  1. 6. It feels great! And I'm proud of myself! 7. I like everything except they shouldn't have removed the breakaway challenge. I liked it, it was creative and fun. 8. YES
  2. Who the hell is Boomchenko? Never heard of him. (I am aware it's Boom this is a joke)
  3. This series will be about old stars and familiar faces and what they are doing now. I asked Mr. Chershenko if I could follow him around for the day and interview him. He said yes. When he retired, he told me that he helped out the recruitment crew by promoting posts on social media and he worked in the background of that league. He moved back to Ukraine as the league's representative here. He eventually became head of the VHL's eastern European scouting wing. They work in conjunction with a few player agencies to find players from the Czech Republic to Russia. He says that he is currently helping a team of scouts to find a GM player for his old agent, Victor Alfredsson, so that Victor could bring it to Moscow. He jokes that he is probably more busy now than when he used to play, which, by the sound of it, might not be wrong. An interesting post-retirement. (if you can even call it that) I followed him around for most of the day. He really was busy. We kept moving from place to place and there was almost never a time he wasn't helping the league. We did have a nice lunch at McDonalds. He ordered a Big Mac with fries with some Coke. I just sat there, eating my salad. When he saw my salad, he told me to forget about hockey for a while and that I should treat myself. Kinda hypocritical, don't you guys think? After a few more hours of him working, we finally returned to his house. And, of course, like any good reporter should do, I interviewed him. My first question was, who is your favourite young player in the VHL. He replied, "There's the player I know best in the VHL because he's come through the same agency and that's Podrick Cast, but I'm not sure if he qualifies as young anymore, even though they're all quite young to me. I like the look of Julian Borwinn personally, he's got an eye for the net, a shoot-first, think-later kind of guy which is my favourite part of the game." Borwinn, for those who didn't know, won top rookie in Season 63. I admire him as well. He seems to find ways to score even when it's thought to be impossible to score. Knowing that some players are retiring soon, I asked if he had any tips for players who are retiring soon. He said some wise words that young players should remember for when it's my time. "Start planning ahead, get into contact with people and stay in the game, whatever you do. There's so many opportunities to suit anyone and it really helps move on from hockey. You don't want to be the miserable old former player who's constantly reminiscing about his glory days 20 years ago." Wise words to remember. I pondered those words. After a while, I interviewed him again. I asked him what moment in his career was he most proud of. After all, the guy was a superstar, winning awards left and right. He laughed and said, "That's a tough one, I was blessed with a pretty good career if I may say so myself haha. My last season was pretty dreamy, coming back to my VHL home in Calgary, and winning just about every award there was to win, just a shame we fell in Game 7 of the finals. Ending a very long cup drought in New York was also a highlight, but wish we could repeat it the next season. The #1 moment has to be captaining Calgary to the cup in S30 and scoring the cup-winning goal - that's just everything you could wish for growing up and wanting to play hockey. I've enjoyed a pretty friendly reception in Calgary ever since, I can tell you that! " We both laughed at his little joke at the end. Of course, as a reporter, I couldn't just leave it at that. Being the negative little person I am, I asked him what moment he regrets the most in his illustrious career. "Weirdly, despite the whole cup drought breaking thing above, the trade to New York. In hindsight, I wish I could have spent my entire career in Calgary but I wanted a change of scenery and it looked like a good solution to the cap problems we had. In reality, I think only NY came out of it as the winners and I'm just glad I had a chance to finish where it started which I'm not sure I necessarily deserved. The grass is not always greener, that's for sure." I nodded and thought about his words. We talked and chatted about hockey and the League before I left. Now, I should get him to be my agent.
