:hel:Helsinki vs New York :nya: ''The DeGroot hands and legs trick''

The fans of New York Americans want to move on quickly. The Helsinki Titans won 6-1. The Titans were up 4-0 by the time the third period was around halfway point. The shots were close in the first two periods, but Americans failed to score. Titans shot 21 times and the Americans 18. Recently acquired forward Nico Pearce scored two goals in the first period. One short-handed and one the powerplay. Vasile Lamb managed to make it 4-1 when seven minutes was left of the game, but it was not enough for the Americans.

The third period was a tough period for the Americans. Helsinki shot 21 times, Americans only 4. The main reason behind such a lopsided third was the penalty minutes. New York took three two-minute minors in the third. The only bright spot for New York was the rookie Tavish DeGroot, who took four two-minute minors in the game. Tavish's versatility was praised as all the penalties came for different reasons. Few fans were so impressed that they even started to call such a feat as; ''The DeGroot hands and legs trick'' - a penalty for each limb.

Alex Johnston was named the first star of the game. 2+1 with 10 shots and 5 hits made him a constant force on the ice. Pearce was the second star with two goals. Magnus Veglander collected three assists and was given the third star.
