Knight 1,344
Another Moscow legend, Jarmo Ruutu, is retiring at the end of this season. What mark do you feel he has left on the franchise? @jRuutu is an absolute legend and will be remembered as such. Greatest Moscow player of this generation. How would you expect fans to react to the final regular season game for Ruutu and Obuz? They won't give them a send off because they have business to do in the playoffs. They'll play their final game celebrating a championship. Should we dodge (or should we have dodged) the victory Cup? Naw get those trophies on the player pages, it looks better! There's nothing you can do to avoid Simon's randomness anyway. Would your player argue with fans on social media? He stays the hell away from social media. Probably because he'd spend countless hours arguing with fans. Which team do you think would have the most annoying fans to argue with? There's something about the Seattle Bears that makes me feel like they'd have the most annoying fans. Who's with me? How would you try to assert yourself with opponents on the ice in our first playoff game? Go and score early and often. Can't let the goalies get into a routine. You can physically impose on the other team later in the series if you have to, but it's imperative to score early. Probably just general disappointment as they all have wanted to see Obuz traded for at least 12 seasons. 3. We won it! Might as well break a curse! 4. They don't have any social media for the safety of fans as it would be violent 5. Davos, their GM is a prick. 6. just a two handed cup check to whoever is in front of the net. I think the CGY/SEA rivalry has more to it, but MOS/DAV isn't far off! 2. I think it's really hard to line match us. We have enough firepower that if they try to cut off one line, the other comes swinging. That game it seems as though they couldn't stop either unit. 3. I think I'd prefer HSK. I think they're not quite as cohesive as a group yet as RIG is. 4. I always try to make sure River is alert and ready, but it's mostly just messing with OCO. 5. Under-ripe banana, some day old rice, and a boatload of ground beef. An avocado cubed in there, and some sriracha for kick. 6. I leave the pranking to Grape, he's never been traded to WAR, so he must know how to play the line at this point. I think MOS/RIG is stronger in the EU, but there are NA conference rivalries that feel deeper overall. 2. Sibling power, both of them have 4 goals in 2 games. What can you do when the siblings are playing out their final ride together before Catia retires? 3. There's no weak opponents in the playoffs. Even the "worst" playoff team in LDN managed to take a game off Davos in a shutout. 4. Obuz definitely ambushes me with something in his hand, salty, but don't think it's smelling salts.... 5. The blood and tears of my opponent. But realistically varies a bit, can't be opposed to a nice sandwich or some salmon and pasta. 6. I don't really think you could prank me, but I could certainly get the bus into a tizzy if I get on aux. flyersfan345 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/62309-moscow-menace-press-conference/page/61/#findComment-1059677 Share on other sites
BOOM 9,184
Another Moscow legend, Jarmo Ruutu, is retiring at the end of this season. What mark do you feel he has left on the franchise? Terrific player that has helped the Menace to stay a force in the VHL for an extended period of time. How would you expect fans to react to the final regular season game for Ruutu and Obuz? If it's on home ice, I expect there will be Stoli bottles and Putin fridge magnets raining down from the stands. Should we dodge (or should we have dodged) the victory Cup? I haven't checked the index for half a season, did you win it? Would your player argue with fans on social media? No, he's more likely to just straight out threaten them. Which team do you think would have the most annoying fans to argue with? The Americans....have you ever met a New Yorker that's wrong? How would you try to assert yourself with opponents on the ice in our first playoff game? Well that playoff game has come and gone for Adi, and he barely made a whimper. Maybe game 3 he does something useful Spartan 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/62309-moscow-menace-press-conference/page/61/#findComment-1059690 Share on other sites
Knight 1,344
We have Davos yet again, but we're off to a hot start. Is this the strongest rivalry in the VHL? When you sweep a team, can you really call that a rivalry? Maverick starts the playoffs hot with a game 2 hatty in an 8 goal game for the Menace. What has this offense coming out swinging? This current generation of Moscow players has always been driving offence at a high level. Do you prefer any specific opponent in the upcoming round(s)? Personally I think Riga has always been a tough team to beat for me. So naturally I'd prefer Davos. Do you ambush any teammates with smelling salts on the bench? As a leader it's my responsibility to ensure players are set up for success. If it has to be done, it has to be done. What's your pregame meal? Whatever my nutritionist tells me it should be, otherwise pizza will be consumed at a rate that's unsustainable for a professional athlete. How would you prank @Spartan on road trips? Tell him there is one and then don't show up. Works every time. We were the better team on paper and showed that without much fuss. It’s good to make that statement and set the pace. 2. We started quite hot as a whole. It’s important to have everyone involved, but we have to keep that going and have the energy to defend our position and keep the intensity up if our goal scoring ability slows down. 3. Not really, as I’ve said before I believe we’re the team to beat and we have to keep playing like it. 4. I would want that to happen to me, so I’d refrain to do that to anyone else. 5. Either something protein or carbohydrate based. I love the Mediterranean diet so a pasta would be high on that ranking. 6. Nope, nope, nope. I would not be a part of that dangerous game unless my contract is ending. TenIQ 64
