*a typical rebuilding team*

Remember this poll? Of course not. Basically, I was asking for member opinions about the rebuilding teams. And majority of them voted Davos as the most upcoming team, but let's see now if they were right...

1. They were right. Davos indeed bursted into the scene in S55. Unfortunately, their contending period was cut short, but that's another story to tell;

2. The second place was Calgary. That was a mistake as it was Riga which made a blockbuster move with NY in S56 and started to compete;

3. Calgary and Toronto also came in S56, but both of them were worse than Riga at that time;

4. Cologne got destroyed and contracted.

For now I'm going to do the same thing. I'll choose 5 teams that are either may start/started a rebuild or are in the middle period of it. These teams are: Helsinki, Quebec, Riga, Seattle and Toronto. Why not Davos? Well, they should compete starting from the next season so I didn't include them here. Let's start.

:hel:HELSINKI TITANS:hel:

GM: @Higgins

Picks:

S61 HSK 1st

S61 HSK 4th-8th

S62 HSK 1st

S62 HSK 3rd

S63 HSK 1st

S63 HSK 2nd

S63 HSK 3rd

Even if we wrote Helsinki off, they still managed to find a chance to compete, but for now enough is enough. 5 out of 9 players are retiring, including a goalie Jacob so there is no reason to compete again. Especially if Helisnki has a S61 first round pick. This team has no prospect yet, but they still can sell some of older players for nice picks. In my opinion, Shephard and Aye Aye Ron could even bring some firsts and Pablo is also worth a nice price. With three firsts in three drafts + GM player + potentially even more valuable assets this team will be on a decent rebuilding position. Before this season kicked off, Higgins told me (probably jokingly...or not) that this rebuild could be a long one, but maybe it's not that bad.

:que:QUEBEC CITY MEUTE:que:

GM: @Beaviss

Picks:

S61 QUE 1st

S61 QUE 2nd

S61 NYA 2nd

S61 CGY 3rd

S61 QUE 4th-8th

S62 QUE 1st

S62 QUE 2nd

S62 HSK 2nd

S62 QUE 3rd

S63 QUE 1st

S63 QUE 2nd

S63 3rd

+Beau Louth

The only team in midst of the rebuild is Quebec. We can say what we want about his off season trades, but his team is still in a good position and it's likely they will be the first team on this list that goes to compete. They already have some good prospects like Dragomir, Zhields and Iseault. With three more firsts and bunch of secondaries Quebec is on right path and I expect them to compete in two seasons max. Didn't even mention a GM player Beau Louth who's going up when the time comes. I like their chances.

:rig:RIGA REIGN:rig:

GM: @ very inactive LR

Picks:

S61 RIG 1st

S61 CGY 1st

S61 SEA 1st

S61 QUE 3rd

S61 RIG 4th-8th

S62 CGY 1st

S62 RIG 1st

S62 SEA 2nd

S62 RIG 2nd

S62 RIG 3rd

S62 SEA 3rd

S63 RIG 1st

S63 RIG 2nd

S63 RIG 3rd

+ a GM player

Riga is a team that starts a rebuild following this season. I have no prospects so far, but three S61 firsts already gives me a chance to kick off a rebuild with a bang. Also, having a Quebec's third might help too. In total, I have six firsts in three seasons and some chances on drafting a steal with my secondary picks. Plus a GM player obviously. I may act like a humble man here, but the team is in a good position to make a rebuild a smooth ride. As about players that will play in S61, only Lane could have at least some value since Advantage still didn't claim 100+ TPE and he still could be a decent second pair def.

:sea:SEATTLE BEARS:sea:

GM: @Banackock

Picks:

S61 TOR 1st

S61 SEA 4th-8th

S61 SEA 2nd

S61 SEA 3rd

S62 SEA 1st

S63 SEA 1st

S63 SEA 2nd

S63 SEA 3rd

+a GM player

Kinda hard to predict if 'Cock will actually make a fire sale or just going to use that Toronto first to draft a youngster who's ready for the VHL and continue to fight for the glory. It wouldn't surprise me to be honest. But if he indeed will sell? Well, Seattle has a decent amount of good players that can be sold for a really nice price, McAllister in particular. So if that happens, Seattle may find themselves already in a good rebuilding position, probably fighting with Riga to be a second team after Quebec. We shall see what the Bears' GM is going to do in the off season.

:tor:TORONTO LEGION:tor:

GM: @DollarAndADream

Picks:

S61 NYA 1st

S61 TOR 2nd

S61 HSK 2nd

S61 HSK 3rd

S61 TOR 3rd

S61 RIG 3rd

S61 TOR 4th-8th

S62 TOR 1st

S62 TOR 2nd

S62 TOR 3rd

S63 TOR 1st

S63 TOR 2nd

S63 TOR 3rd

+Sebastian Ironside

Toronto is the team with the most unclear path out of all 5 teams. Dollar already had hard times with rebuilding, but his first attempt was successful as the Legion was a force in S58-59. How about this time? Not sure. They have a S59 player Tribuncovs and a GM player Ironside, but this is it. S60 picks didn't pan out as Jepox and Shaka can't find a time to sim leagues other than SBA and Molholt...well, he's also an SBA dude. Toronto still has three firsts in 3 seasons, but for now it actually depends on how the GM is good with finding diamonds in the rough as he has a bunch of secondary picks. If he does it, the team is in a decent position. If not, only selling Tribuncovs could put Toronto back on track.

So this was my opinion the rebuilding (potential rebuilding teams). Feel free to voice your vision on these teams here. And seems like I almost hit 1000 words so I need to know if I can claim doubles from the same article next week since I also have the doubles from a lottery. @Will

That's it and I'm out.

6x2=12+6(?or 12) from doubles TPE goes to Krīgars

I think Quebec will be contending first.

Yeah, for me it's been a little tough this go around. When I became GM, I had Sokolov...then had Boeser and drafted Ironside, 2 of my own players. THat was already #1 D, G, and F right at the start. I only truly contended maybe 2-3 seasons though as a favourite, because of the whole Locke/Krigars thing with your team keeping me down lower in favor.

I went full SBA with my S60 picks, and while Shaka has kind of been gone, I've already been told to expect at least some sort of activity out of Molholt and Jepox. Hard to say, though. Tribuncovs became a diamond in the rough for me, but considering when I drafted him I might have to sell him for more future assets instead, and maybe even Paul DiMirio from S58.

My future plans with those 2 I think depends on BoG discussions on whether the career clock starts after the draft or entering the VHL.
