I can't even imagine how #1 must feel. This is a great read and I'm glad to hear you're doing well. There's been a ton of positivity around the league lately and it really makes me feel happy to be here. Proud of everyone who's contributed to it!

Thank you for choosing to be open with us all here! I have a lot of respect for you for making this post. This league is a place which absolutely needs to be a safe space for this type of thing--if we'd turn away anyone for any reason beyond their control, we cannot in good conscience call ourselves a welcoming and inclusive community. This applies to everything--race, gender, sexuality, age, you name it. Best of wishes to you and a ton of respect. I hope things are going well for you and I hope you know we're here to help and listen if you need it.

Davos is cool. I can't say it's as active as the ones I ran in Mississauga (though I have no idea how any VHL team would match that), but we've got nice people and it's certainly on the more-active side as far as VHL-level Discords go. I'm not in every one and don't pay close attention to most that I am in, so can't really make a fair comparison between ours and others. It is a fun place, though--certainly not somewhere where your team's Discord activity goes to die after the draft.

It's the holiday season, and the VHL is kicking off its second-ever holiday fundraiser, to benefit food banks in the US and Canada! Many of the prizes involved are being kept secret--what do you think will be given away? 3. In a strange turn of events, the past week of sims have actually been fairly decent. Is there anything in particular that you think might have given us an edge? 4. Do you usually do anything around the holidays? Do you anticipate your plans changing at all this year? 5. I obviously can't speak for the blues on this but I'd be willing to bet this was what did it. It's important to note that the member in question was already busted for plagiarism twice before though. Word on the street is that Bek is still trying to avenge his S1 experience I mean, what?

Question 2 was unusable in its original form so I understand why its wording (and answer) had to be changed...but for a second I thought @Victor was pulling a sneaky on me and trying to get me to just go back to the answer I sent him and put that in.

Oh hey this is great! I've had a "best player from every draft class" article half-done for like a year now, so please don't think I'm stealing your ideas when (if) I ever get around to finishing it. Looking forward to reading this one.

I mean to me the issue isn't quality so much as it is "is it clear that, if it's a bad graphic, this person is learning from it and can be expected to at the very least get to the point where they're making something presentable if they're at it long enough". People SHOULD be encouraged to get into making graphics and if that means some legitimately awful stuff gets approved at the start, then that's what that means. If they continue to put out legitimately awful stuff, then yeah, I'd agree with you. Some updater should eventually end up linking a resource thread and saying "I'm not going to continue approving these unless you can step it up". But if it's just a question of "starting to learn the software" it's not like we shouldn't be more lenient and accepting. Not everyone has to be a sig god--in my own personal experience, it probably took a year between my first graphics and me making anything that I'd actually put in my sig. I certainly wasn't doing them every week but I was taking steps forward--and if someone told me after my first few awful ones that I wasn't good enough to get approved for 6, I'd probably just give it up entirely.

...I like meatloaf. Seriously though. 30 seconds to add a name and 15 seconds to add a filter constitutes "good effort"? Here's HALF of the last sig I made. ...which took me an hour and doesn't even look all that good. Granted, people get away with low effort. It happens. But 45 seconds is not "good effort", you don't learn anything from it, it's not even effort in the first place. Plus you didn't even make the graphic! Even searching "[player name] PNG", slapping that over some premade background, and writing said player name in Comic Sans over their face is a) more effort than what you did, and b) probably claimable for at least the first few times you do it until someone notices you're not trying to improve. I'm not even going to touch on the plagiarism bit or your conduct in this thread, because frankly those are cans of worms of their own which have already been opened and which I have zero interest in shaking around. APPLY YOURSELF and both you and the league will be better for it.
