  3. Lewis Dawson knows he will probably spend another season in the VHLM, but he says its part of the development to become a regular professional level hockey player. "I know it takes hard work and a lot of practice at your craft to be good. I don't want to come into the VHL with low confidence and an inability to do the right things for my franchise. I'm looking forward to the draft but know that I probably won't be a shoe-in for a spot on their pro roster right away. I'm probably going to have to earn my dues before I actually get a chance at anything in the pro league, but it's something that inspires me to keep going hard and practicing my craft. Rome wasn't built overnight and right now Mexico City is my sole focus. After all this is the team that put a lot of trust and effort into developing me and that gets my fandom early", said Dawson post practice.
  4. 1. No one really, because our squad is deep and I think we have a good shot. 2. We are, we will be work beaters 3. Mexico City does because of our deep roster and our ability to come up big when the big moment in is full swing. 4. He should help us shore up some spots in our lineup. He sounds like a hard worker and someone who isn't afraid to get busy when the time comes. 5. Easily Jaxon Walker by a country mile. He has been carrying us all season. 6. Kris Rice has been a steady force. I'll go with him because of his goal scoring ability
  5. Weeks ago Lewis Dawson had a chat with the Mexico City coaches and management. The discussion was largely based around Dawson and his place in the lineup. Lewis wanted to be more of an impact player for the Kings. However, it's hard to play the centre position if you can not win face-offs. Thus, Dawson put in the work and now he is the top face-off man in the Mexico City lineup. For the first handful of weeks in the season, Dawson was primarily used as the second line winger and not as the centre that he grew up up playing. His development in other areas of his game have helped him become a very legitimate player the Kings can use down the middle. His point totals are low but developing an all round game has always been Dawson's vision. Lewis will continue to grow in all areas of his game and look to improve defensively in all areas as well.
  6. 1. It makes me feel sad. However, there is a lot to be optimistic about. 2. I think it was a good move as he could help us in the long run 3. We will face whatever team finishes in the spot to face us so we can crush their hopes and dreams. 4. I think we will come into form for the playoffs and play like the #1 seed that we should be. 5. Probably us because we are in Mexico and art is a speciality down here. 6. Looking to be drafted and be under the umbrella of a VHL club for the next season.

  10. The Mexico City Kings have been very good this year but one straw is stirring the hockey related drink for them and that is Jaxon Walker. Walker has 69 points so far this season in only 37 games played. The young forward is on pace for a season just shy of 150 points. Walker is one of the leagues greatest young players since Tyler Vassell came up through the ranks. With the new rules in the VHLM, Vassell may have done some more incredible things but Walker's brilliance is not something to overshadow. Nicolas Fomba has been exploding onto the scene since day one. He currently has 23 wins which is impressive for a young net minder. His .929 save percentage is one of the best in the minor leagues and he is looking to become a huge playoff performer as well. Mexico City needs to finish strong so they can set themselves up for a great postseason run. Without a strong postseason run this is a good team that would have fallen short.
  11. 1. I think we can hold. We have a strong team that gets better every week and that helps our chances. 2. I think I could have a chance at it if I work my ass off more, but most likely not haha 3. I think our team can go 20-8-8 through the rest of our games 4. Because we are in Mexico City and it's so damn hot to play hockey there 5. Im looking forward to family and turkey. Love myself some turkey dinner 6. Ideal location is the Maldives as they are so beautiful!

  14. Lewis Dawson is a staple in the Mexico City lineup at this stage, but his impact has been slowly declining. Dawson is one of the worst players offensively on the team and is wondering if he is in the right position to succeed. That being, he wonders if he is even worth putting on the top two lines considering his lack of offensive impact. Dawson started out slowly but did contribute a little in the early parts of the season. Now it seems the young rookie has been quiet and it might take some extra coaching to help him out. Dawson has been a steady force in his own end and has been trying to improve his face-off percentage with some extra assistance in practice. Mexico City relies on their centres to drive the play but to also provide some stability on the back end. The Kings are very talented in many areas of the ice but they still got a lot of hope for their renters to pick up the pace. Dawson is hoping to turn things around here shortly.
