Hat Trick Patrick Ryuu! It’s the World Cup! And unlike the NHL, our players get to play some international hockey! If you watched the Team World game, you'd know that fluke master winger Ryuu Crimson had a hat trick and an assist in a match which saw him named the first star of the game! Crimson is no stranger to hat tricks, as he's had one in his two previous seasons in the VHL. During the S63 playoffs, Crimson notched a hat trick in game 3 against the QC Meute in the semis, as he was fluking working his way to the Kanou and a Continental Cup. “This feels amazing. Me, representing my country and being able to score a hat trick on the international stage. I can’t stress how great this feels. Sure, it wasn’t as cool as my hat trick during the ‘63 playoffs but I am still super psyched up about this and it makes me even more excited for the season to start.” There was no shortage of praise for the Young Winger, from coaches and players alike, but he still directed it back to his teammates. “Sure, I scored the goals but you also gotta appreciate how lights out my teammates played. Chucky (Maxim Kovalchuk) and Rev (Oleksiy Revchenko) made great passes to me and were awesome as well, and Preen (Edwin Preencarnacion) was great in general and I’m super thankful I got a chance to play with them.” Ryuu has proved himself on the international stage before, representing Asia in the WJC and winning silver, (and now with a World Cup Gold,) and we hope he can prove himself again next time. Team World is slowly becoming a force in the World Cup, as they won their 2nd ever World this off-season.

Ryuu Crimson Press Conference

4) I've become a better passer. 5) I see myself staying on the second line. 1. Podrick Cast because he can be very confused when it comes to social media and I frickin love it when he posts a question about how to use twitter, it's just so funny. -
We are here today with Left Winger Ryuu Crimson. Recently, Riga traded away Rylan Peace for Randoms. Knowing his relationship with Rylan, we asked him about it. “I’m gonna miss Peace.” was the first thing Ryuu said. “I had fun playing with him and he’s been great. I wish him luck in Davos and for the rest of his career.” We also asked him about the acquisition of Randoms. “Hey, it’s a pretty good acquisition. Randoms was pretty good last year and I have experience with him. Me and him have been together in the Sponsor’s Shield as well as the All-Star game. Welcome to Riga, Randoms!” There was also a trade between fellow Left Winger, Leph Twinger, as he was traded for 3 draft picks. “Eh, honestly, despite his stats, he was a solid player, and he was a big mentor to me. I gotta thank him for helping with my checking and strength. Good luck Twingy, hope you’re great for New York!”

Shawnomir Jagr Press Conference

1) Are you related to Jaromir Jagr? 2) Jersey Number? 3) Flames or Oilers? 4) Who do you think will win the Continental Cup? 5) Best VHL prospect? -
-Trade 1- receives: Randoms receives: Rylan Peace Seems like I like to review trades that involve scoring leaders as Davos trades away their Team Scoring Leader, Randoms, for another Right Winger, Rylan Peace. Randoms has had a good season as an individual with 28 goals and 29 assists combining for an impressive total of 57 points, while on the other hand, Rylan Peace has scored 24 goals and 22 assists for a pretty close total of 46 points. Despite Randoms having the better season points and goals wise, I would say this is an even trade considering Peace didn’t have as much ice-time. Randoms and Rylan are both excellent players, and only time will tell if there really is a true winner to this trade. -Trade 2- receives: Leph Twinger receives: S65 NYA 2nd S66 NYA 1st S67 NYA 2nd This was a trade that surprised me. No offense to Leph Twinger, but I feel like Riga won this trade. Twinger has been okay, potting 21 goals and assisting 29 times, for a total of 50 points. He hasn’t been bad, but New York receives him at the cost of 3 very high picks, all which could potentially draft a superstar. Unless Leph Twinger catches on fire and gets some of his old scoring flair, or unless the picks are busts, I think it’s safe to say Riga wins this one.

VSN - Blast From The Past - Fabio Jokinen
SlapshotLegion posted a topic in VSN - Victory Sports News
So after that traumatizing interesting experience during my Blast From The Past on Encarnacion, Reencarnacion, and Threencarnacion, I decided to do one on Fabio Jokinen. For those idiots people who don’t know who he is, he is a Hall of Fame defenseman who is one of the greatest defensemen in Meute history. Fun fact, I should know, because I wrote his Hall of Fame article. I called him and he said he was open to it! It turns out, after he retired from the (good old) hockey game, he moved right back to Finland. Both he and his wife had family there, so it was a pretty easy decision. Fabio lives in a six-bedroom mansion near Helsinki, and his wife lives next door in a separate house. He says he did this not because something was going on or because he didn’t love her, but he said it was because he didn’t like to look at her in the mornings. Apparently, Fabio isn’t working right now, so he says he spends his days doing whatever. So, I decided to follow him around. He wakes up at around 9. I was already awake waiting for him. He came down, made some coffee and then sat at the computer. We had a good laugh as he watched his own highlights on YouTube but posted mean comments about himself. He also went on some forums and posted threads that said “Who is the most overrated player?” to which he posts in the thread his own name. The responses were immediate and it was pretty fun. Then after, we watched some podcasts like Bobby Lee, Santino, and The Fighter and The Kid. He says he typically watches one or two episodes per day, but we decided to watch one episode of each podcast. Thanks to him, I am now a fan of all of those. We watched until noon, and went over to his wife’s house to check on her. They went out for lunch. Surprisingly, he didn’t seem pissed about living in separate houses, and they were romantic. It was awkward for me considering I was just there and calmly eating my sandwich as they made out for half an hour. They then toured me around Helsinki for about an hour, which was pretty fun. Then we went back home and we both worked out in his home gym. His gym is super cool. I thought about stealing some equipment. (No, just kidding, stealing is bad.) I need to get myself a home gym when I have enough money. We then watched some podcasts, played Fallout 76, and Euro Truck Simulator. We figured out that I’m the better Fallout 76 player but he is better at Euro Truck Simulator. He tells me that if his wife is up to it, sometimes they go out for dinner. After a long day, I slept over at his house. His guest bedroom was nice, and the bed was super comfy. (Maybe I should’ve taken a pillow…) The next day, we woke up, and I interviewed him. I asked him what part of his career is he most proud of. He replied, “Has to be the Season 56 cup with Quebec, first and only one for me, but it was first for Quebec in a long time. In general, just getting to play so long in Quebec was an awesome experience, fans were so nice to me and I managed to reach my potential and go beyond it due to the great coaching staff we had.” Me, being the Negative Nancy I am, also asked him what he regrets the most in his career. “Maybe not a regret, but would have been a dream to end my career in Quebec, but hockey world is a cold place sometimes and trades are always a possibility, I enjoyed my time in Seattle and Toronto, but Quebec was always in my heart as number one.” And, as usual, I hit him with the, “any advice for future (whatever position the person is, so in this case defensemen)” question. And he replied with some advice that all defensemen this league should know. “Don´t look what others are doing, stay true to what kind of player you are. VHL is not what it was maybe years ago, it´s all about skill and speed these days, so make sure you never stop working on your skating and on your stick and puck skills - going to be your key to success. Don´t have to be over the top physical if you are in the right place and think ahead.” At noon, he drove me to the airport and we said our goodbyes. He gave me a Jokinen jersey which I’m probably gonna keep forever. Stay chill Fabio! -
We must reunite Team Asia.

