Daring Do Apologizes to Fans, Teammates At the conclusion of her first season in the VHLM, Daring Do held a press conference today to apologize to both her fans and her teammates for what she called a "lack of effort" in her rookie season. "I didn't show up as much as I should have," she told reporters gathered in Saksatoon today. "I did what I could here and there, but I certainly didn't contribute as much as my coaches expected me to coming into the season, and for that I apologize. I'd like to say I gave this season my all, but that wouldn't be even close to accurate. I did just what I needed to in order to get by, and in the end that wasn't enough. Maybe if I'd put a little more effort in throughout the season I could have helped Saskatoon get over Las Vegas in the finals this season, but in the end we came up short. My lack of effort in hitting the gym throughout the season just isn't acceptable. Yeah, I showed up here and there and went for a jog with a few of my teammates whenever I felt like it, but that's not going to cut it if I want to be a professional hockey player. So this is my commitment to the media, to the fans, and to my teammates - that changes now. I'm not going to hold back any longer. From this day forward I'm going to be giving my career 110% as I look to really take things up a notch. I'm not going to be the same Daring Do you've seen ever since I joined the VHLM. No way. I'm ramping up my game, and you're going to be surprised as the new me." Daring Do started her career strong as she really showed she was serious about her commitment to hockey, but her effort fell off as the season went on as she clearly started to just cash it in. While her play on the ice was appropriate for what had been expected of her coming into the season, her effort outside of games was not quite up to snuff. While it remains to be seen whether or not this supposed "new approach" to her career is going to pan out the way she says it is, one thing's for certain - having her come out and speak to the media for the first time in a month could be a sign of good things to come. At any rate, it signals a potential move away from her recent lack of effort and back to the Daring Do of old. And it's certain that any effort on her part would be appreciated - especially as she looks towards being drafted in both the VHLM and the VHL proper.

Any Canadian(Or Buffalo) restaurants one MUST try when visiting?

Yeah food is definitely not the best, but I couldn't think of any places in the city proper that had beef on weck. -

If you're in Buffalo you should try to find Beef on Weck someplace. . .Charlie the Butcher is a classic but it might be a bit out of the way. Anchor Bar I believe has it, Duff's I'm not sure about. (716) is also an option, and could be fun if there's any big sports stuff happening while you're there. -

Saskatoon celebrates their first win of the season against Las Vegas Aces Sitting in second place in the league right now, the Saskatoon Wild are left with many a reason to smile. For Daring Do, that smile is perhaps even bigger as she became one of only three players in the league to be able to say they scored a game winning goal against the Las Vegas Aces this season. And she couldn't be happier. Talking to reporters after the game she was all smiles. "It's been tough this season, playing against Las Vegas. They're a tough team there's no denying that, they've done a great job building the organization. And when it comes to tough arenas to play in, Vegas is definitely #1. I've scored five goals this season, and honestly the boos from this crowd when I buried that goal tonight beat even the cheers from our home crowd. As nice as it is to win for the fans at home, there's something almost more special about beating a team like Vegas in their own building. This felt especially good since we started out a little slow, going down 2-0 and everything, so being able to come back like we did to pull off not only the upset but the comeback is really just such an exciting experience. We really wanted to win this game as you guys could see from our performance on the ice. So much support from our fans back home, and a few fans who made the trip out here - I'm glad we were able to do this for them. I managed to get off 8 shots in that game, so I'm glad I was able to finish one of them - and a powerplay goal at that. Really the best way to make your opponent's pay is when you're able to shut down the home crowd with a win because they took a dumb penalty late in the third. Carlo set me up perfectly on the wing and I was just able to bury it from the right side wall. We've been working hard on that in practice for the last week, so getting it to happen in a game is just an amazing feeling. Hopefully we can keep building on this win and start to push our way from #2 in the league up into that #1 position." Looking forward, Daring Do believes Saskatoon has quite a bit to build off of. "It's not everyday you get the chance to win a game as important as this one, and our spirits couldn't be higher. Beating Vegas was a goal of ours since I signed with the team. We really wanted to be their first loss of the year, but unfortunately the Lynx beat us to that. But taking this win when we did sets us up for a great future. The rest of the VHLM had better watch out, because there's a new sheriff in town - and his name is "Sasksatoon."

With only 4 games played in the VHLM, Daring Do already finds herself with a goal and four assists for five points along with seven hits. While it's a strong showing from the young forward, she's not happy yet. "I didn't come here to be in second place. I came here to win. We came close to handing Vegas their first loss of the season, but we fell just barely short. I'm telling you right now, we'll be able to hand them a loss this season, and when it comes to the playoffs they're going to be the ones praying they can somehow find a way to win. Saskatoon is coming strong this year, I promise you that." When asked what areas of her game she believed needed improvement, Daring Do pointed to her lack of scoring. "As nice as it is that I'm passing pucks and setting up my teammates for important goals, I want to be able to finish them too. This team needs scoring, and they brought me in to help them win games. We're not going to win if we're not scoring, and I plan to bring the finish this team needs to come in first."
