DMaximus 1,046
One of the most important factors when drafting a player is to determine their future growth and potential long-term contribution to a franchise. Most rookies are not going to make an immediate impact to a team, but if you draft the right players, they could be the reason your franchise is hoisting the cup high above their heads in a couple of seasons. I wanted to add to the S66 draft class evaluation by looking at recent TPE earning amongst all S66 prospects. I separated players into groups based on when they were last updated. All rankings are taken from the VHL Scouting Center S66 Live Draft Ranking Thread on the morning of April 1. The Bad Completely AWOL - Do Not Draft!! - These players have not updated since the week of March 3rd. There should be no expectation that these players will return to the league. If you draft this player, expect they will never see the ice on your team. Rank Player Name TPE Team Nat. When a player chooses to miss the entire scouting camp, it usually indicates they are looking into other lines of work. Some players have ambitions outside of professional hockey. It appears these players are pursuing those other ambitions and leaving their hockey dreams behind. Some may choose to return to hockey after exploring life outside of hockey and realizing hockey is their life. Rank Player Name TPE Team Nat. Some players choose to skip the public pre-draft workout for various reasons. Most of the time, it indicates future trouble for the player. GMs may want to have a conversation with the players to get additional insight into where the head of the player is at. Rank Player Name TPE Team Nat. These are new players that have shown they want to put forth the hard work required to become a VHL player. (They all rank below 50 but added more than 10 TPE the week of Mar 31). GMs may want to remember these players during the later rounds in the draft. LW - Cody Smith D - Guillaume Fontenette LW - Devin Gabella RW - AJ Axelsen LW - Dylan Doyle I want to thank @Tagger and the rest of the VHL Scouting Center for their hard work keeping all the live draft rankings up to date. If I could make one suggestion, it would be helpful to add additional columns to the live draft rankings that give the week the player last updated and the amount of TPE they added that week. I understand this may not be feasible because of the increased workload on the scouting center and the information is tracked in the live ranking thread but it would be helpful information to see on the main ranking table. 1,223 Words TPE for weeks ending 4/7 and 4/14. It's probably something that I can pretty easily implement into my weekly rankings, I'll see if I can add it in for next week's. rjfryman 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/60551-s66-player-update-analysis-12/#findComment-603710 Share on other sites

Sorry, I didn't include the list of players that updated the week of Mar 31 for less than 10 TPE. There's 25 of those players. I stupidly deleted all the spreadsheets I created to make this article, but I'll see if I can figure out that list of those remaining 25 players again. TheLastOlympian07 2,388
Review Another great article. It was very informative and obviously a lot of work went into it considering you had to look up every player. Good stuff and keep up the good work.
