After a season in which the Wolves won the Continental Cup there was a few big moves that happened. One of the leading scorers in Beau Louth retired. Then the Wolves traded Shawn Glade back to Davos before also losing Ismond Kingfisher to F.A. It was a offseason which saw the Wolves lose an important player at each position. Look for Shawnomir Jagr to break out and help offset the loss of Louth. Look for Gritty to also take a bigger role. Newly drafted Jeff Downey will be joining the team, look for him to step right in and contribute but expect bigger things from Jagger Philliefan as well. Look for Greg Eagles to step into the starters role and be more consistent than Kingfisher as well, he bided his time on the bench as the backup but now is his time to shine. The new look lineup should look like this: Julius Freeman (747) - Rauno Palo (893) - Shawnomir Jagr (600) Gritty (597) - MGS (505) - Hans Gruber (501) Ben Hafkey (346) Jagger Philliefan (665) - Denver Wolfe (625) Konstantin Mulligan (505) - Codrick Past (476) Jeff Downey (320) Greg Eagles (462) Pekka Pouta (387)

GM: Jason Glasser (576/346/188/42/734) Former GM(s): Jardy Bunclewirth (504/172/307/25/369) Record (after S20): 1,080 GP | 518 W | 495 L | 67 OTL | 1,103 P | 3,282 GF | 3,655 GA Playoff Record (after S20): 81 GP | 42 W | 28 L | 11 OTL | 2-1 vs TOR, 1-1 SEA, 1-1 vs HEL, 1-0 vs QUE, 1-0 vs DAV, 1-3 vs NYA Season 34 VHL Entry Draft No Picks Season 34 Regular Season - 72 GP | 51 W | 17 L | 4 OTL | 106 P | 249 GF | 163 GA The Wranglers endured some more changed but there were two huge ones that we should talk about. First was former Franchise leader in points, Alexander Chershenko coming back home after he played his first 5 seasons for the franchise. He had a dominating 5 season stretch for the Wranglers. The next was Clark Marcellin moving from Center to Defense as the team had only 1 defender on the roster if Marcellin didn't make the move. The moves looked to work out pretty well since the Wranglers went 51-17-4 despite the lack of depth on the back end. Chershenko and Rybak had their renewed chemistry as both scored 50 goals and had more than 121 points (125 for Chershenko and 121 for Rybak). Clark Marcellin broke 100 points from the back end as the lone defenseman basically. Felix Zamora broke out with 96 points on the potent top line. GIYGAS and Chico Salmon had success as secondary scorers with 78 and 64 points. Rookie Henrik Larsson had 46 points while Dringus chipped in with 15 points. Season 34 Playoffs - 21 GP | 11 W | 7 L | 3 OTL | Win vs New York Americans, Win vs Quebec City Meute, Loss vs Helsinki Titans Despite the amazing regular season, the Wranglers still finished in 2nd place which meant they would have to play in the quarterfinals. It was something the Wranglers were probably dreading because the New York Americans were waiting. The Americans have previously beat the Wranglers in whatever round they played in. The Americans were 3-0 vs the Wranglers in the playoffs. The Wranglers jumped out to a 2-0 series lead thanks to a Cherchenko goal 1:50 into OT in game 1 plus a hattrick and 1 assist from Chershenko in game 2. The Americans outscored the Wranglers 7-3 in the two games in New York making it a 2-2 series. Satan shut out the Americans in Game 5. The Americans doubled up the Wranglers in Game 6 4-2. A unlikely Game 7 hero in rookie Henrik Larsson sent the Wranglers to the next round with a GWG 2:40 into OT thanks to a penalty taken by former Wrangler Ryan Sullivan. In the semi finals, the Wranglers played the expansion Quebec City Meute who have built up their team fast. The Wranglers started out much like the last series taking Game 1 and 2 by a combined scored of 8-5. Game 3 went in favor of the Meute who scored 41 seconds into OT thanks to a penalty by Clark Marcellin. The Wranglers were able to win Game 4 5-3 after they scored 4 goals in the 3rd period to spark a huge comeback in that game.Game 5 saw the Meute take it 3-1. Game 6 went into OT once more before the Meute scored 5 minutes in to send this series to Game 7. Satan was able to shut the door making 36 saves and goals from Rybak and GIYGAS were enough to send them through to the finals. Unlike the last two series, it was the Wranglers who fell behind 2-0 after losing the first two games 