So as I'm sure everyone saw my post this morning about how I was stepping down from my role as GM. I promised a thread airing everything out about it and well, here we go So something I wanna clarify first is that it wasn't my decision to leave. I was told that I needed to step down by Monday or else I'd be fired from my role, so it was a move to save face I guess. About a week and a half ago, I was contacted by a certain blue telling me that this was my official warning and that if my performance and activity dont change, im done. So guess what? I did improve both of those. Over the past week I improved my activity greatly, and even made my team much better, or at least in a better position to succeed in the future. Then yesterday I get a DM from said blue telling me to step down. Tell me how on earth it's fair that I get a warning, and I respond by doing much better, and still getting canned? If they fired me outright 2 weeks ago, fine, that's fair. But it's an absolutely bullshit move by the BOGs to drag it out and give me a chance to redeem myself if they were going to fire me anyways. Fuck the BOGs So my activity has been a hot topic of debate. "If yoU DoNt hAvE tIME tO ruN a TeaM ThEN sTeP doWn." I had time to run the team, and I arguably did. I had trade talks, talked to a few draftees, was active on the forums (as evidenced by around christmas time) and stayed active because i had a player lighting up the vhlm so of course i stayed to see how he did. Everyone likes to say how I dropped off the face of the earth but that's completely not true. I'll admit I wasnt AS active as I once was, but i was still logging on daily and being apart of the community, so another fuck you to the BOGs there If you don't know the story of how I spiraled downhill, originally I had gotten a bit burnt out of the league as one does. Then I sprained my ankle, then I got a concussion, then I went home for the holiday season. All this, and I STILL managed to keep busy with GM work and such. I'm not using this as a sole excuse, but it definitely contributed to me logging in less. So no, I was not inactive as the BOGs made it out to be. Fuck you The moral of this article is that being a VHL GM is a thankless job. Nobody starts conversations about someone does a good job GMing, or how often people make solid trades. I made some slip ups and they were amplified for whatever reason. It's pretty stressful when the enjoyment of 15 other people rests in your hands, and then to have people tell you that you're doing a shitty job is so hard. Seriously, my efforts for the past 14 months have rewarded me with maybe like 60 TPE. Not once did I genuinely feel like people cared that I was GMing. There have been a handful of players I've GM'd who I'm gonna miss a lot and I loved having them, but a majority of players can go fuck themselves. The point of this article isn't to start drama (ok maybe a little) but just air out how fucked up this all is. And maybe I become a heel and that guy that nobody likes on the site. That's fine, that's already how I feel when we have the dumbfucks on discord that nobody likes, but then they magically get important jobs, it's just ludicrous. I'm not playing the victim card and saying "oh everybody hates me give me attention meh" but there were genuinely countless times where I've questioned why I even continue to log in when people like that just genuinely make me wanna quit the site. But, there are a few words I'd like to give out to some notable people during my tenure... Beav - Genuinely my favorite GM, loved talking to you and making trades, but I think I've made my opinions on this very clear lately Hedge - Another gem of a guy. Known you for what seems like forever and I always enjoy conversations with you involved Bana - Boy do we have a rocky history, but at least we put it behind us sometimes Enorama - Loved you when we played on Riga, but I think I've made it very clear how I feel about you now... Devise, Quik - Didn't talk to you two much but you seemed cool Nyko, Dil, Hogan, and the rest of your butt buddies - You guys were actually the reason I considered quitting the site. I don't see how you guys can be so universally unliked yet still be thriving on this site. I want you to know that there are actually people reading this right now that can't stand you guys and I know for a fact that people have quit and requested trades because of you guys. BladeMaiden - Looks like I'm joining you in the "everyone dislikes them now" category. Always love shootin the shit with you about dumb VHL stuff haha Anyways thats all, have fun with this

This is the last time I’ll quote you in here, because I have a whole nother thread to go. only one occurred when I was in the middle of a rebuild, the other was when I was competing. I’ve explained to you time and time again that I was busy during both drafts but I was outnumbered when it came to availability. And I’m saying this for the 10th time to you, I don’t like lists

Lack of time my ass. If i had such a lack of time, why was I making trades all week? What about trade take all month? I missed the draft because I was traveling, how many times do I have to say this? If beav missed a draft, would you consider him inactive? No, you wouldnt and don’t act for a second like I haven’t been getting shit thrown my way for at least 5 seasons now. You were one of the main people memeing me and davos. I like to think I have decently thick skin, but after a while of people criticizing your every move and constantly making you into a meme, it’s sucks ass

So it's with a heavy heart that today I announce that I'm stepping down from my GM duties from HC Davos Dynamo. This wasn't my decision, rather I was volun-told to do this but it doesn't make it any better. This change will happen immediately and later today I will be posting a thread airing out all the dirty laundry from the behind the scenes work because I can do that now Thanks for a great 6 seasons Davos, hopefully one day I'll return PS: The people I fucking hate will have a field day with this. 1) Tried to get us some more assets, but I don't think I'm done yet, there will probably be more moves before the season starts 2) That trade with all the picks. IMO it was a win for us, we have some useful assets to deal to maybe acquire a top prospect or more picks 3) Forwards first off, but I guess we need a top league prospect to get real hyped about 4) Well I've been GMing Davos heading into my 7th season now, so that long. But my player just got drafted 5) Mainly try to fix our imagine and have people actually wanting to play here again 6) Seattle likely, but my hot take pick is Riga. They're sneakily good

1 of which was used on my own player so i had 2. And figured I've said this like 10 times but ill say it again, i dont like lists, i think theyre dumb, id rather bpa. i wasnt able to make it draft day due to flying all day. Also like I said, one of them didnt wanna stay, and peace was interested in all of them and he was set on this deal so i didnt turn it down. I'd much rather try again next draft with 2 lottery picks rather than 2 later picks

TLDR: Davos wins the trade but Shawn is dead so Toronto wins

realistically, we didnt have much of a choice. we didnt have our own first so we sucked for no reason, and the players we did take didnt wanna be here.

I don't wanna be arrogant about it, but Glade Jr drove both the offense and defense on a team that frankly didn't have support in either category. The 2nd highest scoring dman and the top dmen in defensive categories, i mean thats about as much you can get out of a two-way. I think DeYeeto wins DOTY just because im sure the committee values offensen more than defense (for whatever reason) but I feel like Walker will take MVP, again for some reason
