Saskatoon-Ryuu Crimson and Dylan Nguyen are coming back to Saskatoon to visit old fans and to see how their old team is doing. They, along with Rylan Peace, are having a few exhibition games with some other old members and Saskatoon veterans including Jordie Tonn, Kevin Weekes, and Hall of Famer, Fabio Jokinen. They are calling this event the Saskatoon Reunion, where fans get to re-meet their favourite players from way back when. There will be a game, a barbecue, and a public skate. You will be able to meet the players as well. There will also be a part where all the former players get together and share some stories about their time here. It will take place at the Saskatoon Arena on November 7th and opens at 7AM and closes on November 8th, 12AM and it's 14 bucks per adult, 7 bucks per kid. It is a great way to spend some time as a family. Call 420-360-6969 for tickets now!

Riga-Ryuu Crimson has had a pretty slow start. He has 13 points with 7 goals and 6 assists, and just like he said, he scored more goals than he has assists. Crimson has been one of the slower rookies, despite the fast start. "Yeah, I haven't been playing as well as I did in Halifax. I would say I would work harder, but I think I should be playing smarter instead of harder." Ryuu responded when he was asked about what he's going to do moving forward. Ryuu Crimson scored 33 goals last season with Halifax and Saskatoon, as well as scoring 2 goals and 8 assists in the playoffs. He had a great start that season. Despite his slow start though, he is doing better than most people expected. In fact, most people didn't expect him to even make the Victory Hockey League. His physical play though, is a different story. He has had 42 hits this season and 24 penalty minutes. If you think that is impressive though, rewind back to last season where he was a physical monster. He had 155 hits, and he had 66 penalty minutes. During the Season 62 playoffs, in which he played 8 games, he had 28hits. Impressive considering his size. Ryuu Crimson has been really good in puck handling, not as good as his teammates, but still pretty good. He has made some beautiful moves. Nothing more to say about this really. He also is great on the forecheck, his offensive plays being really good. That is the reason he has had 85 shots on goal. Last year, with the 21st and Wild, he had 192 shots on goal. His high amount of shots is a big reason he was a 30+ goal scorer, and a big reason he was a top 10 goal scorer in the VHLM. He has recently gotten offers from the National Hockey League because of this. He has recently gotten deals from the Calgary Flames, St Louis Blues, Minnesota Wild, Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres, and the San Jose Sharks, all he denied. When asked about it he said, "Well, the National Hockey League would be a great opportunity but I want to stay in the Victory Hockey League. I have made many friendships and have had so many memories here." His defensive play has improved drastically, where last year he barely blocked shots and his defence wasn't really good. Already this year, he has 4 blocked shots and has had some impressive defensive plays. When asked about this drastic change of playing style, he said, "I really need to thank Dylan Nguyen and the veteran Edwin Preencarnacion. Dylan used to be a center, so he helped me improve in getting into my zone faster and helped me become better at defending. He also helped me get better at skating. Edwin helped as well. Edwin has also helped me in shooting, passing plays, and he also helped me improve my penalty shots." Despite the slow start, the future of this young winger looks very promising, and we are excited to see the growth.

Pat Svoboda Press Conference
SlapshotLegion replied to StamkosFan's topic in Player Press Conferences
1. Hi! Welcome to the VHL! What are you looking forward to here? 2. Which VHLM team would you wanna be drafted to? 3. Any pre-game rituals your players has? 4. Who is your favourite NHL player? 5. Favourite NHL Team? 6. Why did you choose to be a right wing? -
We really owe this dude a lot. Doing all of that for 3.5 years himself, taking the time to do it despite the fact he could do something else, you got to respect that. Despite people continuously complaining about how the VHLM seasons take so long to start (myself guilty), he never backed down. Thank you @Higgins!

