This season sucked. Plain and simple. We knew that it was going to be another down season after striking out in last year's offseason, but I think it actually worked in our favor. Of course, the main benefit from a bad season is that you end up with a nice draft pick, assuming you own your own - we do. That means we'll be bringing in a top four draft pick and this year, that means a high-end talent, regardless of pick. We will be bringing in someone who can contribute right away and make an impact on this team. That alone will be helpful.

We're also improving as a team each and every week. We have a nice young core that is committed to turning this thing around and I think we're right on the brink. The key for us this year is free agency. It won't be possible to mess up the draft, any of the top selections are winners. We need to hit a homerun in free agency, and I think we will. Part of our needs will be determined by the draft, but the biggest hole we've had is goalie, and we also need some defensive help. Hell, we could use more forwards as well - so we'll be surveying our options and trying to determine the best course of action. I have faith in the guys who are here already and I believe that we'll come out of the offseason in position to compete in the North American conference. We're sick of being at the bottom of the standings, so I think its time we turn this thing around.
