Toast 887 Posted September 28, 2015 Share Posted September 28, 2015 This season has been full of a few surprises thus far, but it seems that some attention is going to just how surprising goalies can be in this league. And not in a good way this time around. For this edition of the Power Poll, we want to find out who you all believe to be the bigger disappointment thus far in the season. With the likes of Brock Waldron, Nicklaus Mikaelson, and even the rookie Greg Clegane leading the force for the goalies, it's surprising to see two prominent names from last season lower than those previously mentioned. Shaw winner Hans Wingate has struggled to start his season, and while a 91.2 save percentage and a strong record in the NA conference is admirable, it's just not the numbers that we were expecting to see from him this season. While it's far from an issue for Wingate, he could still be classified as the biggest surprise for goalies this season. Another surprise has to be Blake Campbell of the Vikings sitting near the bottom when it comes to stats. Campbell has been quite the goalie over the past few seasons, so it's surprising that he is off to such a rough start. Could it be the competition level in Europe? Kendrick 4,741 Posted September 28, 2015 Share Posted September 28, 2015 I'd say Wingate but not for obvious reasons. I don't think Campbell had the hype that Wingate had coming into the season. Not to mention I think Slaughter was a big reason the puck was in the other end for Stockholm, so now naturally more action is in Campbell's end. Wingate has a better roster in regards to depth.