2-0. However, back in Calgary, the Wranglers tied it up after game 3 and 4 finished by a combined score of 7-3. Game 5 was a tight loss 3-2. Game 6 saw Satan shut out the Titans making 27 saves while Chico Salmon scored the GWG. Game 7 in Helsinki was another tight game. Helsinki's Odin Tordahl opened up the scoring just 2 minutes in. Alexander Chershenko scored 8 minutes into the 3rd to tie it up. However, just as the OT period was ending, Anatoli Zhumbayev scored the Cup winning goal. It was a hard playoff showing for the Wranglers who battled the whole way, each series went to 7 before taking Game 7 to OT. The Wranglers should be proud of this playoff run as it is one of the best in VHL history imo. Trades: Not available until Season 35 Awards: Scotty Campbell (MVP) - Alexander Chershenko Brett Slobodzian (Players MVP) - Alexander Chershenko Daisuke Kanou (Playoff MVP) - Alexander Chershenko Mike Szatkowski (Most Points) - Alexander Chershenko Kevin Brooks (Most Goals) - Alexander Chershenko David Knight (Top GM) - Alexander Chershenko (JK) Jason Glasser Overall: The Wranglers had a very fine season. Rybak firmly established himself at the top of every leader board. He is the leader in Games (504), Goals (334), Assists (413), Points (747), +/- (+307), and Shots (3,312). Chershenko came back after a few seasons away to mark his place at 2nd in Wranglers history (S20 to this point in time). He most likely would be in first had he not been traded away. Chershenko is close to 300 goals, he has 352 assists plus 646 points all of which are 2nd all time. He is the leader in GWG with an amazing 60 game winning goals. Clark Marcellin is an underrated member of the Wranglers organization. He sits 3rd all time now with 186 goals and 347 assists for 533 points. Marcellin leads the Wranglers in hits as well with 1,465 hits. Chico Salmon and GIYGAS climb to tied for 21st in Wranglers history with 140 points each. Felix Zamora also breaks into the top 27 all time with his own 133 points. Satan ties Skylar Rift with 41 wins which is 3rd in Wranglers history. In the playoffs, Rybak leads the way again with 83 points in 62 games. Chershenko isn't too far behind him with 70 points in 44 games while Clark Marcellin rounds out the top 3 with 48 points. GIYGAS, Felix Zamora and Chico Salmon break into the top 10 with 27, 25 and 21 points respectively. Satan ties the franchise playoff wins with 11 but his 0.915 save percentage is 4th among the goalies. His shutouts are tied for 2nd though. Calgary Player Stats

Vancouver Wolves Press Conference
TheLastOlympian07 replied to Beaviss's topic in Team Press Conferences
1. I felt like I was on top of the world. The Legion were the top dogs all season so to beat them was amazing. 2. At the time I felt we needed to exact revenge for getting swept. 6. My 1 day, I took it back to Czech Republic. Paraded it around my hometown, Gave the new Prague team something to stare at 7. 2 seasons in Van, 2 finals, 1 win, the fans have been great. 8. beau no doubt 28 pointss 10. Ismond got his redemption this playoffs after being ridiculed all year. -
With Shawn Glade moving on and Beau Louth retiring, the question moving forward is who is going to score for the Vancouver Wolves? Well one player who comes to mind for me is Shawnomir Jagr. His regular season stats don't stand out with 21 goals and 26 assists for 47 points in 144 games. However, in the 2nd half of the season, Jagr caught fire with 22 points in the final 36 games and it carried over into the playoffs with 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points in 18 games. I expect with a bigger role this season due to players leaving the Wolves via trade, retirement and expansion draft, Jagr will be in line for a big season as he enters his 3rd season. Jagr has been playing small roles on the Wolves for his 1st season and 1/2 of the 2nd season. Since being given more responsibility the Wolves have been rewarded as well as Jagr being rewarded with a new 3 year contract. The 1st of which includes a NTC. It has been an interesting ride for Jagr who won a Founders Cup, missed the playoffs in his final VHLM season despite a 100 point season, made it to the finals and won the Continental Cup. 3 of 4 years Jagr has made it to a final. Will the streak continue this season?

