  1. True, true. Even if he can't change the name, just changing the attributes and using that player as if it was the right one would at least get us through this and let the series move forward.
  2. Can't players not be added to teams during playoffs? Pretty sure that was an issue on the SHL.
  3. Wait jk I already claimed my article this week need to use it next week
  4. So doubles week gives you 12 from a normal PT?
  5. So how do we claim the free donation reward when we want to use it?
  6. Saskatoon's Top Players in Top Form The Wild celebrate their game one victory over the Lynx. Saskatoon looks to close out the series tonight at home. When your top players are playing like your top players, you're going to see some pretty big successes on the ice - and that's been the story so far through four games for the Saskatoon Wild. The top line of Gabriel McAllister, Jake Scheel, and Daring Do have combined for a total of 14 goals and 29 points, with defenseman Ay Ay Ron adding a goal of his own and 10 points. This is exactly what the team wanted to see heading into the first round of the playoffs, and the fans are certainly excited to see that their success on the ice has led to success in the series, with the Wild sitting on a 3-1 series lead as they head back home to play in front of their own fans. This high scoring play thus far has been backed up by the skilled goaltending of Brienne O'Tarth, who currently sits comfortably with a .866 save percentage and a 3.26 goals against average, giving the Saskatoon Wild the lowest goals against in the league to go along with their playoff-high goals for. Of course these numbers have been helped by the fact that the Wild are second in the league in shots for (32.50) and are far and away the league leaders in shots against with 24.25 - well below the Las Vegas Aces who sit in second with 29.71 shots per game. Unfortunately if there's one area in which the Saskatoon Wild have struggled, it's their penalty kill. While Daring Do has been one of the team's leaders on the ice this postseason, she's also been a leader when it comes to cutting runs to the penalty box with 10 penalty minutes this postseason - tied with Boner for the team lead. Unfortunately, not only has this left the team down a player and down one of their penalty killers, it's also meant a goal against more often than they'd like to see as they are a league-worst 68.75% on the penalty kill this postseason. Luckily the special teams hasn't been all bad for Saskatoon this season - their powerplay is the second best in the league at 26.32%, led by Daring Do's two powerplay goals and Emil Martinov's three powerplay assists. So while the team definitely needs to work more on their penalty killing performance, their powerplay at least helps to make up for some of the goals they're giving up throughout the series. All in all, Saskatoon is peaking at the right team, and the players and fans are hopeful that this can lead to a long postseason and their names engraved on the cup.
  7. One more, just like that. Then another 4.
  8. My favourite memory is still the one from day 2, where gorlab took one look at me in chat and said "oh fuck no, not you." But even so, for my 7th and final memory I'm going to have to go with being drafted by Toronto. It's been pretty exciting to actually stick with a player in the VHL long enough that I get to see my career play out, and I'm hoping it ends up being a good, long-term career.
  9. I may know nothing about VHL history, but that's not going to keep me away from the bonus TPE. So today we're looking back on the S45 VHL Cup Finals, which featured the Wranglers and Titans. As game one started out, the teams looked to be headed for an intense battle. Shots were close at 29-26 in favour of the Wranglers, and goals were just as even at 4-3 going the same way. Interestingly, despite the close score, the game did not start out that way - the Wranglers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first, while the Titans only picked up their three in the 3rd period. The second game went similarly as far goals go, with the Wranglers pulling ahead in the series with a 4-2 victory, but shots suddenly went the other way with the Titans dominating the pace of play, 36-22. The story here was the Wranglers Penalty Kill, only allowing one goal on seven attempts, while the Titans only had to kill off three penalties of their own - succeeding on two of those occasions. As the teams moved into game three, it looked like things were starting to shift. This time it was the Titans who took the victory by a tally of 2-1 - and picking up their first victory made the series the same. Again it was the Titans who had more shots, 35-23, with their penalty killing going perfect on four attempts while their powerplay picked up one of six - a tally from Marcel Faux. Unfortunately for the Titans, game four did not go quite as well. The shots were close, just as in game one, with a 38-34 tally favouring the Wranglers and a score going 4-1 the same way. With the series at 3-1, the future looked bleak for the Titans. Bismark Koenig was the standout here with his 11 shots leading to two goals and an assist as well as first star honors - truly the difference maker in this game. But the Titans weren't about to go down easy. In game 5 they blew the Wranglers out of the water with 46 shots on net compared to their opponent's 17. While the score was only 2-1, it could have easily been much, much worse - especially if the Titans converted on more than just one of their four powerplay opportunities. In game 6, the Titans pulled the series even for the first time. With shots 31-29, they scored all the goals they'd deserved in game 5 but were somehow unable to put away. Their 5-2 win was lead by Phil Hamilton's 2 goals and an assist, and the Titans fans were starting to wonder if they could actually pull this off. As it turned out, they were. Shots remained even at 22 apiece in the game, but the score was anything but even. With a 4-1 win, the Titans took their first lead of the series, and it was the only one that would matter. After scoring 4 straight goals before the the Wranglers could even pick up their first, it was over. The Titans, after seven hard-fought games, would emerge as the S45 VHL Cup Champions.
  10. Day 6: That time Saskatoon went up 2-0 on the Lynx and my player was actually contributing the way she was supposed to. It's last night. This memory is from last night.
  11. This is the kind of playoffs I wanted to see! Also this is game 2 right? Or did I miss a game?
  12. While the Wild lost their second place position to the Ottawa Lynx as the regular season came to a close, it didn't take long for the Wild to show they didn't need home ice advantage to pick up wins in the playoffs. While shots were close at 30-29 in favour of the home team in Game One, the score went the opposite way with the visiting Wild taking the win 5-3 thanks to Daring Do's 2 goals and 3 points as well as Jake Scheel's 2 assists and 3 points on the outing, as well as goals from Gabriel McAllister and Bradley Marko. The team was helped by strong, disciplined play, leading to them getting 6 powerplay opportunities as opposed to the Lynx's 4 chances, and converting on two of their powerplays while holding the Lynx to only one powerplay goal. Going into game 2, Ottawa will maintain home ice advantage, but the Wild have shown that wont' be enough to stop them from taking home a victory. For the Wild to keep up the pressure in game 2 it'll require similar performances from linemates Do and Scheel, as well as goaltender Brienne O'Tarth whose 27 saves and a .900 save percentage were crucial in the team's game one victory.
