If you accept the reasoning for Lovstrom not being MVP last season, there is no reason to think MVP nominations and all-star spots should correlate. It has been decided that "most valuable" and "best" are only adjacent, and the all-star team is definitely on the side of "best"

 

(I would usually think an MVP nominee belongs on the first all-star team, but also my criteria for MVP tends a lot closer to "best" than the way the votes usually go)

Shoutout @flyersfan345 for being the sexiest d partner I could ever ask for, we’ve got a lot of seasons left in us, chemistry is going to be crazy… Chemistry in our DMs already speaks volumes

 

Shoutout @youloser1337 for being the solo stud of LA’s point production last season. I should be on my knees for you for all the points you helped Bubbles achieve for this award. Really excited to play with you throughout the rest of your career here.

 

And lastly shoutout @InstantRockstar for being a literal rockstar GM. Everyone on this team is so excited to win, the vibes have felt top notch since Bubbles was drafted here. LA is going to see a cup soon

The fact I'm even an MVP candidate is asinine considering the fact that not one but two goalies had much worse team support than Jørgen did and yet I'm even an option after being told that my team was too good around me a season ago.
