  2. Moscow Menace Press Conference Week of July 4th - July 10th Claim six answers for 2 TPE 1. What is it that makes Moscow strong every season, no matter what player comes in/or goes? 2. Do you enjoy more press questions about the VHL/Sim or about off-topic more "get to know the member" type questions? 3. If you weren't on Moscow, what team would you want to play for? 4. This week we saw the stress of GMing vacate the NYA of a GM. Would you ever consider being a GM in the VHL, and does the harsh criticisms that come with the job scare you? 5. After the Colorado Avalanche won the Stanley Cup, we've seen their players go on an absolute tear. If Moscow was to win the cup, what do you think you would do with your day with the cup? 6. What was the last YouTube rabbit hole you fell into?
  3. Congrats to both @OrbitingDeathand @Mr_Hatter. It's too bad we couldn't get the job done, but it was a lot of fun playing the majority of a career with you guys. Hopefully our paths cross again soon!
  4. Moscow, Russia. The big question going into this season, was would Moscow be able to compete after losing Duncan Idaho. We are almost a third the way through the season, and it seems as though GM @Spartan has done it again. He's once again retooled the Moscow Menace into a top team in the league. After 19 games, the Moscow Menace are tied with Warsaw (who has a game in hand) at 28 points for first in the league. This comes after having to move the best, most complete player in the league in Idaho. Sergey Preobrazhenzky has continued to develop into the playmaking center they thought they had when they drafted him. Henri le Massif took a major step forward, in points while still accumulating hits. The Seabasstard, newest Menace captain, has provided leadership as well as consistent on-ice play. Off-season acquisition Flynn Remy has excelled in Moscow being a point per game player playing on the first pairing. What might have been the biggest step forward is the play of 2x Labatte Trophy winner Hard Markinson. Markinson has put up point in the past, but this season he is on another level. Markinson has taken this team, and absolutely put them on his back. The veteran defenseman is now 35 point sin 19 GP. He's got the statline that has really had the league talking, and is showing that in this role, he can really move the needle. Marksinon has always shown under pressure he can play, as last playoffs he took over the lead for All-Time Defenseman scoring. This season has felt like playoff hockey all year for Moscow, and it's showing in Markinson's play.
  5. for VSN Job
  6. Nice jersey change. Picture quality is weird because it’s like a scanned version of the card lol. Good stuff tho!
  7. I’ll take L to watch Seattle burn
  8. Moscow Menace Press Conference Week of June 27th - July 3rd Claim six answers for 2 TPE 1. Standings Check! We are 4th in the EU Conference, and seem to be finding our game. What is your level of concern here? DO you feel we need to just keep chuggin' along, or is there concern whether we even make playoffs this season? 2. With Idaho gone, le Massif has stepped into the role of two-way forechecking forward. He has a staggering 41 hits and 12 points in the first 8 games of the season. Do you think this success is from the absence of Idaho, or has Henri always had this upside and just now showcasing his ability? 3. Rookie Tomas Sogaard has had a hot start to the season with 7 points in his first 8 games. Moscow has a history of Rookies having big seasons - what kind of statline do you see him ending the season with? 4. What's more shocking, New York Americans having one win, or the Chicago Phoenix having 6? If neither is shocking, what has been the biggest surprise off the start of the season? 5. VHL is always less active during the summer seasons - do you find yourself having a hard time getting motivated to update with the nice weather, or is it about the same as usual no matter what it's like outside? 6. It was long weekend in Canada, and July 4th is tomorrow for Americans.. Any big plans during the summer holiday?
