My wife's family makes me stay up until 4am so I can visit my blood relatives like the walking dead.

Some uncapped tpe. Ain't nobody saying no to that.

Wolves are giving away free costco gift cards and 6 packs of cheap shitty beer. Take what you can get?

A christmas story, Santa Clause or Miracle on 34th street (the 90s one).

I think Silent Nights is always interesting. Also Baby it's Cold Outside despite it being almost cancelled recently.

Not really but there's always a dinner which is nice.

I had Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts so I naturally gifted him performance enhancers and a 200 pack of bandaids.

Woah Nelly!! Vancouver is off to the races!!

 

While most would expect that the defending champions might come out of the blocks firing on all cylinders and looking to put a stamp or exclamation mark on their championship; who would have predicted this hot of a start. Either way let’s get into some of the questions of this week’s Press Conference:  

 

1.     Over the holiday period one of my favorite things to do is relax and watch the World Juniors amongst other sporting events; Do you watch the World Juniors and do you think the best team won the tournament?

 

2.     Canada meltdown or Media over reaction? After the World Junior team has finished 5th in the past two tournaments do you think the media is over reacting or does Hockey Canada has a few issues that they need to fix?

 

3.     Vancouver Wolves sit a top of the NA Conference as I write this and tied for First overall in the league? Did you expect such a hot start and where do you see Vancouver finishing the season?

 

4.     Who is currently Vancouver Wolves MVP through 18 games? Why?

 

5.     Who has been the most surprising player on the team so far this season and why?

 

6.     With three Vancouver Wolves in the top 10 of scoring and two more just outside of the top 10; do you think any Vancouver Wolve will win an award this season? Who and what award?

Yeah I watched.  I do think USA was best put together team.

I do think it's a couple things.  I think Canada picked a group of players (mostly from east) based maybe on who knows who and left some real talent not even invited to camp. Lots of first rounders from WHL left off and not sure about coaching staff.  I also think the world has caught up a bit on Canada's dominance.  Finland, US, Russia all putting out some real talent now so I think its a bit of both

 

3.     Vancouver Wolves sit a top of the NA Conference as I write this and tied for First overall in the league? Did you expect such a hot start and where do you see Vancouver finishing the season?

 

 I see us battling for the top spot for sure.  We have a balanced club and lines are clicking.  I expect a few ups and downs but we always finish strong. 

 

4.     Who is currently Vancouver Wolves MVP through 18 games? Why?

 

3 way tie.  PMB @Gaikoku-hito, Guntis @Girts, and Bollos @Thunder are killing it!!

 

5.     Who has been the most surprising player on the team so far this season and why?

 

I think PMB for sure.  I knew he would continue to blossom after a great showing last year but this year he's taking it to new level.  Top 10 in scoring and great on face-offs.  

 

6.     With three Vancouver Wolves in the top 10 of scoring and two more just outside of the top 10; do you think any Vancouver Wolve will win an award this season? Who and what award?  I hope so!!!!  Be nice for the club.  I think @Girts and @Thunder will in the consideration for Wylde and Dman trophies.  Best Two-way could be Riley.

yes I watch the wjc, in between Bruins games.  I record all the games so i can skip through commercials and period breaks.  And of course the best team won the tournament but it was a little scary for a while.

The whole country has a few issues and you can tell because hockey canada is having issues.  What’s up with the coach?  He’s like the New England Patriots coach.  He sucks.

I half expected a start like this because we have the best forwards in the league, the best goalie in the league, and the best defenseman in the league.  Soju and Girts, along with Martin, Ninefingers, and PMB, and Stefano and the others as well.  We cant go wrong.

 

4.     Who is currently Vancouver Wolves MVP through 18 games? Why?

 

I’m gonna have to go with Guntis Gavilrovs because he is lighting it up this season and he is brave enough to drop the gloves and go toe to toe with anyone.

 

5.     Who has been the most surprising player on the team so far this season and why?

 

I’m going to say Eno Velvson surprised me the most because he is scoring a lot and also doing some hitting.  

 

6.     With three Vancouver Wolves in the top 10 of scoring and two more just outside of the top 10; do you think any Vancouver Wolve will win an award this season? Who and what award?