1. We have Davos yet again, but we're off to a hot start. Is this the strongest rivalry in the VHL? I guinenly only started paying attention to the VHL once OCO got called up, so I am unsure what rivalries I should compare this to. 2. Maverick starts the playoffs hot with a game 2 hatty in an 8 goal game for the Menace. What has this offense coming out swinging? I know, we are very impassioned for the Contential this year! The team has been super excited and nothing gets a team moving like the idea that we could win it all! 3. Do you prefer any specific opponent in the upcoming round(s)? Im a goalie, so my only real opponent is the puck flying at my face. 4. Do you ambush any teammates with smelling salts on the bench? Yes, mid game I'll tackle Deadpanda to the ground and shove the tub in his mouth. 5. What's your pregame meal? Banana, Bagel, Bacon and a Powerade 6. How would you prank @Spartan on road trips? jacobcarson877 2,700
Since our wonderful AGM is off running a new team now, I'll throw some questions out there! 1. We're in the finals! How does your player handle the pressure of the biggest stage in the VHL? 2. What would you do for a Continental Cup win? 3. In a time like this, do you prefer to butter up Simon, or curse his very existence? 4. The team has to send someone to do an intermission interview, who should we be sending in, and will we be putting pucks in deep? 5. Have you been surprised by anything so far in the VHL playoffs? 6. How's that playoff beard coming? TenIQ 64
1. We're in the finals! How does your player handle the pressure of the biggest stage in the VHL? He handles it fine, OCO was never one for popularity, his love for the game alone drives him to play. The added attention of being the Backup goalie has not been fun for him but he's happy to see his team succeed never the less. 2. What would you do for a Continental Cup win? Im not playing in the games so I am just here to support my team! I'm the leauges best cheerleader! 3. In a time like this, do you prefer to butter up Simon, or curse his very existence? Curse his very existence. Simon is my greatest op and I hope he rots. 4. The team has to send someone to do an intermission interview, who should we be sending in, and will we be putting pucks in deep? I think it would be smart to send in our favorite Goalie, Deadpanda. There is not enough goalie representation in the interviews and it would be cool to send out a goalies perspective of the game. They are the eyes of the team after all. 5. Have you been surprised by anything so far in the VHL playoffs? Not particularly. I've seen a pretty standard playoff series this go round. I am shocked however, that we let Calgary win anything. 6. How's that playoff beard coming? That's funny, OCO hasn't been able to grow a beard ever, much to his detriment, everyone else is growing one! Knight 1,344
1. We're in the finals! How does your player handle the pressure of the biggest stage in the VHL? Rashford handled it by piggybacking off better players than him, some of which are still leading the charge in Moscow. 2. What would you do for a Continental Cup win? Ungodly things. Rashford was lucky enough to get one cup during his career, but one was definitely not enough. The drive to win never changes. 3. In a time like this, do you prefer to butter up Simon, or curse his very existence? Maybe I should butter the man up. In the early days I felt like I had a ton of bad sim luck which resulted in fewer championships than I thought I should have. Lube might be the way to go. 4. The team has to send someone to do an intermission interview, who should we be sending in, and will we be putting pucks in deep? Send Rutuu and his Finnish way of speaking will make people be so disinterested by the end of the second sentence that when he finally says pucks have to go deep no one will be listening anymore. 5. Have you been surprised by anything so far in the VHL playoffs? That Moscow hasn't already won the Continental Cup. 6. How's that playoff beard coming? Clean shaven baby, I ain't got skin in the game. jacobcarson877 2,700
1. Well, that didn't exactly end how we all hoped. What was the biggest difference maker in that finals? 2. What does your off-season "revenge" training look like? 3. The off-season is a chance for some major moves. Who is one player you'd love to have join the Menace? 4. Money can get tight as we work towards the best roster possible. How does your player help make sure we have the funds for such an effort? 5. Surprise! How season 100, instead of a regular season we're doing a 100-player battle royale! 100 nets, 100 players, 1 puck. Who do you think gets the victory royale? 6. It was Star Wars day yesterday, and Cinco de Mayo today. Do you do anything for either of those days, and if so, what? TenIQ 64
1. Well, that didn't exactly end how we all hoped. What was the biggest difference maker in that finals? Simon was the biggest difference maker, I believe we had the stronger team, however simon often favors the more... Unique lines, so it was difficult to adapt in the short time frame 2. What does your off-season "revenge" training look like? My player loves himself a game of hockey in his hometown, over the offseason he goes home and fancies himself a couple games with the kids he grew up playing with. 3. The off-season is a chance for some major moves. Who is one player you'd love to have join the Menace? OCO would love to play on a team with Matthew Highmore of the Vancouver Wolves. They joined the leauge together and would love some ice time together before retirement. 4. Money can get tight as we work towards the best roster possible. How does your player help make sure we have the funds for such an effort? Are you asking if my player is willing to sacrifice a paycheck? Sadly he's not, unless absolutely nessessary. He operates a Non-Profit outside of hockey and the money from the paychecks fund that. 5. Surprise! How season 100, instead of a regular season we're doing a 100-player battle royale! 100 nets, 100 players, 1 puck. Who do you think gets the victory royale? I think we would have to look seriously at the way players operate. I would love to say it's the most skilled player, but they would have tons of defenders targeting them specifically. It would ultimately end up being some random player, newer to the VHL who hasn't yet made a name for himself. So I'm gonna say Mattew Highmore. 6. It was Star Wars day yesterday, and Cinco de Mayo today. Do you do anything for either of those days, and if so, what? OCO sat down and enjoyed himself an all day star wars marathon, excluding the sequels, they are not allowed to be considered cannon.