  9. A tale as old as time.. I review my picks in VHFL, and explain why once again the champ made the best picks. This year I started in the third overall spot. I Actually passed on my own player, as I didn't think I'd be doing well enough and I wanted to make sure I got the guy I wanted anyways. I'm kinda tired of blessing my own players, so I decided to go Forward heavy this season, as last year it seemed as though the drop off from elite forward to mid forward was bigger than elite forward to mid defense. Anyways, that was my thought process going into this draft. 3rd Overall - Saku Kotkakoivu @DollarAndADream This pick has been my bread and butter for the last two years. I got him late two years ago, and then picked him up last season. This in my opinion was a safe pick. He's gonna put up points, and will be solid with hits. With Idaho off the board I had Saku ranked second. He's had a slower start, but this happened last year and absolutely crushed it in the second half of the season. 10th Overall - Nico Pearce @Spartan At 10 I take Nico, and bless Spartan for the first time (I believe). Nico is going to be a stud, I put him in my predicitons for most improved, and I think another award for points or something.. I think at the time I went with another safe pick locking down points and hits. Nothing ground breaking. I would have loved to have blessed Vinny again, but he was taken just ahead of Pearce. I saw three of the top defense taken, soi I decided to double down on forwards. 15th Overall - Taylor Mourning @scoop I was originally thinking I need to go defense at this point, however with Mourning on the board I had to take him. He had an off year last season, and still put up a huge hit total and solid points. This was a steal at this point, and was just a no-brainer at 15. 22nd Overall - Oskar Lindbergh @Doomsday So the next round (a week later) saw both Booberry and Papa taken. I didn't want to be late toi the Goaler party, so I took the best one in Lindbergh. I had Booberry last season, but I always hate being the guy to start the G-Train. I'm more than happy to get Doom on the squad though, and I think TO could be a good team to ride anyways, and Lindbergh could actually out perform the rest of the field, seeing more shots. 27th Overall - Tui Sova @v.2 This was the absolute steal of the century. People probably passed on Sova because he's softer than a soup sandwich, but he's going to put up an insane amount of points. The fact that I got Tui in the fifth round is mind-boggling. I know he won't get hits, but for a defenseman who could be top ten in points, how do you not go after that. Sova needed a blessing in his second last season, you're welcome, v2 for all the awards and statline increase you will get from this pick. 33rd Overall - Mikhail Kovalchuk @Banackock I went with Bana's player Kovalchuk in the last round. Surprisingly Bo Johansen was still around, but I opted with Kovalchuk. Admittedly we were like two sims in and I looked at the index like a bozo, and took Kovie who had a good first two sims. Might have been a classic blunder, but I just need to believe that this was meant to be. I really hop my last pick doesn't drag bunt my entire team into 2nd place. I don't know how Bana is getting 2 hits per game with 40 CK while only getting .5 a game last year (maybe ST increase?), but I'm just banking on Bana somehow having some inside knowledge of the engine and Kovie just pounding the league for 90+ points and 150+ hits.
  10. Lol… I want to see a doctors note
  11. D - Mikhail Kovalchuk @DoktorFunk @Gustav @whoeverisstillhere

  21. F - Taylor Mourning @samx
  22. @Gustav?
  23. Moscow, Russia. After four straight years of losing in the finals, the Moscow Menace have once again re-tooled and are ready for yet another run. In year's past, they had to move on from superstar players like Paul Atreides and Aurelien Moreau. This off-season they had to make the decision to move on from arguably the best player in the league, in Duncan Idaho. This season they build around 2x Labatte Winner Hard Markinson and The Seabasstard... But does this mark the final season for those two to get the job done? The "hard" truth might be that even with a NTC, this could be the final dance for Markinson. It seems as though the only max cap player that is untouchable is goalie Papa Emeritus. The next generation of Menace talent will be coming up, and the veterans could be sacrificed for cap space once again. We get to watch highly touted prospect Tomas Sogaard make the jump to the VHL, as well as rookie Jason Argos who has been a very pleasant surprise from late 3rd round in S82. Sergey Preobrazhensky could be the future 1C and Wattson Power could be the future 1D, and that future could be as soon as next season. Menace fans probably don't want to see or hear this, but it's likely to be the truth - I find it hard to imagine a S85 roster with both Markinson and Seabasstard on the roster. Crazier things have happened, and GM Spartan has done wonders every off-season showing incredible creativite and courage to pull off big moves. Markinson wants to win a championship in Moscow. The time has to be now.
