Welcome to another exciting season for the Vancouver Wolves hockey team after winning the Victory Cup last season the team tripped and stumbled in the first round against a very good Seattle Bears team; but still left a disappointing taste in the mouth for most around the organization. This once again lead to the team making some changes to the line-up and seeing the team keep the trend of shipping of captains of the team with no departed Sergey Preobrazhensky being traded Riga Reign; following the footsteps of Nico Pearce, Alex Leduc and Biggie Cheese.

After such a disappointing end to a great season one might expect sweeping changes to the captains but after some debate, we once again decided to let the team have a say in the Captains votes; even if I was leaning towards keeping the two remaining Captains in place and taking the vote only for the remaining Assistant Captain vacated by Sergey Preobrazhensky; but I am proud to say that the voice was load and clear from the locker room in their selections this season:

:que: Captain - D - Pierre Emile Bouchard  @Gaikoku-hito

Coming off a make-or-break season being named captain last season he did everything in his powers to help the team; which didn`t go unnoticed by the league brass as he received the Jake Wylde Trophy, Sterling Labatte Trophy and Dustin Funk Trophy. He will look to build on last season individual success but hope it translates more into team success this season.

:que: Assistant Captain - C - Dogwood Maple @dogwoodmaple

Finished 4th in team scoring last season and not to add too much pressure on the returning assistant Captain but will need to improve in his career high in points last season off 88pts if the team’s offense is going to be able to keep up with the rest of the league. The team’s offense will go as Maple goes after the team traded away LW – Nezuko (98pts), C - Sergey Preobrazhensky (96pts) and RW - Svatopluk Puk (89pts). It is an important season of player entering his fourth season.

:que:Assistant Captain - RW - Henry Eagles @Greg_Di

The new Captain and somehow not surprised that the team picked Eagles to lead this season as much like Maple; he will face some pressure to add to his impressive totals last season 81pts as he will also be counted onto file the void of the departed members of last season team. He has mentioned high expectations for himself this season so hopefully the trust of his teammates adds even more fuel to his fire to help carry the team this season. Great choice for a new captain this season.

Two returning Captains and a new assistant Captain will have a difficult task ahead this season with four new players on the roster trying to repeat the chemistry the team had last season leading to the Victory Cup and try to direct the team back to the Continental Cup. Who is going to be the Unsung hero this season or the shut-up and get on my back leader? In a few days a New Chapter of Wolves Hockey will be written lead by these three great Captains!!

I was tempted to say Quebec City Meute Leadership group as It would be nice to see a team back in Quebec!!
