S84 VHL First Featured Game

 

Welcome to a brand new VHL season! Today we have our first featured game of Season 84 of the VHL! Our first featured game is indeed the very first game of the season. We have an all European match up, with the Prague Phantoms visiting the Helsinki Titans to start things off for Season 84.

 

The Helsinki Titans came to play tonight for their home fans after a long layoff offseason with no preseason to test the waters in for Season 84. Nezuko @Baozi opens the scoring for the VHL in Season 84. The goal for the Titans' mighty Left Winger came 1:37 into the first game of Season 84. Titans' veteran superstar Reylynn Reinhart @Ricer13 scores on the Power Play at 10:29 in the first period for her first goal of her final season. A goal that gives their rookie sensation Hammar Voss @BOOM his first point of his VHL career. Nezuko gets their second goal of the night and third point of the game just 19 seconds later at 10:48, giving the home team Helsinki Titans an early 3 - 0 lead. The Helsinki Titans finished the opening period outshooting the visiting Prague Phantoms 23 to 15 and out scoring 3 - 0. Titans lead 3 - 0 after one.

 

The Helsinki Titans continue their dominance in the second period. The Prague Phantoms found themselves hammered in their own end of the ice as the Titans fired in all cylinders at every angle. The Florida Man @zepheter solves Prague Phantoms' rookie netminder Alex Parise @Joker_TM at 13:42 into the second period to extend the Titans' lead to 4 - 0. The Helsinki Titans mustered 23 shots to the Prague Phantoms' 4 shots in the second period, as the Titans lead the first game of Season 84, 4 - 0 heading into the second intermission.

 

Nezuko completes their Hat Trick 6:29 into the third period to further extend the Titans' lead to 5 - 0. Reylynn Reinhart pots in another at 10:40 as the Helsinki Titans continue their domineering play in the Prague Phantoms' zone. Nico Pearce @Spartan scores their first of the new season at 16:34, and followed up with their second of the night less than a minute later at 17:19 to give the Helsinki Titans a 8 - 0 lead with less than three minutes to go in the third period. And then, Prague Phantoms' star player, Perry Laperriere @KaleebtheMighty breaks the silence and scoring their first goal of Season 84 at 18:23 in the third period, ruining the Helsinki Titans' best player and superstar goaltender Xavier Booberry's @CowboyinAmerica shutout bid. With the shots being 23 to 6 for the Helsinki Titans in the third period, the Titans should be ashamed of themselves for letting one slip by Xavier Booberry with less than two minutes left in the game.

 

The Helsinki Titans finished the first game of Season 84 with a 8 - 1 victory, outshooting the opposition Prague Phantoms 69 to 25.
