  1. Houston will never be the same with you AJ! My favorite GM in the VHL of all time!
  2. I-Smell is at it again stinking up the joint. Mexico City Kings have been 1st or 2nd throughout the season before I-Smell went on a stink for a few days. It kept going through the motions but didn't really make a positive impact on either side. As his performance started to die out so did the team's performance as now the team is in a 3 team race behind Halifax. What was once a secure 1st or 2nd place finish is looking more like they are more alike the 3rd and 4th place teams. The team even lost to a bot goalie and gave Las Vegas their second win of the season. I-Smell just isn't cutting it and thus building it's case to not be drafted. As the weeks progress his tpe is being caught up by those that recently created and David Pastanap and Spider Panda have over took him to drop I-Smell down the tpe lader. Will this continue and keep tanking his draft stock? We shall see. But regardless, I-Smell deserves to be the last pick of both drafts as a stinky player.
  3. 42 of the 72 games of season 94 have been complete. Now what have we learned from the 58% of the season so far? (1) The Four Contenders This season do to various circumstances has resulted in the league being a bit top heavy. You have really a tier of the top four teams grouped together. Tier 1 will be Halifax which has been the top team all season and the most consistent. Tier 2 is clustered by Mexico City, Saskatoon, and Miami. Everyone else in tier 3 while Las Vegas gets is own tier in Tier 3. It looks to be a four team race with Halifax looking likely to meet any of the 3 in the Finals. (2) Top Tier Performance Standouts You have Robin Sierra of Halifax and Jacob Longstreet of Saskatoon on top of points and goals. Jerry Box and Samsayz I-Smell are alone at top in assists. LaClapbomb Hitstick IV is way ahead in hits given while Miles Bryant and Samsayz I-Smell are neck and neck in shots blocked. Dustin Wolf of Mexico leads the league with a whopping 93.4% of saves, Jon Webber III of Halifax easily leads in wins and shutouts. (3) Number 1 Draft Pick Playing Like a 1 OA Pick Ahsoka Tano is making a strong case as the best defensemen, MVP and potential 3 draft 1 OA pick. Tano leads all defensemen in total points at 62, tied for 5th in assists and 9th in shots blocked showing an all-around game that GMs salivate over. Tano looks like a deserving VHLM 1st overall pick and would not surprise any if she goes 1 in both the upcoming E and L draft picks. (4) Strong Class of S95 Draftees This class already has 8 players over the 200 tpe threshold with 4 more who should be maxed next week. You have very strong veteran users that make up this group with goalie Roger Eagles leading the pack at a whopping 308 tpe. This group of 12 consists of 2 goalies, 5 wings, and 2 defensemen with all but one player who shall not be named being vets of the league. I feel bad for teams that traded out of this draft for prior or future draft picks as this group is such a strong class. (5) New Users Haven't Met Expectations There has been 26 new creates this class and unfortunately many seem to be a bit struggling to earn or have been eaten by that pesky Fog in the discord. With only 2 of these players at 100+ tpe is a bit worrisome but both being in Mexico City means the GM of the Kings is doing a fantastic job engaging the group. (6) Dylan Sighting Oh and then there is the perennial multi character user Dylan who makes the league interesting as always. He is back to the minors though how long will be debatable. Also take note when you have a Dylan sighting as he is on a quest to have every minors team retire his number.
  4. When I joined the league I thought the VHLE was a farm type system tied to pro teams where the E are made up of players from 2 to 3 teams. Great idea
  5. I hope you keep the Queef lineage going!
  6. 1) Pick one person you have interacted with in this league and say something nice about them. (Feel free to link them) > @AJW has been great being someone that supports you and will make the league fun 2) How often do you go to the team locker room each week? > Multiple times a day. At least 3 times 3) How often do you go onto the VHL discord site each week? > Multiple times a day. Maybe 15? 4) How has your experience been with earning TPE this season so far? > Been very easy 5) What is your biggest issue so far with earning TPE this season? > Nothing 6) If the team got a pet, what type of pet should it be and what would you name it? > To be king you need a Lion! And of course you got to name our Lion, the Lion King!
  7. Stenchmen!!!! I love it!!!
  8. Love it! Love it! Love it!
  9. Does it taste better with hot sauce? And if so what goest best with the standard puck? Any recommendations?
  10. I-Smell is trying to have a quiet stinky season and unfortunately with Mexico City relying on I-Smell, he has had to fill in the void left by Tano and is now the leading defensemen for the Kings. This has caused a big stress on I-Smell. He is supposed to be real bad and riding the bench but has over-performed. Part of the reason is the situation but the other part of the reason is the team has too good of a coach that he keeps pulling the right buttons for I-Smell to keep performing. It has constantly been in the top 3 in assists which also makes it a top 3 scoring defensemen. Also, he is doing well being in the top 3 in shots blocked while maintaining top 5 all season. At this rate too many GMs in the VHL and/or VHLE may notice him that his plan on going last will take a hit. I-Smell needs to find a way to stink but not negatively affect the team so he is still perplexed on how best to resolve this.
