  1. Everyone be like: It's another uneventful day, this one containing a few admissions of flummery, but nothing comes out of it. It's Night 6 time! Day 7 begins around 8:00 Eastern tomorrow. List of those alive (6)
  2. The power is out at Gustav's house, but neither rain nor snow nor (I don't know I'm not a postman) will keep me from my daily rounds. @Mike died from poison last night. He was a JESTER. @BarzalGoat died at the hands of the COVEN LEADER. He was... Night phase will be coming late because I have the same shift again--and I don't expect to be let out early two days in a row. List of those alive (6?
  3. Damn, I remember doing this kind of thing with the Hounds but it was nowhere near as developed. Great work ?
  4. This accurately describes 90% of all VHL riots and there's not much that can be said to convince me otherwise.

  7. Gustav uses the powers of persuasion to get his manager from "hard no" to "ok, that's fine" on leaving work early in 45 seconds flat. He comes home to a quiet thread. Nothing much to say; it's N5 time! Day 6 will be opening around 9-ish. List of those alive (10):
  8. Hatter's last will:
  9. *Late day phase opening noises* It is time for Day 5! You know what that means--more dead people! @Mr_Hatter died today, as was expected, from poison. He was an ESCORT. @Devise is down too--drained by the COVEN LEADER, he was a TRAPPER. Picture Night 5 hypothetically coming around the same time N4 did, because that's what's going to happen. List of those alive (8):
  10. Conflict and s p i c e ! That's the name of the game here on Day 4. We're bringing @bigAL to the stand, a purported investigator. He maintains his identity to the end, but upon dying we find that he was... Day 5 will be opening late as hell tomorrow because I get to sleep in. Will be open by 1 though because I'm also going to work (and as a consequence N5 should come a bit later as well). List of those alive (10):
  11. Tsujimoto be like
  12. I have no idea if these were answered somewhere in this thread or not, but I'll answer the thing I've been pinged about before I read through everything and close out the day phase. You would see both.
  13. The one day I don't say when the next phase is coming is the day I come in late with it...that's called Saturday! Prepare for either a really early or really late day phase tomorrow, depending on what my schedule looks like. Anyway... @ZP16 died from guilt over shooting a Town member--fun fact, out of the seven VIGILANTES we've had starting the game as such (i.e. not Vampire Hunter), only one has managed to kill an evil--and this makes it three townies shot. @osens died last night after a friendly visit from the MAFIA. He was the MAYOR. @omgitshim died from poison. He was a LOOKOUT. Day...what's it, day 4? Yeah, day 4--starts now (and will end a bit after 10 tonight because I may or may not be back on the weekend work schedule). List of those alive (11):
  14. I'm late gosh darn it! Time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it... After @Ricer13 gets called out and claims three different roles within an hour or so of each other, the town decides to take him out. Claiming to be a SERIAL KILLER and attempting to bargain with the town, it turns out that he's right about the Serial Killer bit--but the popular vote says "no deal". It's Night 3! The Coven receive the Necronomicon tonight! Everybody get hype! List of those alive (14):
  15. SKREEEEEEEEEEEE
  16. Eagles' last will because apparently a big box saying "REMEMBER TO POST LAST WILLS" doesn't work on me: ...and hatty's:
  17. An Amnesiac is a role that gets to "remember" any role that's died: https://town-of-salem.fandom.com/wiki/Amnesiac This means that they become that role. We have an Amnesiac in this game who's chosen to remember as Plaguebearer, meaning that they are now a real Plaguebearer.