I tried to get former star Edwin Encarnacion to do a Blast From The Past article. He didn’t answer. For those who didn’t know, Edwin Encarnacion is a VHL Legend who went from playing in Major League Baseball to tying up the skates and playing in the Victory Hockey League. Pretty cool. I mean, name one other person who can say that they were a superstar in more than two major leagues. Knowing he is a superstar, I thought he probably was busy or something, so I called an even bigger star, Edwin Reencarnacion. You know, the guy who won MVP, Most Outstanding, Most Goals, Top Two-Way Forward, and Most Points, all in one season. He didn’t answer my call either. Eh, should’ve expected that. I mean c’mon, he’s the type of player that even Crosby could only dream of being. I called Edwin Threencarnacion. It’s so weird how their names are so similar. He didn’t pick up. Hm. Normally, I would’ve left them alone, but I had a deadline looming. Thankfully, a couple weeks before, I ran into Encarnacion. Hoping that this would be useful, I put a tracking device (aka the plot device) on his jacket. It’s his favourite jacket. I checked my computer, and sure enough, I found an address. I won’t tell you the address for privacy reasons. I went there. I was shocked. It looked like a lab. Did he become a scientist or something? I walked in. It was completely empty. There were a few quadrants but one caught my attention. Cloning Room. Curious, I went in. I will never forget what I saw. There were 4 giant test tubes with some kind of liquid in it with bodies in the first three test tubes. The last one was completely empty plus there was a hole and glass surrounding it. The hole was probably enough for a grown man, maybe the size of Edwin Preencarnacion, to fit through. I looked up and there was a sign above each test tube. One of the signs said, Encarnacion. One said Reencarnacion. One said Threencarnacion. The last one above the broken one said… Preencarnacion.

Defenseman: Joseph McWolf Joseph has been, no doubt about it, the best player for the Americans. With 18 goals and 62 assists making a total of a team-leading 80 points, plus, he leads in hits and shots blocked showing off what a two-way player he is. One of the few people not affected by the Sophomore Curse, he has been great for the Americans, being probably one of the best two-way defenseman in the entire league. Right Winger: Roctrion King The King of New York has been great for the Americans. He, like Joseph, has been a star for the Americans, with 37 goals and 38 assists. Those numbers accumulated with a point total of 75, which put him at the second highest point scorer for the Americans. Roctrion has been electric, and I can't wait to see his career unfold. Center: Scott Shawinganen Scott is in his second season in the VHL and is doing amazing. He, like all the other Young Guns in New York, has been great. He has scored 34 goals and got 38 assists making a point total and 72. Due to the whole roster literally only made out of Rookies and players in their second season (except the goalie), him and the other Young Guns being so good has been crucial. Right Winger: Dan Wilinsky Dan has shown that he is also a great forward and has shown that he has a great future. Sure, he might be shadowed by the brilliance that is Roctrion King, but he has been a star as well, with 32 goals and 35 assists, making a point total of 67 points. Just like every other Young Gun in this list, he has been superstar level and I can't wait to see his development as a player. Center: Joel Ylonen Joel is the first rookie on this list and has had a good Rookie Season scoring 18 goals and having 39 assists (making 57 points). His goal scoring could use some improvement but he has shown that he is a great passer and that you can count on him to set up a goal. Joel has been a great rookie and has set himself up to be the next Joe Thornton. Defenseman: Ryan Sullivan Jr. Despite being 2nd last in point scoring for the Americans (out of the user created players), he has been a great offensive player for New York. He has had 10 goals and 46 assists making an impressive point count of 56, and the fact he is a defenseman makes it even more impressive. All of these Young Guns have been superstar level, and I can't stress how excited I am to see their future Center: Ryan Zabby Ryan, despite being on the lower end of user-created player scoring, has also had a great rookie season, with 22 goals and 32 assists. He has been a solid center for the New York Americans and is really good for a third line center. Zabby has a great future, and despite saying this about 100 times, I am very excited to see his future unfold.
