*You awaken, fully aware and yet unable to move. Confusion. Panic. Your surroundings aren't familiar. You don't know that however, you only know the darkness that surrounds you. It weighs heavy on your body. Distant at first, but growing, a voice booms out through the darkness, piercing all of your senses. You feel the reverberations on your body. You hear the words in your soul. You feel helpless.*

Three long seasons of suffering. Starting with nothing. Clawing for assets. Begging for deals. Toronto was the lowest of the low.

*Flames burst around you, surrounding you in a blue blaze of light. You cannot see beyond them, only yourself within them. They seem to be calling for you. Screaming. Wailing. The cries of agony and despair. You feel very alone, frightened. The flames reach out for you, just shy of your exposed skin. They dance, ever so close. You have no where to run, though even if you could, your body remains paralyzed. Perhaps by fear.*

From the flames of this dumpster fire rises a new challenger. A challenger worthy of destroying the VHL as we know it. The Toronto Legion.

NO MORE WILL WE SUFFER. NO MORE WILL WE BEG. WE WILL TAKE WHAT WE WANT. WE WILL SCORCH THE GROUND THAT WE WALK AS WE MARCH TOWARDS THE CONTINENTAL CUP AND NO MERE MORTAL WILL STAND IN OUR PATH WITHOUT BEING DESTROYED.

But we will still claw... no longer for assets, now we claw at your faces... your eyes... tear you limb from limb...

BECAUSE WE WILL RUIN EVERYONE THAT STANDS IN OUR WAY. THE AMERICANS? CAST TO THE BOTTOM OF THE STANDINGS! THE BEARS? THEY STAND NO CHANCE AGAINST OUR NUMBERS. THE TITANS? OOOOH THE TITANS. WE WILL CRUSH YOU INTO IRRELEVANCE AND BANISH YOU FROM THE LEAGUE FOR ETERNITY. THE VIKINGS WILL BEG TO BE ALLOWED TO SURVIVE OUR ONSLAUGHT, EVEN IF IT MEANS RETURNING TO VASTERAS.

How can you possibly hope to score on Hans Wingate? The goalkeeper spirits inside of him have pushed him to legendary heights on the ice. Alex Gegeny. Aidan Shaw. Alexander Labatte. Remy LeBeau. They empower him with the talent and skill of years past and future. He is imbued with the highest of calls, to lead this team to a Continental Cup. A call which will be met.

World B. Free? HAHAHAHAHAHA. YOUR WORLD ISN'T FREE. IT IS OURS! YOU ARE NOW UNDER OUR COMMAND. YOU WILL LAY DOWN YOUR WEAPONS AND WATCH AS WE TAKE HOLD OF OUR RIGHTFUL PRIZE, THE CONTINENTAL CUP.

You've done well so far, with your pitiful attempts to stop us. But 11 points in the standings. 26 goals for. 30 point differential. These figures will only get worse as you try to fight back.

*A laugh, small at first and then a roaring, thunderous noise that shakes you to your core.*

Edwin. EDWIN! Come forth. You think you can lead the league in points? Do you think that will be allowed? YOU HAVE EARNED YOUR OWN DEMISE. YOU MAY COME BACK FROM THE DEAD AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO BANISH YOU BACK TO YOUR CAGE, WHERE YOU WILL RESIDE FOR ETERNITY.

The pain you will all feel that oppose us. The suffering you will undergo. You might as well clear the path now and hope for mercy. Because this league is ours now. WELCOME TO THE TORONTO HOCKEY LEAGUE.

*The flames vanish and once again you find yourself in darkness. Drenched in sweat from the flames, yet chilled to the bone, as if all of your life force has been drained, stripping you of any warmth. The voice returns now, as nothing more than a whisper, though its as loud and clear as ever within you.*

Oh, oh one more thing. Victor... old, fragile Victor... You. You and your precious Clegane minion. Him. Him and his brother. You will all meet the worst fate. You will all meet a worse fate than imaginable. We have something special planned for you. You shouldn't have tried to force our hand. You shouldn't have fallen so madly in love with power. WE WILL SHOW YOU TRUE POWER. YOU WILL SEE THE ERROR OF YOUR WAYS. YOU WILL BEG, BUT YOU WILL BE SHOWN NO MERCY.

*Silence. Cold, dead silence as you lie in the dark. Stirs of noises pick up around you, as you realize you aren't alone. More panic. You test your limbs, they work, you crawl into a ball to protect yourself. You realize that others around you are doing the same. Teammates.. General Managers.. League Officials.. all members of the Victory Hockey League. All afraid. Some in tears. Some drenched in sweat. Shivering. All witness to the event that just took place. All worried, about the future ahead.*
