  5. Davey Jones On Pace For Career? Davey Jones believes that he is on pace for his goals that he has set up for his career. He has been playing very great for his first season in the VHL and he hopes that his success will continue throughout the rest of the season. He has been slacking recently and wants to improve his game so he decided that he wanted to have a practice session with Kameron Taylor. He called him up and asked him if he was busy and if he had time to come help him learn how to be better. They set up a practice session for the weekend and that they would go over some drills that Kameron was taught as a player. Davey just wants to learn how to become a better player and he wants to help his teammates win more games so that they can make the playoffs. He is a known winner and he is hoping that his success as being a winner carries over to the pros. If he can even make the smallest help for the team, he knows that he will serve his whole purpose of his career. The stats are something that he wants to come along with his game but being a winner and a great team player is a better feeling than all the personal accomplishments. Cologne isn't really known for being winners but they very soon will know the feeling and it is a great feeling indeed. Scoring has been Davey's main focus for sure but his assists are catching up to him. He knows that it's not all about stats and that he is mainly here to help this club become winners. It's a tradition that is set in Cologne and Davey is hoping that he can be the missing piece for the team and that he can be a difference maker. Fresh legs is what Davey is thought to be and hope is what he is bringing to the table. Hope that he can help a struggling franchise become something different. The playoffs aren't really the home for the Express but it is somewhere that the team hopes to be for quite a few years and it all begins with everyone on the team helping to make a difference. Of course there are two of the teams in the conference that are rebuilding which should make it easier but for the Express to really make some noise, Davey is going to have to step up and make changes in his game. He has to become more involved and he has to start becoming more concentrated on his game. If he can also take more efficient shots, he will also be able to help this team. He also needs to work on improving in the face off circle as it hasn't been his best part of his game but he used to pride himself on winning in the circle in the minors. There are many things that Davey needs to work on, but he knows that he has to make haste of them. If Cologne can just make they playoffs, I am pretty sure everyone on the team will know how it feels and want to help get back there again next year.

  15. Davey Plays First Week Davey Jones has started off his VHL career with not so hot of a start. Through his first 6 games he has managed to get just 4 points. All of those points are assists and he hasn't been so hot in the face-off circle as well. When Davey was in the VHLM, he was averaging about 60% in the face-off circle and now he is averaging just over 50%. He needs to continue practicing harder and he will hopefully be set up for a great rookie season. He is hoping to compete for the rookie of the year award and he wants to be able to take the award with ease. It will require a lot of work but he is determined to get it done. I am going to go though a short recap of all of the games that he has been featured in. Game 1: Davey got his first chance to play and it was against the Riga Reign. Davey went 20/33 in the face-off circle which equates to 60%. He also got 3 assists during the game which was the highlight of his career. Topping 3 points in his rookie game is a huge accomplishment in his long quest for his career. Just last week he announced his goals and what he wants out of his career. 400 career assists was something that he has listed and he already got 3 of those in just one game. Davey also blocked a shot during that game which is pretty decent for a forward as they are mainly known for defensemen. Game 2: This game is when Davey faced off against the Helsinki Titans. This was a terrible game for Davey as he only had 36% in the face-off circle and he also didn't score any points. He took 7 shots and he couldn't seem to find the back of the net. He also didn't get any points for any assists and it just seemed to be an off game for Davey. He is sure that he will rebound in his next game and for sure he should be able to help his teammates win as this game was the first loss of the season for the Express. Game 3: Now Davey didn't score any points in this game but he did fair better in the face-off circle. He notched almost 60% again here and it was something that he was very proud of. He did take 6 shots during the game and didn't find the back of the net for the 2nd straight game. However the Express went on to defeat the Seattle Bears by a score of 4-2. Game 4: For the 4th straight game Davey couldn't find the back of the net. Davey only took 5 shots during the game but he also did very well in the face-off circle during this game as well. Davey fought hard and he tried really well to help his teammates win this game but they ended up losing this game 3-2. Game 5: It just seems like Davey can't catch a break. For the 5th straight game Davey didn't find the back of the net. He couldn't even get any assists in during the game either. The Express would end up shutting out the Seattle Bears as the score was 1-0. Game 6: This time Davey would notch an assist during this game. He is very proud that he finally got his 4th point during the season and he already has 4 of the 400 career assists that he wants to get. The Express would go on to win this game 2-1 and it would give the Express their 4th win on the season and they also have 2 losses as well.
