So firstly, I know, I know. Where art thou, or whatever, Speculatoria. It's called I worked all week in the blistering hot sun, then proceeded to have my sisters birthday Friday, then drank my face off Saturday. Here we sit, Sunday, with zero motivation and only the urge to make myself another coffee and dig into the ham pepperoni sticks that my girlfriend bought a few days ago that I only discovered yesterday whilst chugging liquor. Today, we got the Free Agency market opening up, so Seattle of course threw in a couple bids and likely will have more to come to keep our newcomers happy and have them playing on a little stronger of a team (and by little we mean, rolling with them 30 TPE inactives). Next, we have the draft tonight - so as you can see, it's going to be a fairly busy, yet exciting day if you're a manager in this league. What's more exciting for me is that finally, I get to recreate and make some new players that will bring in the rebuild 100% for Seattle. Yes, those rape trades only brought it in 99%. So the question for me is, what are we going to recreate as?

1. A goalie and that's if Seattle doesn't take Sterling or Aamo in the draft. Sterling is our #1 choice on the board. He's a huge member, contributor and blah blah. It's fucking @Will, okay? Enough said. On the flip side, Daniel has proven he hungry this go around, but as he even stated, this is his 2nd active player heading into a draft and he has had more players than I have toes. Speaks volume, speaks risk - so it'll be nice to see where he goes. Seattle? Toronto? Possibly Riga? Either way, I see him doing well, just stick with it. So for me to recreate as a goalie, both these players would have to be off the board and a d-man would also have to be on the team I'd imagine. The way I see it, next year I can always draft my other, other player in a later round as a goalie as 99% of teams will have a goalie then. Smart, huh?

2. D-man. You can never go wrong with recreating your GM player as a d-men. They're hard to come by and you control what he becomes. You can be the team stud on the blue line or you can be that depth guy if you already have the stud. This could be the case of @street Samuel Gate goes 1st overall to the Seattle Bears. I'd team up with him on the back end, knowing all-to-well what kind of player he's going to become and I can sit back, be that effective depth guy and once I hit a certain point, bank that TPE to fight shit off come the end of my career. The more I think of this plan, the more I like it.

3. A center. Like D-men, this one makes sense too... UNLESS.. Seattle takes @Victor Poddy Cast 1st overall.. Or 4th? or 8th? or 14th? Even if we did, would it hurt to do the same thing we would maybe with Gate at #1? Maybe we could create a secondary centre to Victor and again, control the depth and have a solid, lower piece hanging out on the second line. OR, maybe just maybe, we grab Thompson @Beketov and we become the middle man for him. He scores, I pass. I shoot, he gets the rebound and scores. That kinda shit entices me also.

4. A winger. Wouldn't mind doing  winger and this could be the case if Cast comes to Seattle and then we pick up say @pennypenny or Sterling at 4th overall. Then again, could 8th overall also determine what's going to happen? If it was going to be a winger, he's heavily going to be aggressive on the scoring side - though, a pass first guy makes sense too as everyone else in this league doesn't know how to. Gotta get that 99 SC, 40-80 PA.

600+ words, +6 for Forsberg

With King retiring and Brodeur not having done any PTs in the last two months? I wouldn't be so sure on that.

But 2 goalies are replacing them tbh and Brody is still young-ish and #1 in Davos. No?

Well the goalies in the league would be:

Arkander

Stopko

Brodeur

Sterling

Aamo

Isault

So that's only six goalies across eight teams heading into the S62 Draft (although Donno's goalie is also looking very promising at this moment, it's still early days). Heading into that draft, Brodeur would be facing the first bout of regression and, if he's still at the TPE he is now, that might take him to the point where he's not considered a goalie who can win a cup (Kinda like Zhumbayev for Cologne back in the day).

Plus, you don't have any late S62 picks to my knowledge. That probably wouldn't be too difficult to come by back in the day, but I'm pretty sure you've traded all your players from last season now. Maybe you could get some for an inactive Free Agent at some point down the line, but like I say, certainly not a given by any stretch.

Well, know now that you picked Thompson at 1st! :)Solid choice. Interesting how amazing Cast and Preencarnacion are doing together as rookies in Riga.

Sterling went right before Aamo too, so you were right about those rankings as well.