GM: Jason Glasser (504/295/171/38/628) Former GM(s): Jardy Bunclewirth (504/172/307/25/369) Record (after S20): 1,008 GP | 467 W | 478 L | 63 OTL | 997 P | 3,033 GF | 3,492 GA Playoff Record (after S20): 60 GP | 31 W | 21 L | 8 OTL | 2-1 vs TOR, 1-1 SEA, 1-0 vs HEL, 1-0 vs DAV, 0-3 vs NYA Season 33 VHL Entry Draft Round 1, Pick 4: Tomas Valiq Round 1, Pick 7: GIYGAS Round 2, Pick 20: Edward Eldred Round 3, Pick 27: Razzle Dazzle Round 4, Pick 37: Giacomo Sgroi Season 33 Regular Season - 72 GP | 48 W | 17 L | 7 OTL | 103 P | 262 GF | 181 GA More changes were made in Calgary as Ryan Sullivan, Yuri Grigorenko, Shane Lynch and Marius Henchosz were all gone but Jarvis Baldwin, Radislav Mjers, GIYGAS, Felix Zamora and Patrik Johansen were all brought in to offset the losses. Baldwin had the biggest impact since he led the team in scoring with a huge 138 point outburst. Rybak and Marcellin also had huge years with 128 and 126 points a piece. However, this team didn't seem to much depth outside this top line since the next highest scorer had 70 points. Rift had a strong season with 41 wins and a 0.917 save percentage. The Wranglers basically had the same season as last in the regular season. Season 33 Playoffs - 13 GP | 7 W | 4 L | 2 OTL | Win vs Toronto Legion, Loss vs New York Americans In the first round, the Wranglers had to play the Toronto Legion in the quarter finals. The Legion finished 32 points behind the Wranglers but they sure gave them a tiny scare by forcing this series to 6 games. The Legion were 2-1 up in the series and brought the Wranglers to O.T in Game 4 but Clark Marcellin evened up the series at 3:42 into O.T. The Wranglers ended up winning the final 2 games by outscoring Toronto 8-2. In the next series, the Wranglers would face the New York Americans who have twice before beaten the Wranglers in the playoffs. Calgary lost the first game 2-1 before winning 3 straight including Game 4 in O.T. However, the dreaded 3-1 curse was indeed a real thing. Calgary lost Game 5 in O.T. Lost Game 6 in Calgary 4-1 before going to O.T in Game 7 before old Wrangler Nikolai Chershenko ended the series with his OT winner halfway through the frame. Baldwin continued his scoring pace from the regular season by putting up 20 points in 13 games. Damon Wolfe had himself a good post season with 18 points as well. GIYGAS scored 5 goals in the playoffs but 60% of them were GWG. It was a nice run which almost resulted in the Finals but instead, the Americans proved to just have the Wranglers number. Trades: Not available until Season 35 Awards: Scotty Campbell (MVP): Jarvis Baldwin Brett Slobodzian (Most Outstanding): Jarvis Baldwin Mike Szatkowski (Most Points): Jarvis Baldwin Kevin Brooks (Most Goals): Jarvis Baldwin Alexander Beketov (Most Assists): Clark Marcellin Overall: The biggest thing that happened player wise was Volodmryr Rybak moving into the top spot in goals with 282, assists with 344, points with 626 (only player with more than 600 points), +/- with +239 and shots with 2,828. Clark Marcellin moves into 4th while being just 4 points behind Jardy Bunclewirth for 3rd. Marcellin also moves into 2nd in hits with 1,219. Damon Wolfe breaks 100 points with 161 moves into 17th all time in scoring. Baldwin breaks 100 points and moves into 19th with his 1 amazing season of 138 points. Rift moves into 3rd in wins with his 41 but has a ways to catch Henchosz and his 208 wins. Rybak solidifies his top spot in playoff scoring with 52 points. He also leads a few more offensive categories. Wolfe and Marcellin have shots to move up to 2nd place as they have 26 and 25 points while Baldwin moves to 7th with his 20 points. Rift is 3rd in playoff wins with 7 while having the 2nd best save percentage and G.A.A. Calgary Wranglers Stats