  18. *Slightly late morning phase noises* The Grand Poobah rolls out of bed and spends some amount of time not doing much before writing this up (so my apologies if you've been here since 9 waiting for it). @chatfan036 died from poison last night. He was a SPY. @jhatty8 also died last night--killed by both a SERIAL KILLER and a VIGILANTE, he was a DOCTOR. Just when the town thinks the morning business has concluded, they hear a bit of coughing. Did someone in Gustav's test pool come back positive for COVID and now he has to quarantine until he's told he's OK? Well, yes (I feel just fine, so don't worry about me). But that's not all I'm getting at here. An AMNESIAC has remembered that they were a PLAGUEBEARER. List of those alive (15): Votes needed today: 8
  19. In the latest installment of Gustav being a Neutral Chaos role of his own... WE'RE LYNCHING BEROCKA! The town does its usual business and we're down a possibly-evil person. @Berocka was the HEX MASTER. Enough talk; let's get to the killings and such. D3 coming around 9 tomorrow. List of those alive (17):
  20. Vote tracker: Berocka - 9 (Eagles, hatty, Devise, sens x3, Hatter, omg, al) Mike - 1 (Ricer) Eagles - 1 (TLO) hatty - 1 (Mike) Votes needed: 10
  21. I came here from a post on Reddit and joined purely because I thought it sounded interesting. I've since stayed because I've found the community as a whole very easy to connect with and relate to, almost like a second set of friends for me. I am on Discord because it's easily the best way to be involved with the community and to become a recognizable figure around the league. I see Discord not as a place for serious or meaningful discussion but as a place to get to know people in casual conversation and as a very helpful resource for newer members, who are usually able to see questions answered within seconds. I will say that I've noticed a fair bit of this on both the forums and Discord, but most of the time it seems to be focused upon government and politics and very rarely does it cross the line into unfair criticism of American people as a whole. I personally believe that moderation has gone too far as even civil discussion of politics is not allowed outside of designated areas (I believe that nothing that is not directly offensive, demeaning, or inappropriate should receive moderator attention), but I'll admit that it is a step in the direction of keeping heated topics away. Personally, I am American and have never felt as if anybody liked me in particular any less for it--but if that happens to be the case with somebody, I consider it their problem more than mine. I suppose I can see the reasoning behind this--the league itself still exists on the forum, after all, so we should be active on the forum. I do not disagree with this, but I feel as though not much will change. In particular, I believe this refers to the fact that the bot which posts game results in most team Discord servers will no longer be doing this starting this coming season to incentivize forum activity. I am very willing to bet that nothing will change--before the bot ever existed, activity in game threads was a big problem. Most of the time, people would only comment for entries in the lottery (a system which has since been removed), and after the lottery changed, threads were no more active than they are now. I believe that this will be an entirely neutral change, as those who wanted to comment before will continue to do so, and those who did not will continue to only look at the results without commenting on them. Use whatever you'd like in your paper, I'm not picky.
  22. There is a guarantee of either a Godfather or a Mafioso at all times.
  23. Honestly I'm not sure where this comes from. What I was talking about was assuming everyone does go with the meta--sure, a 500-TPA build can be decent, and it's achievable by a welfare player, but it will take a while for them to get to that point and even when they do there's no guarantee that it will be good. Add on to that the fact that that's the best some people's builds will ever get and I don't see a problem. There is some overlap when it comes to people who stay on top of the smaller tasks being able to build up to 750 TPA or so, which is certainly good enough to do well (Mikko Aaltonen and Tzuyu are probably the best welfare players in recent memory, but Aaltonen was a max earner before the draft and they both kept up with the smaller tasks very well, something which certainly constitutes "activity" in my book). Sure, it's possible to be a top player without doing a media spot. I get that. But max earners represent the vast majority of top players (regardless of who is and isn't donating, imo) as the top tier is really only barely achievable (and you'd need some degree of luck to get there) for someone who isn't. It doesn't matter what the meta build is, this is where I believe the league currently is build-wise and I feel like it's a decent balance. Sure, and I'm sure you'd agree based on everything that's been said here that a lower-TPE, more enthusiastic, more involved member should be prioritized over a super-casual welfare earner in the minors. But doing this would lead to there being more super-casual welfare members in the minors, taking up playing time and roster space and making it much less possible for new members to get to top-level status in the minors as they've now got half a roster of 200-TPE+ "technically active" players above them who have been technically active on the roster for 2-3 seasons now. With the goal of the VHLM being retention, wouldn't this be hurtful to that? No GM is going to move the casual members down to the junior team (and sure, one could attempt to make rules and such, but where do we draw the line for activity, and aren't people immediately going to try to dodge them anyway?) and the fact that there will be more of them just makes the ladder that much harder to climb. "Catching up" doesn't really happen in the VHLM when the casual people are near the cap. Contrast that with the VHL--look at the Davos roster; Tsujimoto is ahead of or close to a couple casual members despite being 2-3 seasons back.
  24. *Gustav noises* We kick off D2 by killing off @Doomsday! It looks like the town's SERIAL KILLER isn't a fan of Wawa...anyway, Doom was a CONSIGLIERE. That's not all that happened last night, though--Team America: World Police is being projected onto the side of city hall...with the projector propped up on the body of @JigglyGumballs. Meeting his demise via VETERAN, Jiggly was a PLAGUEBEARER. Let the D2 festivities begin! List of those alive (18):
