1. If you had a personal "goal song," what would it be? Somewhere over the rainbow - Judy Garland 2. Based on recent rebuilds and expansions, the future in Davos looks bright. Malmo took three seasons to be good, Seattle took two, Moscow took four, and most recent expansions DC and Prague are now good in their third season of existence. Let's take S69 as the "start" of the current rebuild, and call this the third season. Can we pull a Moscow and be a good team next season, or will it take longer than that? Yes, I think things will turn around (they have to), just will I be here much longer? 3. You can wipe any one VHL team out of existence, for any reason. Who do you pick and why? Davos - Too close to sounding like Davros (I always think 'exterminate' when I say Davos in my head 4. What's your favorite sport outside of hockey? Do you have any favorite teams in that sport? Soccer and no. It's too boring to watch/I'm too analytical when I watch it, I just play it. I also like baseball (listening more than watching) and the CFL. 5. It's recreate time and you're back in the VHLM. Who do you sign with? Whoever wants me. I just want to play. Plus I have a good history in the VHLM 6. Last week I asked you how life has changed for you during this whole quarantine thing, and I'm happy to hear you're all handling it well. This week I'm asking if anything has changed for you for the better. Do you find yourself with more free time? Are you keeping life fun? Have you picked up any hobbies or projects? Well maybe a bit more free time, my wife is back doing the distance learning thing so I get more of the evenings to myself (we do try to hang out and watch some tv afterwards, but the schools are just starting up so she wants to get a good start). We are just as busy as ever, with the nicer weather we are out in the yard more (makes it so much easier to get the boys to sleep when they have been outside all day). I am missing games night and I don't get to listen to as much podcasts as I was before.

1. TIME TRAVEL NOISES. You are yourself, 5 years before you joined the league. Today's you suddenly appears, tells you about the VHL, and asks you to sign up. Are you interested, and do you do it? Yes. 2. New York is NOT off to a good start! What can we do to make it worse? Why are we worried about others? Why not trying to make our start better? 3. Who on our team is most likely to show up to a game drunk? Gustav 4. The team holds a cookout for charity. What do you make? Punch and Pie. More people will come if there is punch and pie. 5. Our #1 goaltender and returning starter Samuel Ross has somewhat struggled, while our #2 guy Pekka Pouta has put up decent numbers, all things considered. Who do we trust most to take down New York in this coming run of sims? Why don't we look at who can help right the ship? Perhaps Pekka needs to take a run and Ross needs to know that the job isn't just his. 6. How are you, in real life, affected by the current situation? Are you doing OK job-wise, time-wise, people-wise, all that stuff? What's changed for you? Job-wise: I took an unpaid leave for this semester (still doing the odd supply work - two days a week), my wife is also a teacher, so we still have work. Time-wise: The days seem to fly by pretty quickly with my two boys keeping us busy. People-wise: I've got my family around me so I'm pretty good. I wasn't that social, but the one thing I do miss is getting together for a games night.

1. You recreate and get drafted into the VHLM! Some idiot GM like @Sonnet or @McWolf drags out the same "what's your pregame ritual" question that you see at least once every season. What do you do to get back at them? I tell them Gustav never asked questions that dumb...are they interested in my playing ability or what I do to get ready? Am I paid for what I do before a game or what I do during a game? Then I tell them to ask me something important. 2. Last season, we played New York seven times, going 5-2-0. What's our record against New York this season? 7-0. We haven't lost to NY this season, so I'll go with that. 3. Going off of that, a trade I made last season which was probably not the greatest one will end up very much in our favor if New York misses the playoffs. Is it likely, in your opinion, that they will? Well why don't we concern ourselves with making the playoffs rather than other teams not making it. We weren't even included in the 'miss the playoffs' poll. The higher ups are either expecting a miracle or have already written us off. 4. Also speaking of New York, last week I traded @Esso2264's Joel Ylonen, before he played a game for us. What happened in the locker room that made management hate him? Nothing. Joel was great! The management just asked his magic 8 ball and listened to it again. 5. What's your pregame ritual? are you interested in my playing ability or what I do to get ready? Who do you pick and what do you make them name their player? Names are sacred. I would never hold someone's naming rights.

Show him the best taverns in town. Some days he may need a place to forget... 2. With the departure of Tony Bolonee, one assistant captain spot will open up this season. Who do you nominate? You really want to know who I think I should be an assistant?? I thought we did a vote already. 3. Do we improve much this season? Should we be trying to improve, or do we try to capitalize on our lotto chances? I think a team that isn't looking to improve is not a team. You can improve by playing your players, trading this year for next year. 4. The team starts spending huge amounts of money on pregame hype. What's your personalized entrance? Bobby Roode's 'Glorious' theme - complete with robe. 5. What do you want the league to know about you this season? Are you coming in with a different goal from last season? Different style? I come in doing what I do all the time, play hard. 6. How should the VHL deal with coronavirus? Does our season get wiped out? Are we talking real life or sim covid19? In real life, go on as long as it's possible for those involved. In sim life - who would simulate something like this while it's going on?