  4. you only played 61 games? damn i am changing it
  5. didnt say it was bad but i'll change it up for ya
  6. Center: Oleksiy Revchenko Oleksiy Revchenko has been one of the Wrangler's best players on the teams struggling roster, the S62 prospect made significant improvements over his rookie season and doesn't appear to be stricken by the infamous sophomore curse. The second-year pro has improved upon his rookie season by notching 28 goals and picking up 31 assists for a combined 59 points. While the Wranglers haven't had as well of a season they'd like, it was anticipated after losing Stopko. Consequentially, Revchenko is one of the bright stars of Calgary's future. Center: Mark Gebauer Mark Gebauer would feel like he hasn't left his 'Mark' this season on the scoreboard, but he's had a really good rookie season in comparison to the rookie class of S64. One of Calgary's latest first-round picks put up 24 goals and contributed 25 assists for a respectable 49 points this season for the rebuilding Calgary squad. He has proven to be a solid center, and he might even be promoted to the first line after Canmore's retirement following the end of next season. Whether Revchenko or Gebauer get the top billet, they're a solid one-two punch down the middle. Left Winger: Karl von Moltke Kark von Moltke might not have had the season he'd like, much less a season people expected of him, but he has had an 'okay' display during his second pro campaign. The left winger was average offensively, registering 11 goals and 31 assists for 41 points. In my opinion, he has the same problem his former teammate and fellow left-winger Ryuu Crimson has: He needs to shoot more. Unfortunately, 'KVM' has seen his development as a prospect drop, and will likely only be a depth forward for Calgary in their future seasons. Defenseman: Lando Baxter Lando Baxter has had a good sophomore season with the Calgary Wranglers. Despite not being as well-known compared to other young defenders in the Victory Hockey League, he is silently great for Calgary as a result. He has scored 15 goals, earned 40 assists for a total of 55 points while blocking 7 shots and a plus/minus of -28. Despite his plus/minus, I don't think he's bad defensively, as the entire Calgary Wrangler roster shared a similar stat due to their rebuilding nature. Right Winger: Wlodzimierz Zajaczkowski Wlodzimierz Zajaczkowski - a name that will likely go down in VHL history as one of the hardest to spell and pronounce - has had an underwhelming rookie season. He's only potted 12 goals while adding 9 assists for an individually disappointing 21 points. Although not developing rapidly, his consistent improvement will likely mean he'll be a solid depth player for Calgary for his tenure with the team. Goaltender: Brick Wahl The Great Wahl of Canada has had, like some of the other Young Guns in Calgary, a mediocre season. Brick has a record of 22-34-5, has a great save percentage of 0.914, and has 3 shutouts. He has had an okay year, but he wasn't good enough to lead them to the playoffs. Though, considering how young he is, he hasn't done half bad. He had some big shoes to fill after the departure of legend Norris Stopko, and in my opinion, has a bright future.
  7. 1. How well do you think Ryuu will do in the playoffs without Gow and Shephard to carry help him? 2. Mr. Cast, what tips do you have for young players? 3. If you weren't on Riga, what team would you like to be on? 4. What is your second favourite sport? 5. If you could sign with an NHL team, what team would you sign with?
  8. 3. I am super sad he went inactive. Best luck to him wherever he is now. 4. Hopefully. 5. Yup! If not, I hope I at least contribute.
  9. I just remembered I still have the Wild logo as my pfp

    I forgot about that lol

  10. Baluts but, nice try!
  11. Question: Is there going to be a way that I can watch the game even if I miss the stream?
  12. On the Bench: VSN Writer SlapshotDragon/DimeTime Ryuu: Hey guys! Ryuu here! Today I'm going to interview VSN Writer SlapshotDragon! Or as you discord folks know him as, DimeTime! Dime: Hey. Ryuu: Now, we have a few questions. Here's the first question. On a scale from 10-10, how gay is Hedgehog? Dime: Let me guess.....Nyko? Ryuu: Yup. Dime: Well, I asked him, he said he wasn't, so we'll just say that dash in the question is a subtraction symbol. Ryuu: Ah, smart. Next question, how did you get your name? Dime: Like, my real name? Well, when I was a baby, I accidentally swallowed some drugs- Ryuu: And we're gonna stop you right there! Jeez dude. Can't have the parents complaining. Dime: Oh, do you mean my discord