Ryan Power AKA Devise has been a prominent member of this league since joining back in season 24. His involvement in the progression of this league has varied through the years but he has played a pivotal role in where the league stands today. Before doing my research on Devise I only knew him as one of our main simmers.  A job he has done so well since the offseason of season 62 where he helped sim the WJC. This would lead to him becoming a full time simmer a couple seasons later and he has done a fantastic job ever since. After digging a little deeper and learning about his history in this league I have come to realize that his roots run a lot deeper than just being one of our go to Simmers.

Devise has been a General Manager a number of times in the VHL. His first stint as GM was with the New York Americans from S30-32. During his short stint he picked up two David Knight Trophies as well as a Continental Cup in S32. After this he took a 10 season hiatus before becoming the GM of the Cologne Express in S42. In his first season with the Express he won a Continental Cup and another David Knight Trophy. He would spend two more seasons in Cologne before leaving in S44. His General Manager resume doesn't end there as he rejoined the New York Americans in S51. Back with the Americans, Devise was able to win two more Continental Cups in seasons 52 and 53 while also claiming another David Knight Trophy in S52. After his time in New York ended in S54, Devise would GM again in S63 with the Toronto Legion. This would be his longest tenure with a team spanning 7 seasons and during this time he acquired two more Continental Cups and one more David Knight Trophy. Everywhere Devise went turned to gold. He won a championship during each of his tenures and has proven to be one of the greats.

During his 8 years in the VHL Devise has had varying success with his players. Like us all he has had his ups and downs and he does hold the title of being the "King of Scrub Tier Players." A few of the players Devise would consider scrubs would be Laich, Reikkinen and Humbert. Where Devise would strive with his players was in a position he didn't all that much care for...Goaltending! His most notable players through his tenure are JB and Skylar Rift. Both players of course being tendies and both having some degree of success in the VHL. The most notable of the two however is Skylar who took the league by storm back in S30 when he won Gold in the WJC. He followed up his success in season 31 with a Founders cup with the new expansion team Yukon Rush. Then in season 32 would win his first Continental Cup with the New York Americans as a rookie goaltender. This dubbed Rift as the fastest player to join the Triple Gold Club. This wouldn't be the end of Rifts success, in season 35 he went on to win his second Continental Cup, a Daisuke Kanou Tropy and Aidan Shaw Trophy with the Quebec Muete. Well on his way to a Hall of Fame career, Rift retired early and never did receive the call to the Hall.

One of the more important roles Devise has held in this league is being a member of the Board of Governors. As a new member back in season 24 Devise was very passionate and dedicated towards the VHL. A few seasons later that passion and dedication would pay off as Devise would join the ranks of the BoG. He soon learned after joining the BoG how much of a team effort it was to truly run a league like the VHL. I could only imagine how humbling of an experience this would end up being. Ryan was able to share his ideas with the other members of the BoG and play a pivotal part in the development of the league as it evolved over the years.

Lastly, I want to talk about the infamous Pajodcast. Back before podcasts were as big as they are now Devise and fellow member Jericho started podcasting together. Later on member Advantage joined the mix and the three of them created one of the most listened to podcasts in VHL history. All three were BoG members at some point during their time running the Pajodcast and used the podcast to interact with the VHL community. The Pajodcast ran for over 100 episodes and the three members of the podcast actually met in person for the 100th episode. Later on, they would take the Pajodcast to Youtube where they have recorded over nearly 2000 episodes of content from VHL videos, to gaming streams and even being used now for VHL Simming streams. This podcast help put Devise's name on the map and he created a couple of life long friendships because of it.

Devise has created a legacy in this league that is deserved of this HOF induction. From being a simmer to a member of the BoG he has thrived in any task put in front of him. I could go on and on about his history in this league. The league is a better place because of him and we could all learn a thing or two from a member like him. Congratulations on being inducted to the Hall of Fame @Devise