  11. 1. My player is supposed to be stinky. He is over-performing most likely due to a great GM. 2. I am assisting way over my ratings. Have been top 3 most of the season. 3. I would like to have better accuracy scoring and thus will invest a moderate amount in OV rating. 4. We shall go try to hit 15 games in this streak 5. It has to be Halifax. We are on a collision course to meet in the finals 6. 17 because that is Ohtani's number
  12. This was a fun podcast! Keep it up!! Davos looking to have a great future
  13. Media Review: Wow this was well written and a great case was made for all these candidates. I think Bana has a very strong case for the DAVID KNIGHT TROPHY for sure. I don't fully agree with KING KISSLINGER but he had a solid case as I would Spanish Moon Mot for the sheer amount of improvement in performance. The one trophy I struggled myself voting is the playoff MVP. I still believe this award should have gone to someone in the championship Seattle and agree on how hard it was to find a standout from the team. Just an overall excellent article and hoping we get more!
  14. I may have stumbled and failed but will not be defeated! Starting my next journey of trying to go last in the draft as I go persuade the VHL and VHLE GMs throughout the season

This will absolutely 100% never happen but I appreciate the sentiment and the content you have created around it!

  15. Mexico City with a lot of young first gen players have been off to a blazing start leading their conference. After dropping their second game against Houston, the team has won 6 in a row to lead the league at 7 wins and 1 loss. The team has one of the top defense allowing the fewest goals throughout the season outside the last sim and has a very solid young core on both offense and defense. The biggest star in the first have has to be three. On offense, C Gavin Bebard has been on a torrid start with 7 goals, 9 assists and 16 points in 8 games. On defense, it has been teammate D Carl Erhardt who has an top 10 league high 24 hits. He has played the enforcer role for a very stingy defense. And the goalie Connor Hellebuyck has been amazing allowing only 1.88 goals per game. An ever improving save rate of 0.91 is solid and is on his way to be a top goalie this season.
  16. 1) Who do you think will score the first goal in season 94 for Mexico City? > I would guess F Gabriel Finley as he has the highest scoring rating of the forwards. Answer ended up being C Gavin Bebard. 2) Which Mexico player will take our first penalty? > I would guess F Gabriel Finley as well still. I am not sure how to look this up so I am not sure what the answer was. 3) How many shut outs will Mexico have over the season? > I would guess 5 which which is what Philly had last season and I feel we will have similar records. 4) Will Mexico make the playoffs? > Yes we will make the playoffs without a doubt! 5) Which player will have the most assists over the season? > I would guess F Gabriel Finley again as he has the highest pass rating. 6) Which player will have the most blocked shots over the season? > I would guess my player D Samsayz I-Smell because I am the highest tpe and defense rating player out of our defensemen. And just for fun 7) Will any of our players win a VHLM award for the season? (Remember to watch the VHLM award presentation on 5/27/24) > Yes! I feel one of our scorers in F Gabriel Finley or C Gavin Bebard will win an award as well as our goalie Connor Hellebuyck.
  17. I thought I'd have fun and look at prospects throughout the season and do an early season preview of the players. As of today, I see a clear distinction of the the top tier and the tier below. Here is a quick look at the 10 players that make up the top elite tier prospects. For this exercise I have used tpe earned as of today and they are the prospects that make up all the 135 tpe and above and I feel are locks as the top 10 picks in the draft. So let's take a look at this group as a whole so far. The sad news for this class is there is no 1st gen user that cracked the top 10. So unlike 2 seasons ago, this looks to be the first draft in a while where we get 0 first gen players in the top 10 picks. Of the ten, let's break the positions: Goalies: Greg_Di (260 tpe) and Ricer13 (162 tpe) are the two main players. They should no doubt go in the top 5 but may only drop if the position needs of the teams drafting in the top 5 aren't there. This is one good draft to need goalies. Wings: der meister (213 tpe), Phil (202 tpe), Tim Robinson (190 tpe), Jubis (161 tpe) and Diacope (135 tpe) all created and have stood above the rest of the pack. Der Meister, Phil and Tim Robinson of course are the elite of the elite so those three look like locks in the top 6 picks. Centers: None Defensemen: aimkin (207 tpe), Anthique (160 tpe) and RileyL (159 tpe) make up the three amigos on defense. It is a big of a drop afterwards so teams will need to go grab one most likely in the top 5 to get one of the three. Similar to mock drafts in other sports, I would create a power ranking as of follows based on position, tpe earned and user from my limited experience and exposure and I plan to update this each week as a fun exercise. Here is the look at the top 5 prospects first: 1. Spider Panda (Ricer13), Goalie for Miami Current the GM of Miami and former GM of Calgary, Ricer needs no explanation as a VHL HOF. 2,645 reputation on the forum alone gives him the GOAT status. Hailing from South Korea, Spider Panda is known to be a great locker room guy. He has strong rebound control and puck tracking. But what makes him the top prospect is his weird obsession with wanting to fight crime! You get to draft a HOF user, top goalie and a real crime fighter. It screams 1 OA in all draft picks so whoever gets the top pick will rush to the podium to make this pick. 2. Konstyantyn Shevchenko (der meister), Right Wing for Mississauga My prior pick to go 1 OA in the VHLM draft, Shevchenko Der Meister rivals Ricer13 for top user status as a fellow VHL HOF. His forum reputation is 2,968 which is higher than RIcer13. Standing 6'7" tall and weighing right around 215 pounds this Ukrainian-born forward is a beats among boys. His body and strength is his strongest feat. But what drops him a tad behind the top prospect is his player's attitude. He is being viewed as a mercenary / hired gun willing to do work for the highest bidder so that will cause GMs to be wary of how long he will stay with the team he is drafted. His stock will most likely fluctuate the most during the season. 