animal74 1,863 Posted February 21, 2022 Share Posted February 21, 2022 Even as Malmo veterans Druss Deathwalker @animal74 and Brendan Telker @Telkster are struggling after depreciation, the next generation of Nighthawks are stepping up and keeping Malmo afloat toward a playoff spot. Nathaniel Minion @Minion and Taylor Mourning @scoop are leading the team with 64 and 57 points respectively after 41 games. Mourning leads the team in goals with 25 and Minion is tops in assists with 42. Rookie Miroslav Tsarov @PadStack is having a fine rookie season with 36 points and is tied for second on the team with a +17 rating. With star goalie Artem Tretiak @Molholt, defenseman Addison McLaren @tcookie, and center Steve Eso @Eso all set to retire after S82 is there any help on the horizon? The most likely candidates to make the jump to the pros next season are blueliner Dabnad Shaw @Dabnad and goaltender Thomas Price @Thunderidge both of whom are developing nicely with the Geneva Rush in the VHLE. Shaw is showcasing his strength and physicality leading the Rush in penalty minutes with 86 to go with 111 hits in only 40 games. He is also playing well defensively and while his offense needs some work, he is a good passer as shown by his 14 assists. Price is providing strong play as one of the best backups in the league with a 3-6-1 record and a 0.917 save percentage. The Nighthawks are excited about Shaw, Price and all their other prospects and look forward to having them join the team soon!