name? Ryuu: Yeah, sure. Dime: Well, not much people know this but I did it as a joke. There was this guy on the discord named DollarAndADream and there was also a guy named pennypenny so it was like a whole money theme. I'm trying to get someone to name themselves NickelAndANightmare. Ryuu: Oh god, we got a lot more questions. Dime: Well. Go on. Ryuu: Are you a virgin? Dime: Yes. Sadly. I'll probably die one. Ryuu: Damn. That's sad. Okay. Would you get kicked in the balls for a million bucks? Dime: I don't have any. Ryuu: You're a girl? Dime: No, I'm just insulting myself. But, I sound like one so I could see why you might think that. Ryuu: Oh shut up, no you don't. Dime: I have a question for you Ryuu. Why the hell do you sound and look exactly like me? Ryuu: SHUSH YOU CAN'T REVEAL WE'RE THE SAME PERSON! Dime: Okay okay. Ryuu: Good. Now, next question. Dime: But by saying that you just revealed that we are, indeed, the same person. Ryuu: I FINNA BEAT YOUR A- *static*
  13. (In Davos) Ryuu: Hey there! Ryuu here. My good friend from the VSN has asked me to follow Rhett Stoffiday around the town and try to catch him being bad, naughty, or rebellious. The whole league think he's one of the most nicest and respectful players out there. I like him, but I hope to prove them wrong. I get paid more if I do. Oh, here he comes now. Time to take a page out of his book and hide in the garbage can. I proceeded to hide in the garbage can just as Stoffiday walked by. I changed into my disguise and began to follow him around. We arrived at the rink. Ryuu: Ah. Practice. Let's see if I can figure anything out. While he was talking, I sneaked in and avoided security. I then put up cameras to spy on them. Then, I went out of the locker room. As I walked in the halls, I saw him. Rhett: Hey Ryuu! Crap! My disguise didn't work! Ryuu: Hey man! How's life? Now, I know you won't care about our conversation. We just talked about everyday stuff. After, he went in. I watched them using the cameras. I saw him take some kind of powder. Ryuu: No! Are those drugs? After they left, I snuck in and examined the powder he consumed. There was no wrapper. So I decided to try it. Ryuu: Hopefully this doesn't kill me. I consumed it and I heard popping. These weren't drugs! This was popping candy! At least they were orange flavoured. I walked out of there and decided to watch from the stands. After the practice, I snuck into his car. He left it unlocked while talking to his friends. He went in and drove away. He parked and I noticed him drinking some drink from a glass bottle. He drinks and drives? Oh boy, this is shocking. Man, I like him, but this is bad. I'll just record this. I took the camera and recorded him drinking it. Then I zoomed in. That wasn't alcohol! That was sparkling orange juice! He started to drive away. I cursed quietly and watched but nothing happened. Rhett: Ah, finally here. We were at a bar. He went out, and while he wasn't looking, I went out and somehow got away. I walk in after him. I go to the bathroom and quickly change into a better disguise. I walk in and follow him while trying to look casual and not like I was following him. He sat down and I sat down 2 seats away. I didn't buy a drink, I just watched him. He was drinking some beer from a bottle. Rhett was drunk for sure. Wait a second. This doesn't feel right. I tried to look closer but he got up and went to his car. I rushed following him, trying to hide. He went in the car and talked on his phone. He was actually gonna do it! Rhett was finally gonna drink and drive! I recorded everything. While I celebrated in my head, I noticed something. Oh no. I made a mistake. That wasn't a beer bottle. That was some sparkling orange juice. Ryuu: Fuck! Rhett noticed and stopped the car. He looked at my hiding spot. Rhett: Ryuu?! What the frick dude?! Ryuu: It's not what it looks like. Rhett: Oh boy, I know why you're here! He pulled out a case. RHETT WAS GONNA SHOOT ME! I freaked out internally as he pulled out the case with the gun in it. He opened it and pulled out the weapon out. I scream inside my head. This is how it ends! Then I look at it. It was a banjo. I mistook a fucking banjo for a gun. Rhett: You came to hear me sing! He ended up singing. When I heard him that moment, I had wished that earlier he pulled out a gun instead.
  14. 1) How the hell do you pronounce your name? 2) What is your pet peeve? 3) Thoughts on Chiarelli being fired. 4) Thoughts on VSN? 5) What do you think is the easiest way to get TPE?
  15. 10. Nope. I appreciate them. 1. I think Peace is actually. 2. If anyone stoops as low as Davos, they're the next team.
