Gaikoku-hito 1,646 Posted December 12, 2023 Share Posted December 12, 2023 (edited) S91 Vancouver Wolves Awards It was a difficult season for the Vancouver Wolves since the Management of the team decided to start a full rebuild during the previous off season but with a rebuild in place it allowed for some young and developing players to really shine this season and build confidences for the future. While we don`t know what this off season might hold we do know that we will have a bright future with more players joining the organization as we build Vancouver back towards being a competitive team. It should be an exciting off season …… Best Defenseman: Vancouver Wolves finished the season with only two defenders on the roster in Liv Slater and Astro Singh meaning they have a 50% chance of winning this award so who will win it after the departure of Brain Payne and Pierre Emile Bouchard the previous two winners: Spoiler Liv Slater @Subject056 10G – 52A – 62Pts The team defensive core was handed over to Slater this past off season and posted career highs across the board as one of the core pieces of the moving forward. It was a great step for Slater this season and Vancouver management will hope that she will take another step next season. Unsung Hero: All ways a hard award to hand out as it usually is very easy to see who the teams MVP is but who is the guy that lead the team behind the MVP; maybe goes a bit unnoticed through most of the season in which they contributes. Spoiler Lorenzo Cobberson @Hendrix Cobberson 19G – 45A – 64Pts Veteran forward brought into lead a younger core on and off the ice also lead the Vancouver Wolves in winning goals with six. Most like myself most likely missed this players ability to contribute as much as they did this season. Most Energetic: It was a tough season for the Wolves and active in the locker room just wasn`t the same as previous season but like every locker room someone always stands out for driving conversation be it positive or a good old ribbing ….. Spoiler Wann Kerr @VattghernCZ Even though he was traded for a bag of pucks to ……. London? He has made sure to come into the locker room every once and a while to drive conversation even write articles about some of the conversation taken out of context this season. Always nice to have the boys pop their heads into the locker room so it nice to see Kerr still coming around time to time. Most Valuable player: Every season one player leads by example on and off the ice. This year Vancouver Wolves asked a lot from one player and they answered the call not only leading the team is goals but also points while being appointed the new captain ….. Spoiler FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist @STZ 41G – 38A – 79Pts Asked to lead the Wolves this season and through the rebuild. Answered the call in a humble way and simple lead the wolves as management expected he would. Now time for management to reward such a class act by giving him some more help; right? (Least hits): Spoiler Juan Sano III @denns 16 hits It wasn`t me (Least PM): Spoiler Alexander Stroheim @Stroheim 10PIM Shoot the lights out (Most shots): Spoiler FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist @STZ 503 Shots Work Horse Award (AMG): Spoiler Justin Adolfsen @NJDevils24 2154 (29.93) Common Coach (Least played): Spoiler Timothy Swearingen @Timmy30 1013 (14.07) Bruised and Battered Award (SB Award): Spoiler Liv Slater @Subject056 208 SB Three Star Award: Spoiler FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY Analfist @STZ 280pts (5-1st Stars, 3 – 2nd Stars & 7 3rd Stars) I love the three-star aspect every season as it really justifies my selections for MVP and unsung hero awards and this season was no different with FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY, not being FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY of the MVP honors!! LOL!! Final Thoughts: Tougher year to handout these awards with a much different feel around the team due to the rebuild but hopefully that changes within a season or two as the team start to get prospects and excited about being competitive again; hopefully sooner than later.
