For the second time in as many seasons, star defenseman Jeff Hamilton is set to test VHL  free agency. Last year he decided to stick with the Seattle Bears, which ended up being a poor decision. This time around, Hamilton is again keen on two things: winning a Continental Cup and a shot at playing with good forwards so there will be statistics capable of winning a Labatte Trophy.

"Jeff really enjoyed his time in Quebec and was open to re-signing with the team as he enjoyed the players there and believed them to be a competitive team. Unfortunately there's been little to o communication with the team's leadership since the season ended. The General Manager appears to want to go in another direction and Jeff won't play for Quebec without Clegane and Koponen both being there," player agent Sterling Labatte said about negotiations thus far, or lack thereof.

Calgary, Cologne, New York and Toronto have expressed interest so far and the front runners at this time are Cologne, New York and Toronto. Free Agency is still fresh however and much can change before Hamilton makes his decision.