3. Ahsoka Tano (aimkin), Defensemen for San Diego Aimkin is making a name for herself as a future HOF user. The player is even doing better. The number 1 pick in the VHLM draft, Tano could easily go top 2 if not with many GMs liking to go with the more veteran players with the top 2 picks. Tano is a nomad from Greenland who grew up in Canada. Her background story is remarkable. She credits her decision of playing defense as likening her to be the line of defense when her father and brothers went out for a multi-day long hunt for food, and she was left to help protect the older women and younger children. With that responsibility and mission, you can bet Tano to be the top defensemen in this class and an easy top 3 pick. 4. Phil Sakic (Phil), Left Wing for Miami The third VHL HOF user with an astonishing 5,041 reputation score, Phil is the man! His player Phil Sakic was just the second overall pick in the VHLM draft and is leading Miami early in the season. Sakic is already known for his "What's that Racket?" series and has gained a big following early in his career. He is a teen sensation and is actually related to the Canadian HOF Joe Sakic though all we know of his origin story is a famous dad, barn in the UK and then..... a baby sensation. Hmm... seems like I've read this in the Bible somewhere. Anyways after representing a Canadian team in his short stint, he has taken his talents to the US and is excited to run wild here before attacking Europe and then his eventual VHL home. This kid screams top 3 talent as well so it'll be interesting to see which of the top 4 actually doesn't make the top 3. 5. Roger Eagles (Greg_Di), Goalie for VHLE Rome The phenom who jumped the VHLM draft to go directly to the VHLE, Greg_Di is the top earner so far in this class. He is that next tier of top user like Aimkin and looks to go into the HOF with this player Eagles. He is the latest prodigy of the Eagles family from Poland. He was born for this role having grown up in this top tier family and has been winning everywhere he has played growing up. Anyone drafting Eagles will be getting the loyal fan base of the Eagles family and be part of the future legacy. Next will take the look at prospects ranked 6 to 10. 6. Tim Robinson (Tim Robinson), Left Wing for Miami 7. Alphonse Desjardins (Anthique), Defensemen for Ottawa 8. Boris Bone-Breaker (RileyL), Defensemen for Halifax 9. David Pastanap (Jubis), Right Wing for Houston 10. Meghan Dancalot (diacope), Left Wing for San Diego
  18. Any predictions for the minors?
  19. When can we expect a VHLE version??? This is great!
  20. Excited to answer the press conference for the Kings! 1) What is your personal goal for TPE per week? 14 TPE and no less! 2) Is there anything I can do to assist with that goal? Nope! 3) What type of player are you building - please discuss skills not position? Top defensive player with strong puck handling and skating 4) What would you like our team goal to be (playoffs, championship, fun locker room, etc)? Playoff bound with a fun and active locker room 5) Have any of you found the link between my first players name and my current players name, if so what is it? Both are cats 6) Why did you pick you players name? Is it significant? Yes! It is because Sam says I smell all the time!
  21. This is officially the full season debut and potentially last season for I-Smell. Samsayz just came off a great semi-final performance in his short stint for Houston and went on to join the Warriors to win the offseason JST trophy. After being drafted number 3 but Mexico City, Samsayz I-Smell is looking to have a big season this time and be a leading defensemen that helps lead Mexico City deep into the playoffs. He was the first first-gen player drafted and wants to reward the GM for making the right choice. Though I-Smell would have preferred to go last he will try hard to make sure his GM does not regret the selection. I-Smell is looking to fine tuning his defense and then really working on his skating and puck handling to have strong positive +- stats along with some good assists as a premier defensemen. Also he hopes to put in his amount of hits while making sure he does not have much turnovers as he looks to be showing the other younger rookies in Erhardt and Amnon as the three rookies plan to take the league by storm. The offense looks strong for the Kings and now the defense will determine how far the team will go.
  22. 2nd part claim as it is 1400+ words
  23. Mine is an oldie as well. 2014 C250 from my time in Seattle. Little fella still going strong
  24. 1. Yeah the front office stuff is fun. Not sure about draft picks but having Vice as an AGM rocks! 2. We need stronger defense. Need two great max defensiveman built and focused on defense and less on scoring and victory will follow! 3. That I am the first to enter and the last to leave. I need to out work everyone. 4. Recreates and offensive players - wings and centers. If you have to go defense make sure it is a recreate! 5. Utah I-Short (You Tall I Short) 6. Food that I would enjoy and wouldn't be one I would hate after eating a certain amount. And it needs to have a certain level of nutrition. I would say watermelon so I can stay hydrated.
  25. Can’t wait to see S95 one! This is a beauty!
