No gifts in New Years but waiting for the stores to die down to use gift cards. 3. Any gifts your player gave to anyone? I have my dad a captains hat because he bought a new boat. 4. Do you believe in Santa? Where else do the presents under the tree come from? 5. In your opinion, how this year went for VHL as a whole? Finally got my first win since 2007 so good. 6. Any wishes for VHL members before we move into 2024? I hope there’s more people to wish a happy new year this time next year

Up until this season, the professional career of Jimi Jax was defined by being on the bad side of an upset. From the single VHLE season with a dominant Oslo, to Ronan Lavelle’s farewell tour in S90 - the American born center fell short of high expectations – but not this year. For the first time in the VHL universe, Jax is a champion along with his good buddy Mac Atlas, who’s been around his hockey family going back to the USNTDP days. Both Jax and Atlas have been part of the Legion core since the beginning of the rebuild a few seasons back – and now they both share the Continental Cup with a few more seasons of VHL eligibility to improve their legacy. Jax doesn’t believe it was anything to do with the way he plays that lead to the Legion’s success. “I think the team just clicked a lot better in the playoffs – Atlas was finishing his chances and Castle was lights out. He really kept us in every single game, even the first two losses against Helsinki. We’ve been one of the best teams in the league after the second half. Just glad we had the bounces go our way too” Jimi will take some time off to enjoy the win before his training starts. The one thing he won’t be doing this offseason – is figuring out how to come back from another disappointment.

1. How happy are you to see Toronto win it all? Very happy Actually nice to get a win after so long. 2. Do you think this upcoming draft is too shallow? Yes it is - one of the most shallow I've seen since my return. 3. Any comments on our recent pick swap with Vancouver? trade here hedge never loses a trade so I think we're in good shape after that one. 4. Are you now more excited about this offseason or an upcoming season? I'm always excited for a draft. Probably more excited to see if Toronto wins again next year. 5. How this year turned out for you in real life? Not too bad - had some great vacations. Work was also fun. Can't really complain at all. 6. Do you prefer snowy New Year or a relatively warm one? (above 0 celsius and stuff) Definitely a snowy. It's always cold for me so at least it should be pretty.

1. That was very disappointing. Do you think there's a particular reason for that? Pretty simple - Simon has something against hedge during the playoffs. 2. With 3 players set to retire following this season, do you think we can repeat this season's success in S92? We had major turnover after last season and were one of the best teams in the league. I'm confident our GM will make another competitive team. 3. How excited are you to welcome our rookies next season? Always nice to bring in new faces that will be with the team a long time. We have a fantastic scouting department. 4. In your opinion, do I need to bring forwards more or defense via trade/FA? I think you should go for BPA in FA and then whatever is needed after you acquire via trade. 5. Out of remaining 4, who wins it all? Toronto Legion they have some great players!! 6. For me, a winter period is the most depressing one. How about you? After Christmas for sure - its super depressing seeing it get dark so early. Plus I hate the cold if I'm not doing fun outdoor things.

This graphic certainly meets the minimum requirements for 6 TPE. You have a nice jersey change, a texture, text and some lighting. I really like the texture from the blue graphic and the shade of blue that you use for the lighting. The placement of the lighting is really well done as it brings out both the text and the mask of the render. The jersey change is done well and I like how you have the logo white to match the theme of the maple leafs jersey/logo. Nice little graphic/ 8/10

This graphic is unique and really creative. Its not your typical wide and short graphic you see in signatures and the layout of the text and background makes it its on thing. The red overlay and filters brings it out and I like the diagonal background of the building. It's giving gameday poster vibes for sure. It would have been nice to see a bit more done with the jersey like adding the team logo and removing the NHL logo from the collar. The text is simple but it works really well with out this graphic is laid out. 8/10

Your style of sigs are one of my favorite - particularly for the grunge + great lighting. The color palette you have here is perfect for Moscow and you seem to always have the best fonts for your graphics. The unique factor of this sig is obviously the double render. I think it would have been better if you made the back/bigger one just his face (or zoomed closer)... It also looked like the head was photoshopped on because it seems very big with respect to the rest of the body. Other than that I really like the sig - great jersey edits too. 8.5/10

I like the 3D effect where you have his head and legs outside the boundaries of the background. The way you have the colors laid out fits very well with the Marlins blue/mustard yellow theme. I'm not sure if its the cut or if you added a stroke, but the white line going around the render kind of takes away from the filter affect you have on it. perhaps a drop shadow here would have worked well. The text layout is a really cool idea and makes this graphic unique - some additional lighting for depth would have worked nice here as well. 7/10

1. How ready are you for the playoffs? Feeling very confident. Lots of good vibes within the locker room that's going to easily translate from this season. 2. Are you happy with your performance in the reg season? As the AGM I'm happy with the team's performance as a whole. Put together by a well respected GM with a major turnover in the offseason. 3. Do you think we're one of the favorites for the cup? Absolutely - we definitely will have it tough with Davos but anything is possible with Simon. 4. Predict the Riga playoffs MVP. Henry Tucker Jr - best goalie in the league. 5. who is your favorite Riga teammate? AK for sure - he does it all. 6. do you already have a New Year resolutions in place? Yes - I have been wanting a tattoo for about 5 years now and I really need to pull the trigger on it. 7. do you have any traveling plans for the next year? Myself and the wife are going to try and do a Switzerland/Italy trip in the later part of the year.

As we head into the final week of the VHL season – the duo Mac Atlas and Jimi Jax can look back and be proud of their accomplishments from the past season. While neither player is amongst the league leaders in statistics, both are spearheading the incredibly consistent score-by-committee playstyle the Legion have implemented all season. After a tough start to the season which saw the Legion sitting 2nd last in the conference for an uncomfortable amount of time, the system clicked in and saw the team put together wins over the latter two thirds of S90 which included a 13-0 winning streak. “It honestly did not feel like that many games – we were just committing to playing the way we wanted to, and it eventually paid off” said Jax after practice on Saturday. “This is the way we want to win games – we don’t need to rack up points, just play a team game. We think this style translates well in the tight checking games you see in the playoffs”. After a disappointing end to a stacked team last season – Jax says there’s no lessons to learn. “It’s a tough league – we just gotta keep playing our game hopefully with some luck it pays off”.

RIGA REIGN PRESS CONFERENCE December 3rd, 2023 1. How does it feel to be one of Riga's best season rosters in a few seasons? 2. What's the message to the team going into the final week of the season? 3. Is there any importance in winning the conference, or is it preferred to stay healthy for the playoffs? 4. The trade deadline saw no trades - what do you think the reason for this was? 5. Do you have any big plans this holiday season? 6. Are you ready for the cold weather that winter brings?

@JCarson just a heads up (unless I missed something myself) - you don't need to create a new topic for every new press conference. Just keep replying to the same topic as what most other teams do. cheers
