3rd in the NA. What does that mean? Basically if we lose one game we could be out of playoffs. It's great fun. I'm happy with the team, and we've been on fire since shoring up our back-end. However, the stress of every sim is full on there. There's a reality where pretty much any of the teams ranked 2-6 could miss the playoffs. Kinda wild, but it does make for an interesting finish to the season. There are two teams in that race that don't hold their own 1st - I feel like that could be even more stressful. I think we probably need to win like 8 of the last 12 games to secure a spot, which is kinda insane as we already have 81 points. We have a very difficult schedule, so it's probably going to come right down to the final sim. I believe the Americans can overcome this. It would be great if we could hold the position we're at, but not trying to be greedy. Pepe has been solid this week. He's not dominant, and the Kings have kinda been slipping, but I'm happy with his progress, and I'll likely enjoy another season in the M next year, before graduating to the Americans when 36W retires. Been pretty busy in my personal life. Work is picking up, and I've been on the road a bit for that. We are taking the kids to an indoor waterpark this coming week, and then the wife and I are going down south at the end of the month - it'll be nice to get away, it's been freezing where we live.

Pepe kinda been a good experience so far. This is my first full goalie since Rhett DeGrath. I made Ike Arkander when I was originally NY GM, but didn’t really see him through. I kinda forgot how enjoyable the position can be. The updating is nice because it’s the original stats. But following Mexico City has been fun - it’s refreshing when you earn TPE and you can see the attributes actually get changed. On a related note, I was close to posting this in suggestions but I doubt it would gain traction. It’d be an interesting implementation if we gave goalies an Endurance stat. You could increase it by 8 but each stat coated like 50 TPE. This stat would allow you to play extra games without the need of a backup…… it’s something.. NY has been starting to right the ship the past couple of sims. I’m optimistic about the season, but it’s a shame we struggled so hard to start the year. A really good group, it’s just always disappointing when you can’t bring your players success. We went on a run last year to finish the season - I really hope we can do the same this season.

I used to do a full Media Spot, but let's be serious, I ain't as good as I once was. Both as an earner, and as a fantasy predictor.. Back in the day when I used to win VHFL all the time, I would go over my picks and explain why the lineup I chose was the best, and why they will all be blessed this upcoming season. Considering our Draft took over a week, most of my picks were made with sim results already in mind. Anyways, a few shoutouts to the crew I picked, may you all have a gloriously strong season and get many hits and points, ftbs. 1.3 Obuz Schneider Canet du Bocage @Grape - This was a pick based on last season's performance and the fact that they are not only built for this point system but also one of the highest TPA players. All of Moscow's offense rolls through OSCdB, and Spartan always has the boys cookin. Don't let me down grape, I spent a high value pick on you.. 2.10 George Richmond @badcolethetitan - Now on to the player I actually acquired and spend a high value pick on, the 1C on the NY Americans. While the Americans always have lousey offense, I'm just praying that Richmond will turn things around for us. He's been great so far, and this is one of those "bet on yourself" picks. He has elite wingers, and there's no reason he should have an amazing fantasy season. 3.15 Toby Kadachi @ROOKIE745 - This is a player I unfortunately had to move this off-season. This is one of those "bet against yourself" picks. Rookie is a great member, I loved Kadachi, but it was time for him to move on from NY. I think they will still have a killer season and help Chicago get over the hump. 4.22 Felicia Hardy @JCarson - Took a top D-Person. Davos should be really strong. It was between her and the other defenseman on DAV, and I decided to go with Felicia... 5.27 King Kisslinger @Kisslinger - One of those, "sims have already happened" picks. He had a really good start to the season. Picking my last forward based on who other teams had left to choose. 6.34 Red Panda @Lemorse7 - Only picked because 36W was taken. Thank you all. Hope you all get me some well-deserved TPE.

1. Draft was cool. It was interesting to see with such a deep class and so many teams that had varying needs. The parity in the league has gotten so high with the folding of the VHLE. 2. I was thrilled to come back to Mexico. I’m excited to play for Vatt! 3. Nope. If anything I went higher than I expected! 4. I thought the presentation was right on par with the VHL draft. I think there’s always ways to improve the production, but I thought this years was done well! 5. Well, you’ll get a guy who will be maxed out by the time he plays his final season in the VHLM. I’ll be racing to get there. All I can control is the TPE applied - hopefully Simon is kind. 6. The guy who gets to grind margis and sun tan