  16. Thank you @Peace for editing it!
  17. These articles will be about the young guns of every team in the league - players in their first or second season. Today we're covering the Riga Reign. Left Winger: Ryuu Crimson Ryuu Crimson has reached twenty goals for the second consecutive season, scoring 22 times while recording 40 points during his second campaign so far. Ryuu has contributed to the Reign offensively, however his defensive play is mediocre. Crimson has a great shot, and if he learned to shoot more I bet he would be great. You can tell that Riga's general manager believes in the youngster and his abilities after signing him for the entirety of his career. Right Winger: Rylan Peace Rylan Peace - like Ryuu - has had a rough start to the season, but after being moved to the second line his offensive game seemed to pick up. So far Peace has scored 18 goals and contributed 17 assists. Peace has shown he has some smooth hands, being able to pass the puck better than Crimson. Although previously on Riga's top offensive unit, he was demoted to the second line and has shown signs of just how electric he can be. The right winger has a bright future, and he has been great for the Reign. Center: Anthony Dabarno Unfortunately there isn't much to say for Dabarno other than 'he's struggling'. Dabarno certainly didn't start his VHL career the way he wanted. Defenseman: Ryan Kastelic Ryan Kastelic has been nothing short of stellar for the Riga Reign. He is a solid two way defender who's amazing defensively and better offensively. Kastelic has 14 goals, 47 assists and 61 points for the Reign this season and has proven to be a significant asset to the club. Ryan would be a top contender for the top rookie award, but he is playing in his second season in the VHL and can't win it. Defenseman: Shawn Glade Glade has been a strong defensemen for Riga. The shoot first defender has 10 goals, 28 assists and 38 points. Although he hasn't recorded as many points as Ryan Kastelic, Shawn has displayed his defensive prowess on the back end for Riga to make up for it. He is +15, good for 5th on his team among a deeply talented Riga defense. Glade has a bright future and has shown that he can accelerate as a two way defender as well. Defenseman: Dylan Nguyen Nguyen and Crimson share a healthy friendship with one another, and with Ryuu's support the struggling Nguyen has stabilised somewhat for his second VHL season. Nguyen has potted 6 goals, recorded 24 assists for 30 points. Although not an offensive powerhouse like Ryan Kastelic, or a defensive stalwart like Shawn Glade, Nguyen has respectable stats. He supports a good +/- and is behind only Glade in shots blocked. Overall, Nguyen is a solid two-way defender for the Reign. Goaltender: Kallis Kriketers Kallis Kriketers... for a goalie officially recognised last season as the worst netminder to win a championship, he is having a season to prove the nay-saying haters wrong. Kallis has been great for Riga, earning a 39-10-3 record for himself that supports his 9 shutouts. Oh, that also happens to be a league leading stat. Kallis has backstopped Riga to the top of the league, and although he's had lapses, Riga remains the favourite to repeat as Continental Cup Champions once again with him between the pipes.
  18. I felt bad when you had to read Zajaczkowski's name ?
  19. VSN - Trade Review! Trade 1: Seattle receives: Veran Dragomir Quebec City recieves: Jake Davis The Charm S65 DAV 4th S66 SEA 3rd Quebec made a shocking move by trading their top scorer, Veran Dragomir, to Seattle. But, they did get 4 things in return. Now it's time to see if it was worth it. Quebec got Jake Davis, who is scoring as much as Veran, and is equal level with him. Veran for Jake would have been a good trade, but on top of that they get The Charm who is also great offensively, plus really high draft picks. That is such a good deal. Davis has been great plus he is younger than Veran and has more room to grow. About The Charm, if you are a Quebec fan don't get too attached. Because Quebec soon traded him. Though, props to Beaviss for getting such a good tradable asset in The Charm. For the draft picks, again, they are really high which means even more young prospects. In my opinion, Beaviss has set a great future for the Quebec City Meute. Seattle has a good scorer, but I don't think it was worth Davis and some other great potential picks. If I haven't made it obvious already, I think that the Quebec City Meute won this trade. Sure, Seattle has a great scorer, and Veran will be great for them, but Davis is as good as him plus Quebec gets 2 draft picks. Trade 2: Helsinki receives: The Charm Quebec City Recieves: Konstantin Mulligan So this is an interesting trade. The Charm is a veteran with only 2 years left before he leaves the Victory Hockey League. Konstantin is playing his third season in the Victory Hockey League and is a young prospect. There is a drastic difference in points and goals, with The Charm having 23 goals and 31 assists (making 54 points) so far in the season, and Konstantin Mulligan with only 5 goals and 10 assists (making 15 points) so far in the season. As of why these two were traded, it's obvious The Charm was traded for his goal scoring and point scoring, and Quebec has Konstantin for the future of their franchise. Despite the bad stats so far, he is young, so he has a lot of potential. In my opinion though, The Charm still has 2 seasons of playing and has way more goals, and even if he is deprecated, he should still be pretty good and should help the Quebec City offensively. Konstantin Mulligan, he's young and has potential, but I think Helsinki won out this trade, in the short term. In the long term though, Quebec won out on this deal because The Charm will soon retire and Mulligan is again, young with a lot of potential, but he also has good depth and can cause turnovers. So, overall, it was a fair trade. Overall, I think Quebec has made 2 really good trades and I'm excited to see how they improve with these changes. Good luck to all the teams involved in these trades!