1. Another year, another last-place finish. What do we do to come out of the bottom of the league? As David Price once said, "if you don't like how you played, play harder." That's what we need to do, play harder, play smarter, play with more salt. 2. @Anthony Matthews will come up with a super salty answer to this one. Respond to this by trying to out-salt him. Did you claim this for points? This isn't even a question, it's a challenge that relates to the previous question. The gustav factor has failed this PC. 3. The last individual award won by a Davos player came in S68, when Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen won the Labatte and Finn Davison took home both the Clegane and the Shaw. Who's the next Davos player to win an individual award, and what do they win? Apparently I would win the 'saltiest' player award. 4. What would make you want to play for Davos, if you were a prospect entering the draft? What should we do to look as appealing as possible to the new guys? Now! Offer me money! Power too! Promise me that. Offer me everything I ask for! I want a team that will win, you son of a bitch. (note: I do not think Gustav is a SOB, but I had changed enough of the quote - I still have my father around, albeit not what he used to be) 5. @Proto needs to be punished for insubordination. What do I do to him? Get creative. Have him bunk up with me on the road. The salt will do him good. 6. Let's say the league were to bring back the old VHLM affiliate system--they won't, and we'd all hate it, but let's say they do. Which VHLM team should we pick as our affiliate, and why? I'm not that steeped in the VHLM history. I only know Las Vegas (won cup) and Yukon. @GustavMattias

1. The Grand Poobah has decided what we're doing with the 2nd overall pick. Any guesses? Sell it for toilet paper! 2. What's your opinion of season 1 of the Gustav era? BE HONEST and don't sugarcoat any negatives. It was rough. Two playoff teams in the minors, then playing for Riga, I was blessed. Maybe I didn't get the playing time I should have gotten, but we won. Losing did take the wind out of my sails (4th wall break - that with getting closer to having to retire my player, just hasn't given me much drive to do much in terms of TPE) 3. We'll be losing @Tbeez99 in free agency. I know where he's going, but do you have any guesses or speculations? Right now, anywhere is up. That may change next season or the season after, but as of this moment he's got the right idea. 4. Are you close with any players in the S71 draft class? If so, who? I don't need friends on the team, I need players that can play and want to win. Stop asking us to make your picks for you 5. The team goes on a mission to track down any inactive member and bring them back. Who do we go for? Anthony Matthews 6. With @FrostBeard moving up to take over Malmo, the Houston GM job is opening up. Do you have any interest in applying for the position, and if you don't, do you know of anyone who would have a good shot at it if they applied? No. I still have a couple of years left in my playing career. I want to try for that VHL cup as a player first.

@GustavMattias you mess with the bull you get the horns Brillant! Lets comment on something that isn't the players strong suit. This is what is wrong with the team. A bunch of hockey players acting like children instead if being men and playing the game the way it should be played. Doing what you need to put more pucks in their net then they do to yours.

1. Any plans for the offseason? Going on vacation, partying, or hitting the gym and gearing up for S71? Vacation. Need a break from all this losing. Plus it's not the start of my career, I know how to get ready for a season. 2. You have to challenge one other player in the VHL to a fight. Who is it? Can it be a GM?? 3. The trade deadline has come and gone, and it was very quiet, with nothing happening outside of a swap of 4th-rounders by New York and Vancouver. Was this surprising to you? No, we have sucked this season, who wants players who can't win? 4. Despite playing for the worst team in the league, goaltender Samuel Ross is putting up career numbers. Why? I keep my indoor firepit under Rossy's seat in the locker room. I always like to light it before a game - have a nice burger or sausage before the game. Sometimes I need one between periods. That is where @GustavMattias comes in really handy. The GM may not be able to handle the players this year, but Gustav can BBQ! Perhaps I should have moved my BBQ around the locker room... 5. We'll have a ton of cap space next season. What do we spend it on? Are you looking for a big bonus, or should we try to fill it by grabbing some players? Grab some players, we need to win. It's no fun losing. Players will lose interest if things aren't done (even if it looks like something is being done). 6. Davos gets together to throw Matthew Materazo (@Matt_O) a retirement party. What do you bring that nobody else will? An apology letter. No one wants to end their career on a 'Davos'

1. What do you think about this logo concept made by @Motzaburger? Better? Worse? About the same? What's your opinion about our current logo? New logo? shouldn't the focus be on trying to win a game rather than commissioning a new logo? Sometimes I am amazed we have won this many games with the way the management seems to prioritize. 2. With Davos out of the running, which team would you like to see win the Cup the most this season? Whichever team I'm traded to. Barring that, I have friends in Riga. 3. How do you feel about your performance as an individual player this season? I feel I have been able to show off my skill set, it's just hard when you are on this team doing this poorly to talk about anything good that you are doing. 4. You can take any one member of the league who doesn't currently play for Davos and bring them to our team. Who do you choose? No one. I would not subject anyone to losing like this. It's disheartening. 5. Though we very likely are not expanding anytime soon, @Corco wrote an article about possible expansion team locations. If you could put a team anywhere, where would it be? Didn't we just expand? Why don't we just have enough players to have each team run 3 or 4 lines (and turn on endurance/stamina) 6. The team goes out for a night on the town. Who gets the most hammered? For those that drink, I would say it's an even draw. We all want to find a way to make ourselves forget our losing season in Davos.
