31 Days of Horror Challenge

Sandro

Recommended Posts

Anyone wanna join me on my 31 day sorta-marathon this October? I didn't quite finish last year, but I intend to watch all 31 movies on my list (one per day) this year. Thought it might be fun to have more people play along with me, we can talk about the movies and shit and get in the spirit of the month because Halloween is just the best. :D

I tried to get a mix of different sub genres of horror, as well as a mix of some classics I've already seen, classics I haven't seen, and a few newer releases. Here's the list as it stands right now (Sept 23), I'll update the OP if I make any changes:

i was thinking of doing something like this, this year... I think the 60s-70s era flicks, even if they may be considered "classic", may be tough to sit through.

Depends on what you go for, really. Some of them are tough to sit through just because they're a much slower pace than what we're accustomed to with modern movies, some because of really awful acting, and then there's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre which is still absolutely horrifying and I won't watch it anymore despite absolutely adoring it.

Bit unnecessary.

Not really, some of the guys have kids. Hard to really balance that. Not that I have kids but the reason some people can't commit to watching one of these movies every night is because sometimes life gets in the way of the TV.

No everyone doesn't have the time you have haha

Two hours a night? Oh no, that's so much. It's not like I sit around doing fuck all either.

Psycho and It Follows not on the list. Not legit.

Psycho was on last year's list, and I watched It Follows earlier this year ;)

Chill. I meant no disrespect. Just saying its hard for some to keep a schedule like this for a full month with movies.

If you felt it was a jab at you it wasn't, then again saying "everyones bitches" might be taken poorly too.

Pretty sure the :P implied I was joking around. I feel like I've known many of the people here long enough that we can make those kinds of jokes at each other.

I'm out of the country for half the month otherwise I'd try this with you. Luckily I have seen a solid chunk of the films already.

Definitely s good choice to start with BTW. Much love for the original Romaro Trilogy. Unfortunate that the dead series went downhill after the originals.

Yeah, I have a hard time judging Romero films fairly because of how he ruined his own series and how full of himself he is. Night was very solid, it obviously had its campy moments but there were quite a few that were incredibly effective at building tension and getting me on the edge of my seat. As I say in the video, the final "twist" on both the main character and the viewer was a real gut punch that I quite liked.
