--> Titans Off-Season Presser 3 <-- For week ending May 24 Answer 3 for 1 TPE, 6 for 2 TPE! 1) Training camp opens on Monday. How do you feel about being back on the ice after a short break? 2) In your opinion what is the most optimistic improvement the team has made in the offseason? 3) How many goals and points do you project our rookie Valtteri Vaakanainen to have? 4) Who on the roster has the most improved team? 5) What is the last thing you ordered online? 6) It's breakfast time, what would be your perfect breakfast?

Prospect Scouting Report - Valtteri Vaakanainen Drafted 10th Overall - Helsinki Titans LW | 6' 2" | 187 lb. | Age: 23 Growing up in Finland offered Vaakanainen plenty of opportunity to watch his countrymen experience success at the international level. He entered hockey at an early age and excelled through SM-Liiga and Liiga through his teens and early 20's. The 1996 born winger decided to head over-seas for a taste of North American hockey with Houston for 22 games in season 70. His short stint with the Bulls was a promising venture which saw Valtteri score 9 goals and add 8 assists for 17 points. His eagerness to show offensive skill from the get-go was seen through his 70 shots while his balanced two-way game was realized with a +8 rating, 19 hits and 7 blocked shots. Houston went on to the playoffs which gave Vaakanainen 8 more games to hone in his skills. He impressed with five goals but Houston was bounced in round two. Season 71 - Minnesota Storm The draft was an all new experience for Valtteri. He was a hopeful for the first round but ultimately fell to the first pick of round two. His new club, the Minnesota Storm were geared up for a big season having already selected three times in round one. Minnesota took to the podium six times in the first two rounds and were immediately a threat on paper. The Storm answered the call and produced and impressive 53-17-2 record placing them 3rd in the league. Vaakanainen took his S70 experience and successfully improved his game in all facets. He was one shy of 50 goals on the season while adding an equally impressive 48 assists for 97 points in the 72 game campaign. His shooting prowess continued to be o display as he fired 411 shots on goal. Defensively VV was a +31, had 24 blocks and averaged over two hits a game with 145. His 10 game winning goals were second on the club. In six playoff games he scored four times and added four helpers. Player ratings Skating: 7.5/10 Scoring: 8.5/10 Defense: 8/10 Discipline: 7.5/10 X-Factor: 7.5/10 Potential: HIGH Areas for Improvement Passing: While his 48 assists look strong on a stat sheet, Valtteri has a strong bias to shoot the puck in most situations rather than seeking out passing lanes to generate more effective offensive opportunities. Leadership: The 23 year old will do well on a team with some veteran presence. He has shown to have a timid personality at times and with media. This is a small concern going forward and should improve with time and experience. Season 72 Draft Vaakanainen was drafted 10th overall to the Helsinki Titans in the S72 entry draft. Helsinki has seen incredible growth from their younger players in Erik Summers, Jim Bob, Hiroshi Okada and Jared Spaz. The recent addition of goalie Michael Johnson give them added confidence in net in a season that should see them return to the post-season. Adding a player like Vaakanainen should speed up their rebuild/retooling and give them increased longevity for success.

Titans and Nighthawks Swap Starters Early Friday morning the Titans and Nighthawks came to terms that would see starting goalies swap hands. Trade talks had kicked off earlier in the week but both clubs could not settle on favorable terms. The deal sent Virgil Ligriv, 14th overall pick in this weekends draft and a 2nd in S74 to Malmo. Helsinki received Michael Johnson, 20th overall pick and a 3rd in S74. Malmo appeared to be committing earlier in the week to a retooling after trading away star defender Jerry Garcia to the rebuilding Davos Dynamo. With today's deal they increase their draft strength now and down the road, all while receiving a respectable starting goalie in the swap. Helsinki looked to improve in goal as they move into season two of their rebuild phase and aim to be back in the playoff picture. The trade was Malmo's 5th, and the Titans 2nd of their respective off-seasons. As the off-season continues it remains to be seen what these two clubs may still have in store before the opening of the S72 season. This weekend should draw a clearer picture of all VHL clubs both through the draft and opening of Free Agency. Stay tuned. Players mentioned: @MMFLEX, @fonziGG

@fonziGG Welcome to Helsinki! Excited to start Johnson’s new chapter. @MMFLEX we already spoke, but I want to double down on how fantastic you were, backing up Pepper all those seasons and gave us a shot to win every game last season as well. Take care and best luck going forward.

--> Titans Off-Season Presser 2 <-- Answer 3 for 1 TPE, 6 for 2 TPE! 1) The off-season is upon us. Are you more excited for the draft or seeing trade activity? 2) If we were to test free agency which position would you like to see us strengthen? 3) With training camp opening next week what will you be focusing on improving? 4) If we had a snack bar post game, which snack would you be excited to see on the menu? 5) Does your player live in an apartment, condo or house? 6) What car does your player drive?

lol, fixed!

My GM player is in the draft, so I just needed any first to pick him. This was a trade to fill a need at D. While we did not plan for the pick to be this good there is really no harm done for our future.

Elsby passed 200 TPE (grandfathered reward level) +10 TPE

Quick jersey render, the logo was quite well done but yes maybe too much detail

Happy Birthday to the masterful architect of the S63 draft (among many many other accolades)

--> Titans Off-Season Presser 1 <-- Answer 3 for 1 TPE, 6 for 2 TPE! 1) Will you be attending this off-season's draft? 2) Who do you see meeting in the finals this post-season? (Vancouver/Seattle and Moscow/Riga remain) 3) Malmo was swept by Moscow. Do you think Helsinki would have put up a stronger fight? 4) Where would your player most likely be found during the off-season? 5) Are you anticipating a return to the playoffs for the Titans in S72? 6) Who in the locker-room has the best pre-game soccer skill?

18 power-plays combined for Riga in games 5 and 6. Sad to see Wahl's career come to a close but I feel like an MVP award is in his near future. Great season for Prague altogether. Good luck to Riga in round two.
