A bit more VHLE housekeeping below. @Brewins15 and the VHLE commish team have spoken and decided that the Rush will be landing on their feet in beautiful Geneva, Switzerland - the 3rd franchise in VHL/VHLM/VHLE history in Switzerland after Davos and the former location of the Las Vegas Aces, Bern. Also, with the VHLE now having 8 teams, we have decided to split the league into 2 conferences, although we will keep a 4-team playoff format, meaning half the league makes the playoffs. This may be subject to change after S81 as we will consider expanding playoffs or introducing crossover as needed. For now, however, simply the top 2 teams in each conference will go to the playoffs. Hi again, the announcements just keep on coming. First of all, congratulations to @rjfryman and the Vasteras Iron Eagles for winning the... *drumroll* Renaissance Cup In the spirit of resurrecting old European franchises and of course the European cultural phenomenon of the circa 15th-16th centuries, we have decided to name the VHLE championship after the Renaissance. Just like in S1, Vasteras pulled off a mini-upset to win the inaugural championship - it remains to be seen if they will now go winless for 25 seasons and whether a move to Madrid will take place. As for the other awards which we will be handing out later this off-season, we have decided not to give these any names. Either they will be based on the best VHLE players of the first few seasons or something else will be decided, but for now we are kicking this down the road. So for S80, the MVP will be awarded the Most Valuable Player trophy, etc. Finally, you may have seen the Cologne Express GM opening recently. After receiving a number of strong applications we have decided to give this historic franchise to.... @BarzalGoat - congratulations!

Greetings VHL/E/M/ians. We have some exciting changes to announce just before off-season as we look to rebalance the leagues a bit after the first VHLE season. With the VHLM TPE cap having dropped to 200, we have found that 12 teams is probably too many for the VHLM. At the same time, our S80 experience and current projections suggest that 6 teams is too few for the VHLE. So, the easiest solution is a very European style promotion! From S81, the Minnesota Storm and Yukon Rush will be moving from the VHLM to the VHLE. With that bombshell out of the way, a bit of housekeeping is in order. Seasoned veterans will remember the Minnesota Storm were known as the Oslo Storm for much of their existence, including as recently as S64 when they were the last European VHLM franchise. So, with their move to the VHLE the Storm are also going back home to Oslo. @Laine, Minnesota's GM and one of the many fine applicants for the inaugural VHLE GM positions, will also be making the move to Oslo. As for the Rush, the name lends itself to the Alps and the slightly underrated hockey nations of Austria and Switzerland. Geneva Rush? Vienna Rush? The final name will be announced shortly once confirmed between the VHLE Commissioners and the GM - @Brewins15, who has expressed interest in moving across the VHLE from Halifax. From a VHLM perspective, this means a job opening in Halifax. The VHLM Commissioners will also separately announce the plan on how to treat the remaining Yukon and Minnesota players in the VHLM. In the VHLE, Oslo and Geneva/Vienna will receive the 3rd and 4th pick in every round of the draft, as well as an additional 9th and 10th pick in every round of the draft - thereby getting additional players and avoiding an expansion draft.

That I'd still be here 12 years later.
