1. Out of these defunct VHLM teams, which organization lasted beyond S20? (Credit and 1 uncapped TPE to @KaleebtheMighty) So many teams went through the VHLM back in the day, with relocations, expansions, contractions and ultimately a permanent move to all North America. Gothenburg, later Oslo, now Minnesota, Toledo, later Bern, now Las Vegas, and Buffalo, now Saskatoon, did not make it to S20 and the great de-affiliation of the VHL and VHLM. Kolari, which started off as Jonkoping, then became the Panthers, then briefly the Wolves and then moved to Turku and got contracted, was around at the 20-season anniversary but probably regrets it now. Best source for this information is probably this handy thread: https://vhlforum.com/topic/97303-franchise-history-visualiser-vhl-vhlm/ 2. Calgary got their 69th franchise win in which season? Calgary famously went 69-3 in the inaugural VHL season, a record which remains untouched in the VHL and VHLM. It does therefore mean they got their 69th win in S1 although they didn't get their first cup - they lost more games in the finals to Vasteras than they did all season. Week 4 results are coming imminently. In the meantime... https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf5-4FWyWioIgaaIbYJxCn2VLAzFxtaH-8QphaqrWSBQmUVrg/viewform?usp=sf_link Each correct answer is worth 1 capped TPE at the end of the week. Don't reveal the answer in public, but if you're not sure, ask around, here, or in the special trivia Discord channel.

I'll accept this result.

All good things must come to an end. After a whirlwind four seasons with the Seattle Bears, goaltender Rara Rasputin came out of a discussion with GM Blake Campbell with the following statement: “The GM offered me a one-season extension and the promise of a competitive roster and let me be clear that I fully trust that he would deliver on that promise. Seattle when I joined and Seattle now is unrecognisable, but we have always been competitive, we've won the cup, we've made the finals, and I'm excited to see what we do again this postseason. But let's call this the last hurrah for this particular period in Bears history. “I have looked at the goalie positions around the league and have decided now is the time to test free agency. It looks like a lot of options are available and I am open to anything and everything. We have had a great run in Seattle and I have experienced individual success with back-to-back 40-win seasons and a Kanou Trophy. I'd like to challenge myself outside of Seattle or at least explore what's out there – maybe I'll come back, but I want to know what else is on offer first.” And with that, it appears Rara Rasputin will be on the market this coming off-season. First, however, another exciting couple weeks of playoffs await.

bold of you to assume I read past the OP

But Rara Rasputin would win every season

Fuck me it's Brannan. Jericho Kozmalov was your last player yeah? Or did you try again at some point in the following 12 years lmao? Welcome back anyway!

Right so just so I'm clear: Lahtinen - @Red Bernard - @Ledge and Dairy Downey - not sure who took this, if they still want it? @Zetterberg @Ricer13 @rory you've asked before so happy for 1 of you to claim and then there will be more coming this off-season with S79 induction.

1. Which of these Davos players was not a recipient of the first four Brett Slobodzian Trophies (MVP as voted by the players) ever awarded? (Credit and 1 uncapped TPE to @animal74) Davos used to win a ton of trophies, team and individual, but despite being a Hall of Famer, goalies were just not respected enough in the olden days so Benoit Devereux did not get the Slobo in those first 4 seasons. Full list of Slobo winners here: https://vhlportal.com/hof/awards/history/6 2. Who was the first player to win 2 consecutive Matt Bentz Trophies? (Credit and 1 uncapped TPE to @UnkemptCL4PTP) This questions had to be reworded slightly because Jakub Vilhjalmsson was not the first player to win the Bentz Trophy twice (although he is since it was renamed the Bentz). Samuel Grabovski (S13, S19) and Evgeni Galchenyuk (S23, S29) did it first but at different ends of their careers - Vilhjalmsson did it back to back in S59 and S60. Good for him. Out of the single-time winners, there's actually a good amount of future VHL stars: https://vhlportal.com/hof/awards/history/31

So there have been some developments since we last spoke... After the GM announcement, we sent the GMs the logos that have been made for the VHLE to finalise those for each respective team. With some this was a straightforward process as the GMs selected pre-existing or slightly updated logos from the original VHL teams. Unfortunately, two VHLE franchises, the Berlin Steel and Paris Revolution, were brand new and not reusing past logos. Although Kaleeb made two fine logos for those, as we dug into the detail during the process, it came to our attention that there were some lookalike logos already existing in the internet. After a thorough review of Kaleeb's process, we have concluded there was no foul play intended, however in the interest of protecting the VHL from any copyright issues, we have decided to scale back the new teams in the VHLE. So Berlin and Paris are no more. Instead, they are being replaced by two other concepts that got significant support - the Rome Gladiators and Istanbul Red Wolves. Both of those are based on old VHLM logos (Minot and Moscow respectively) so after speaking with the affected GMs we decided this was the most effective resolution. I am pleased to lay out the final logos below and take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the logo creation process, from the OGs to Z and Kaleeb, and to @Enorama for creating his classic banners to go along with them. But just before revealing the logos, a further announcement. Now with GMs and logos in place, we can announce that the inaugural, S80 VHLE draft will be a snake draft (i.e. 6th overall then goes again and picks 7th while 1st overall pick 12th, and everything in between). How will we decide the order of the 1st round though? A tournament! Everyone eligible to play in the VHLE right now, being in that sweet spot of 201-400 TPA, will be randomly allocated to one of the 6 VHLE teams, and it will be up to the 6 GMs to guide their teams to 1st place in a mini tournament. The prize for winning? The right to choose which draft position they want, from 1st to 6th. 2nd place gets 2nd choice and so on and so forth. We will announce rosters for the tournament at a later date - although in the meantime, get ready to get hype if you are on the eligible list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17CQa1SHTvLCvo65-yBhctaL_d8lyYgc3Bcpy3qhbHx4/edit?usp=sharing But for now, here are some exceptionally good looking logos! Vasteras Iron Eagles @rjfryman Cologne Express @Advantage Istanbul Red Wolves @KaleebtheMighty Stockholm Vikings @thadthrasher Rome Gladiators @InstantRockstar Bratislava Watchmen @FrostBeard

1. Which of these goalies has not been crowned playoff MVP in the last 10 seasons? (Credit and 1 uncapped TPE to @Red) All goalies to pick from have won the Kanou fairly recently, 4 times in Funk's case, but Pepper's win came in S66 - now over 10 seasons ago. It looks like it will remain Helsinki's most recent cup win for a few seasons, meaning their streak of winning a cup every decade comes to an end. Full list of Kanou winners: https://vhlportal.com/hof/awards/history/7 2. Who is the all-time leading scorer for the Philadelphia Reapers? (Credit and 1 uncapped TPE to @ryan lol - whoever that is) Philadelphia has been a fairly successful VHLM franchise since inception but that generally is reflected in players quickly moving into the VHL. Instead, Bud Knight stuck around for 6 seasons from S67 to S72, meaning his total of 564 points will be hard to beat (the next highest for the Reapers has 290). Ironically, Knight missed out on both the S66 and S75 Founder's Cup won by Philly making his existence even more futile. Info comes from the Reapers stats page: https://vhlportal.com/teams/16