 

Guntis Gavilrovs is going to win the best defensive defenseman award.  He’s a beast.  He might even get the most hits this season, and he sure as hell is going to win a ton of fights.

1. Big fan of the world juniors, I was happy to see Latvia do so well (sorry Canada). Yes I think the US was the best team in the tourney this year, was an exciting gold medal game. 

 

2. Canada should always be the best, so I do think there is an issue with management and they need to make changes and medal next year. 

 

3. We are the best so I did expect this and I expect us to finish #1 at the end of the season but Calgary are being jerks and won't go away. 

 

4. Gotta give to my guy Bollos de Trueno he has been sensational! 

 

5. Im not surpised by anyone because we are all great, but Bollos leading the team in scoring from D is a bit unexpected, yes very impressive. 

 

6. I think we will win some awards, would be great to see Bollos and Guntis win both D awards and I think Soju could win the goalie award.

I've only ever been able to watch when I've had time off. I also feel my interest peaks if there's a generational talent participating.

There's a lot of issues even if you ignore the off ice sex assault allegations. Canadian goaltending has been mid for a while now. But even as a Canadian I don't mind them not winning or being upset sports is more interesting without one team constantly dominating. 

 

3.     Vancouver Wolves sit a top of the NA Conference as I write this and tied for First overall in the league? Did you expect such a hot start and where do you see Vancouver finishing the season?

I knew we had a good team but with the league parity its always hard to tell how well you'll do and add in that the NA is especially strong right now. It makes things that much more unpredictable. I hope we don't win the victory cup.

 

 

4.     Who is currently Vancouver Wolves MVP through 18 games? Why?

That's a really tough obe especially since the team hasn't had real stand out everyone is contributing. Ask me again after 72 games.

 

5.     Who has been the most surprising player on the team so far this season and why?

I think PMB keeping pace with both Logan and Riley surprised me in a good way. Also Bollos and Guntis both dominating offensively which is hard to do for dmen on the same team.

I hope so and I don't care as long as a F or D gets an award its been a while @Subject056 was the last skater to win an award and that was during our rebuilding seasons.

1. I don't watch must of the world juniors. It was become more competitive over the past few years which is nice, but its still mainly a 2-3 team tournament which isn't always fun to watch. 

 

2. Hockey Canada isn't taking the best players to the world juniors and its showing. 

 

3. I expected our team with the top talent we have along with the younger roster players coming into their own.

 

4. Our top defenseman in Bollos and Guntis.

 

5. Soju. I didn't expect a .922 save percentage when i looked just now.

Here we are after a tough hard-fought game against Calgary Wranglers so it made me wonder about Vancouver rivals or do we really have any or anyone? Also I thought it was supposed to be Theme week but I guess I am wrong so let touch on this as well I guess!!

 

1.     Who would you consider the Vancouver Wolves main rival? Why?

 

2.     Does your player have a rival from another team or someone that they just cannot stand? Why

 

3.     Would you count Calgary Wranglers as Vancouver Wolves main rival this season? Why or why not?

I’d say Seattle first and then Calgary.  Division rivals that are close in proximity.

1. I think it's usually Seattle, but they stink this year so it's more Calgary especially with the recent bench clearing brawl where we beat all their players up and I beat two guys up at once. 

 

2. It changes game to game, there's usually a player Guntis hates on every team so hard to choose one. 

 

3. Yes because we have been flip flopping with them for #1 most of the season in the standings, but they are generally a small and weak team who loses fights, so can't really rival us, but they've been winning games and won't go away

Seattle because it's close geographically and they've had a strong team for a long time. I despise them.

I cannot stand Van G2. I just know he'll be stealing Soju's thunder late in the season.

I always have Seattle as number one but Calgary is like a 1a in the rivalry category. Since I've been GM we always seem to be competitive at the same time.

They score on the empty net once the other has been pulled.

It's probably being decided on right now. My best guess is no bueno. Whatever the previous answers were.

I would like a rivals theme week since that was a few of the PC questions this week. But it also feels like we might have dobe that in the last 5 seasons?

 I was a small child when that was happening but I know Colorado had Claude Lemieux and Detroit had their fair share of goons. Also both teams were constantly in contention.
