Joke's on you, I read all of the things! I like to consider us partners in crime when we're raiding the Aussie houses so no need to worry there. I'm so pleased to hear you have had a nice time in the VHL with us weirdos. It really is a different world in our little Discord and I'm happy you've decided to stick around through thick and thin. Us healthcare people need to help one another out, and sometimes the best way to do that is just be present.

1. Playoff bound! How excited are you, for what is for most players on the team's first playoff experience? Pretty excited! But I think we have to get over the shininess of it and make sure we're focusing on what's important: getting those Ws in the playoffs! 2. How important is/was the bye when/if we get/got it? Most playoff series are a coin flip, so it'll always be helpful. But I think we can make it deep regardless! 3. Are you happy with the team's performance this year? To an extent. There's always room to improve, so I don't think we can get complacent quite yet - but I think we've performed above average. 4. Are you happy with your individual performance this year? Ultimately, not really. I think I could have contributed a lot more in wins and converted some losses into wins, so there is still plenty of work to do. 5. What are you gonna do to pump up the locker room for playoff games? Baked goods!! I'm bringing some kanelsnegle, butter cookies, and drømmekage for us to eat during film review sessions. 6. If there's one thing you would change about the discord locker room, what would it be? Mandatory Muff himself saying "Muff loves you"! No more of this robot nonsense, it creeps me out.

1. With 13 games left to play, we are in a playoff position by 6 points. Who do you think is the player that will step up and help us clinch that playoff spot? It's Lamb + Mitchell and I would expect it to continue to be that way. 2. Who do you think has played the most impressively on the team recently? I think Latrell Mitchell had a pretty nice last couple of games! 3. Now that the season is almost done, how would you rate your performance this year? Probably 4/10. I haven't been nearly as productive as I would like, and I think I have a lot more to contribute. Hopefully that comes in the playoffs. 4. Who do you think ends up missing the playoffs from the EU? Davos - they're the meme dream team and it's almost fitting that they might miss the playoffs. They also haven't looked sharp recently, but that may be because of their schedule moreso than anything to do with the team. 5. If you could play any other position, which position would you play and why? Quarterback in the American Football! It seems like a nice position to play, with many rules protecting you and a penchant for getting the puckball in the right place at the right time. It appeals to me. 6. Doing anything special for the holidays? Sadly I am separated from my family in Denmark for COVID times, so I will spend it all with Venus instead!!

Trade #1 – Monday, 2:23 PM ET receives: C Lewis Dawson (S70, 735 TPE) S76 MAL 1st receives: C Arthur Dayne (S72, 517 TPE) The first of these trades is by far the more impactful of the two – involving the exchange of a first-round selection and over 1,200 TPE in players. Perhaps more relevantly, it involves two teams that are tightly involved in the playoff race – Calgary a clear favorite to win it all with about a half-dozen point lead in the standings with as many games to go, and a similarly-aged Malmo Nighthawks team that is looking for a top two seed over Warsaw in the European Conference. But what’s trickiest in this trade is the inclusion of that highly valued pick; after all, even if Malmo finish extremely well in the playoffs, they would still likely have had a selection that would net them a player that’s currently at 160-170 TPE deep into the first round. Were this a swap for the players straight-up, one could argue that the youth received by the Nighthawks may outweigh the couple hundred TPE received by Calgary – especially since Dawson will be into his second instance of regression this offseason. Dayne, on the other hand, has a full season after this one left before losing some of his TPA. But with Calgary setting their eyes on a fairly comfortable lead in points heading into the playoffs, the acquisition of Dawson makes far more sense for their roster. On the other hand, it’s a bit more difficult to justify Malmo losing a potentially important future pick – especially provided the loss of TPE probably helps their now-gone draft stock. Hopefully Malmo has a very strong personal connection or some other interest in acquiring Dayne – otherwise, it feels like this transaction easily favors Calgary, who should roll into the playoffs with plenty of steam. Trade #2 – Monday, 2:56 PM ET receives: S76 LDN 3rd receives: D Eoin Byrne (S74, 280 TPE) S76 MAL 3rd S77 CGY 4th Admittedly I don’t have much to say about this trade. It’s a cap dump for Calgary, and maybe New York squeezes a nice late round pick out of the late third next season or the late fourth the following season. It’s a nicety for the Wranglers, who are able to offload the salary of a player who hasn’t updated since they received their VHLM Graduation Bonus a season ago while also potentially acquiring the best pick of the three exchanged in this trade. Again, there aren’t a large number of assets traded away in this transaction, so the overall impact on the league is somewhat small. Trade #3 – Sunday, 9:09 PM receives: C Dakota Lamb (S73, 670 TPE) receives: LW Groovy Dood (S73, 675 TPE) Okay, so this trade didn’t actually happen – it was an elaborate troll by the one and only bigAL. But it speaks volumes in terms of how quiet the trade deadline ended up being – aside from the exchange of Dayne and Dawson with the first-round selection, there weren’t any notable trades within a week of the deadline. And really, were there any inclination to trade either of these players it’d be a bit of a dead heat, as the two are within a handful of TPE of one another; Groovy is a bit more balanced in terms of passing and scoring and has slightly better skating and puck handling; on the other hand, Lamb is the better high-end scorer (narrowly) and defender of the two and has the faceoff skill to be a centerman on a regular basis. What happened to deadline blockbusters? With more teams, you’d hope there would be more sparks flying – but it seems as though everyone is content to keep active players essentially where they are.

1. Why does the team not perform as well in front of bot goalie as we do in front of Krishna? The bot goalie doesn't coordinate the defense as well as Krishna! It's almost like he's programmed to be okay at his job but not much else... 2. Over half way through the season in a tight conference, how do you like our chances for playoffs? STHS is a cruel mistress. I won't jinx us by giving any sort of odd prophetic advice or prognostication. 3. If we can get there, do you think we have a serious shot at a run? As said above. No jinxing! That would be walking us into a trap. 4. What improvements do you see that need to be made to continue our success? Same thing we've been doing all season. I think that's evident from how much improvement we've made in the last couple of seasons. 5. Are there any video games out there that you can’t stop playing currently? I wish I had Cyberpunk, as I hear many of my friends are playing it now. But I am stuck on Pathfinder: Kingmaker - it's a very interesting game! 6. How many hours of sleep do you need minimum to function normally? For a single day? Zero, if I have a bit of coffee! Over a long period of time, four is probably my minimum.