1. Who would you say is your idol in the Victory Hockey League? (VHL or VHLM player) 2. Goals for this season? 3. Any weird pre-game rituals? 4. You and Peace seem to have a rivalry going, how do you feel about the 2 goal game he had against you? 5. If you weren't an Ace, what team would you want to be in? 6. Thoughts on Ryuu Crimson? -
Riga-Nathan MacKinnon, Rylan Peace, Ryan Kastelic, and Anthony Dabarno were drafted by the Reign. "This draft right here is proof that Hedgehog is the best General Manager. Kastelic is great, will do very well at the blueline, Anthony and MacKinnon are awesome centres, and it's great that they are gonna join us soon. Rylan Peace is the best Right Winger I have every played with, and I am excited to watch his growth. Dylan is the best Defensemen I have ever met, great offensively, good at his own end, and a very good playmaker. I'm so glad I am with him, I bet Baltimore blew up in his first VHL Game. Shawn is a great leader, and I think he should get the A one day in his career." Crimson has been ok, with 6 points, 4 goals and 2 assists. There was some controversy, because a lot of Crimson's points were taken away due to re-simming but Crimson says he will just deal with it. "You know, can't really change anything, if I rant, nothing will happen so, just gotta make up for it in the future."

Riga-Ryuu Crimson was placed on the first line over first overall draft pick Leph Twinger. “I was very surprised, I thought Twinger was gonna be first line and I would be second line at best. But our General Manager, Hedgehog, we call him that because he looks like one, and we are suspicious that he is one, put me on first line. I really hope I can help and I’m not just a waste of cap space, and I owe Hedgey a lot.” As well as Ryuu on the first line, guess who is on the defense first line? That’s right, Baltimore hero, Dylan Nguyen. “I saw that he was on the first defense line and I was so happy for him. Dill Pickle worked hard for it, and deserves it so much. I am so happy for him and I am excited to work with him more often. He is great offensively and a good friend. He will fit in well and will probably stay first line for the rest of his Victory Hockey League career. I checked Twitter, and Baltimore was blowing up with posts about Dylan’s first VHL game and how everyone loved it. I actually saw tons of Baltimore natives in Riga, a month before the opener, getting ready for his first VHL Game. These people would wait a month just to see this defensemen. Also, Baltimore celebrates Dylan day as an actual holiday. Dylan has made his impact in Baltimore sport, and he will probably make a name for himself in the Victory Hockey League.” The Defenseman and Left Wing have been friends for a long time and are excited to be able to play together in the Big Leagues and were seen opening night for their Victory Hockey League Debut. “Honestly, if I score a goal, Dylan’s name will probably be in the assist column. You might think I’m joking but for most of my Victory Hockey League Minor career, he was always the assistant. He is such a good passer, and he will probably get more apples than an 600 acre apple orchard.” Ryuu said before the game. Ryuu Crimson was a first line Left Wing before, when he was with the Victory Hockey League Minor’s Saskatoon Wild, but was brought down to second line in Halifax after Karl von Moltke’s dominant performance. Crimson got 30+ goals and was one of the top 10 goal scorers that season. He is yet to get more than 40 goals. “I’m one of those players who get more Goals than Assists. I have been working harder so I can score more goals, and I am working on passing so I can help my teammates.” Crimson was the 9th overall pick, a second rounder, and he was Riga’s third pick, behind Leph Twinger and Dylan Nguyen. He was drafted in the Season 62 Draft. “I really hope I am worth a 9th overall pick and that I can help out Riga, but who knows, anything can happen. Riga has been awesome though, and I would love to stay here."

Review: Really good, well balanced. This guy seems great and will be a great part of the VHL. I thought the Agility being a weakness was weird as well, because of his reaction time, but your explanation made it make sense and it worked. Great article, and I look forward to meeting you on the ice. -Ryuu Crimson

Dahlberg Hits it Off in Ottawa [1/2]

Review: Great article man! This is well organized, and the beginning is great. The quote is a bit long, and maybe it would have been better to break it up, but it is still a good article nonetheless! -
Review: First of all, congrats on going to Riga! First of all, your article is great. The quotes sound like real quotes, and I love the organization. It's just the little things that get me. The spacing, it's great. For the city thing I'm gonna try your version. In most articles I don't see much of use of the term TPE of a real, plausible thing. I mean, it's kinda weird, and it does bother me a bit, but you can keep going with that, not too much of a problem.

I have 3 goals and 1 assist right now, but yesterday, I had 4 goals and 4 assists. I was leading rookies in points with 8, but now look. proof: How did I get a 4th goal with only 3 goals in my records? Plus, the game was completely changed. Why? @Will

Review: First of all, welcome back to the Victory Hockey League. Though, you were in it way before I arrived. I mean, I really have nothing I don't like about this. The font style of the quotes is great, and I like the organization.

