Big Mac 310
1. Defensemen - Condor Adrienne (PHI) - Something that you’ll see is that Philadelphia dominates this list, and that’s not bias. Adrienne is the obvious number 1 pick in my eyes so he deserves this selection. If Adrienne wasn’t born Lance Flowers would be the obvious 1 pick and the pick for defensemen. Now let’s start talking about the player himself. Adrienne is a well-rounded defensemen and I think that’s easy for most people to see. While he hasn’t had the best defensive season he’s definitely been a leader on the offense. He is 8th in defensemen's points and 3rd(t) in Philadelphia's point leaders tied with Sigard Gunnar and below only Alex Pearson who is leading the VHLM in points and he is 27th in hits in the VHLM, and that is the top of the Reapers stat sheet just to let you know. He leads the S68 class and the VHLM as a whole in TPE (tied with Berocka Sundqvist for leading the VHLM in TPE). He is one of the best players on paper and in my opinion even though he is my teamate is the best defensemen in the league. 2. Center - Thorny Underyew (OTT) - This might be another trend I’m not always choosing the person with the most TPE, but instead I choose the better earner. After anaylysing I realized Thorny usually caps out which will be Frans Eller's downfall. He doesn’t choose to cap out, but with Thorny you might see this guy even surprising the VHL like how my man @Tate did and get picked higher than expected. Thorny hasn’t been an amazing player by VHLM standards but he’s a top Center in the league nonetheless looking at offensive stats. He is tied in 20th place in goals, 4th in goals for centers/centres, 4th in points for centers, and 10th in minutes played for a center. While he didn’t have the best start he looks like he can be a valuable powerplay goal scorer (3 ppg) and he might help Ottawa get a good playoff run. 3. Left Wing - Sigard Gunnar (PHI) - This may seem biased considering it’s my player and Teemu Lehtinen Jr. has more TPE but Gunnar is the better earner. I’m not going to dive too deep so I don’t seem more biased. While I may be behind by 5 TPE eventually Gunnar will have more TPE considering he caps out. Gunnar is a complimentary scorer and him and Adrienne have been a phenomenal dual threat totaling in 42 points together. He’s been a game winning goal scorer for Philadelphia proving he has that beautiful clutch factor a VHL team can use in need. He is 6th in LW points, 6th in goals for a LW, 8th in league goals, 10th in LW +/-, and 3rd in shooting % for a LW with at least 10 goals. He’s one of the least talked about players in the S68 and if he was more mainstream I think many people would agree on this decision. 4. Right Wing - Case Martell (PHI) - Another Philadelphia player. Case Martell may just be one of the biggest falls in the draft. Last years fall was Kevin Low who was supposed to be a top 5 pick but fell below the 2nd round and Martell might do just that. While I heavily doubt he would even fall to the 2nd round it looks like he’s holding on to a 1st round pick by a finger. While Shaka is a sim league legend it is unknown where he is going in this draft. Now let’s look at the stats. He hasn’t been a great player and he is hanging on for the top ten spot with only 8 points definitely not a 1st round player when you look at those stats. While I don’t doubt Martell heavily enough it seems he could end up falling to the 3rd round looking at how productive the draft is. He has nothing that stands out when you look at is besides his +18 +/-, which leads RWs. That +/- shows heavy promise and hopefully Martell turns this season around in a good way. 5. Goalie - Fang Flashback (PHI) - Let me explain this because I know I’ll get called bias. This is the only position that I’m judging based off of stats. I think Fang will have better simulation stats then the other goalies in this class. From what I believe before he had 100 TPE he already had 2 shutouts. While Fang is a penalty threat in practice, he is also one of the nicest players you can meet when you’re on his good side. He leads all goalies ranging from S66, S67, and S68 in wins. The only player is a slow developer from S65. He has only lost one game. While he somehow only has a .888 save %/ .89 save% he manages to have an astounding 1.99 GAA which is 2nd in the league. Some how that .888% is 4th in the league. He is also tied for 3rd in shutouts. The kid already has an assist which is a great sign. Summary: This isn’t the youngest draft class with two of these players already in their 20s. Yet it has the potential reaching to the stars. I don’t think everyone here will all be 1st rounders especially Flashback due to two facts 1. He’s a goalie 2. He’s already a projected 2nd round pick. This draft class is playing during the high earning era which means there potential is definitely larger than most especially since some of these players are capping out doing there best finding ways to earn Points for their players to develop. Now to end on a low note (that’s a first) if you saw anything that seemed off let me know. If I was being biased or unfair also let me know. Also be on the lookout for my top ten draft picks for the upcoming draft most likely coming in 3 weeks. Enjoy the rest of your day, Goodbye. In Thorny's defense, he's playing on the second line with players who haven't capped out yet. When you compare this to a lot of other players in the position. He's doing fantastic for what he's had to go through and put under. He 100% should be on this list! @jack jack 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/66473-the-top-draft-prospects-in-s68-at-each-position/#findComment-648676 Share on other sites