Review: Great Article! Congrats getting drafted, 15th overall aint that bad. You never know, they could be great, Gaudreau was a 4th round pick. Great article, and if you do go to the Aces, I hope you get the captainship. Only thing that I would reccomend is to seperate the paragraphs, but that's all.

Review: Great formatting and colouring and I like the sub-titles for each part. The font colours are cool, and the logos on each side of the sub-title and it looks cool and organized. Kallis is awesome. The visuals are great and good job on centering the sub-titles.

A Look At The Bears Thus Far [1/2]
SlapshotLegion replied to Exlaxchronicles's topic in Archived Media Spots
Review: This is a great Media Spot, the stats are great and the organization is awesome. This MS seems very professional and it looks awesome. The points and reasons are very convincing and only 5 goals against is pretty cool. Congrats on the 18 goals in 3 games. The fact the subtitles are not centered kinda bother me but it isn't too big of a deal. -

1. Palindrome day was on Oct 10, due to the date being 8/10/18, forming the palindrime 81018. Did you do anything to celebrate because your full name is a palindrome? 2. Any advice for Rookies? 3. Who out of all the new rookies do you think is the most promising? 4. What tip do you have for people who want to be goal scorers? (Like me?) 5. What non-NHL league is the most exciting in your opinion? -
Ryuu Crimson Press Conference
SlapshotLegion replied to SlapshotLegion's topic in Player Press Conferences
1. I actually thought I was gonna be second line but yeah I'm so excited! I still am in shock that Twinger wasn't first. 2. You know, I think we can make it to the second round of the playoffs but if we work hard probably make it to the Finals and win. 3. Not that I know of, no. Most of us S62 Class people were playing with the S63 Class, so we were used to each other. I feel like the S63 players are having more rivals with other S63 players. You can kind of blend us two classes together, because technically we both are starting our first years but no rivalries between S62 and S63. -
-True North Strong and Free- Ryuu Crimson has just gotten an offer from True North Gear. A 250 000 dollar contract that will last 3 years. "Funny thing about the offer. He offered me a contract immediately after I spoke about my interest, literally 5 minutes later. We talked about it. The dude is awesome. I would accept any offer, and I told him that I was fine with no money. The guy responds by giving me a 250 000 dollar contract and 3 years." Ryuu Crimson has also agreed to use their equipment. "Honestly, I like their gear the best. The gear is very comfortable and is very flexible. It is really good and I would recommend my teammates to try it. Their sticks are great." "Sir, did they pay you to say that?" A reporter asked. Ryuu laughed and replied, "No, I mean it." -Young Star vs VHLM Graduate- More news, he met up with Brick Wahl and asked him to do a shootout. "I went up to the guy and he accepted. Wahl is an amazing goalie and is so tall. The way he plays is kind of unorthodox but it is still a very effective strategy. It is like a mix of Fleury and Hasek's strategies. But he executes it very well. I actually had 40 shots on him and no goals. I got another guy and we tried together to get a goal but it was no use. He made a beautiful Hasek styled save." Ryuu Crimson had a lot to say about this young star. "I really hope I get to play with him, and not against him because if he was goalie, I would probably fail every shot and go crazy because of that. He is so tall and a great person in general. I think I've played against him once before, back in my Junior A days, but I'm sure we lost 4-0. I really like his work ethic. He is really good." The Rookie was very impressive at training camp and has a bright future. "If he ends up becoming the first overall draft pick I hope he doesn't become a complete bust like me. The dude has a lot of potential." -World Cup- Crimson and the Mercenaries got fourth place in the World Cup, Crimson scoring some goals in the process. Despite losing in a shutout in the Bronze Medal round and the losses, they did relatively well. "I think we did well, considering we were just drafted and some of us having no experience whatsoever. It was fun, but I prefer Team Asia like we did in the World Juniors. But, this is not the Juniors anymore, so I guess I'll deal with it. It was still great though. I made a lot of friendships and I hope to be better in future World Cups and finally win the illusive Gold Medal." Crimson might see that gold medal in his hands one day, who knows. Two times was he close to becoming a champion, two times was he disappointed. We're cheering you on Crimson.

Shawn, Dylan, and Crimson are having a great start, Crimson with 2 goals, Dylan Nguyen with 2 assists, and Shawn with 3 points. They had a tremendous first game, and Crimson is proving he is up to the task of top line.
