Actually, along the same lines...jambalaya. There's nothing that a big bowl of rice, three kinds of meat, vegetables, and hot sauce can't fix, and it's deceptively easy as well. I'm actually starting to appreciate Halloween a lot more lately. I grew up allergic to nuts, so it was never fun for me...but I think it's really nice that people will decide to do something nice for kids they don't even know and that it's the rare occasion that you can just walk up to your neighbors and say hi without it being weird. It's not some buttoned-up, please-don't-talk-about-politics family dinner, either, and depending on your age group you can find a way to hang out that you actually like. I don't know if I have a single "favorite" but it's surprisingly up there. I went through some time where I'd use the forum more or less as my emotional outlet. I'd make these long-winded posts where I just talked about feelings and how it's OK to take some time to de-stress and things along those lines. And I know some people appreciated reading it, but I'm sure some people also thought I was being dramatic. Looking back on it, I did that quite a bit during the couple years of my life where I had no friends at school and mostly just went out, came home, and didn't have anyone to talk to. So I don't wish I never wrote about that sort of thing on the forum, I just wish that I found a better way to deal with where I was in life than making random sim league strangers read about it. 1. It's time for breakfast! For some of us, anyway. For others, well... @Lemorse7 is gone after being around to see me drop the sunrise GIF in Discord. He was a TRACKER who was shot by a VIGILANTE. Furthermore, @rory the VIGILANTE, drained by the COVEN LEADER (did you know the Coven got the Necronomicon last night? I did), is our second Town member down today. Last will (yes, I actually remembered!): And, finally, we've got @Advantage dead, who was taken out by a JUGGERNAUT. I'm not sure why six was afraid of seven, but I know that there are nine votes on @vincentlg2007 today. And that's enough. With a shady TI claim, Salem picks up on a thing or two, and the town has lynched a VAMPIRE. Wawa closes for the night, and (hopefully) you don't find yourself there tomorrow. As much trash as was slung Spartan's way, I really appreciate that he brought it up (yes, I don't take credit for the idea of bringing it back). Gustav goes to Sheetz last night and feels it this morning. One needs to remember that "whole sub" and "half sub" don't mean the same thing as they might at Subway. With apologies for sleeping a lot: @Alex was found as dead as they get--and guess what, he's the POTION MASTER, returning to the scene of the previous night's events in Wawa's walk-in beer fridge. Waiting for him there, evidently, was a JUGGERNAUT. Following some VAMPIRE-related discourse yesterday, too, the town finds its first one: @Ricer13, outside the entrance to Salem's very own highly conspicuous-looking cave, with a stake through his heart. Yep, Salem has a VAMPIRE HUNTER as well. I'll be home tonight for the live stream of the Commissioners Cup sims at 8 and I hope to see you there! What is up, VHLM! It's generally a seasonal occurrence that we hire new people, and this season is no exception. We first learned that @nurx planned to leave us earlier this season--we respect his decision and we'd like to thank him, as one of our first hires, for the time that he spent making Miami a great place to play hockey. In addition, we have done our best to establish contact over the past few weeks with @Bulduray_1, who's been a GM longer than we've been commissioners. It's something that I hope we never have to do, but we've reached the unfortunate conclusion that Saskatoon will require a new GM moving forward. We'd also like to thank Bulduray for his work with the Wild and wish him all the best both on and off the Internet. So, with two leaving, we've got to announce two arriving! The closest to me is in Kentucky Which is actually closer than the closest Wawa I think. But Ohio is (allegedly) getting Wawa in 2025 so hopefully I'll be able to actually make it someday!

It's also why you lock up Wawa when you close. Ironically, ToS2 has a "Tavern Keeper" role that gets people drunk and stops them from doing their actions

I would like the league to know that if Gustav wins, I’ve had fun reviving this great tradition, and if Spartan wins, the tournament was rigged against me from the start as a smear campaign against my character.

I didn't do anything; all credit goes to you and the team! I'm so happy that I finally get to see a London win and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving group of people. As a side note, this is the first time that any team with my name attached to it in any capacity has won a championship in the VHL. So, even though it's only on a small, small technicality...it is technically my first Cup! So many thanks for that.

Yep, my best advice is to get your role and learn EVERYTHING about it (I link the TOS Wiki in the top post and it has a page for every role; it’s brilliant). Once you do that, pay attention to the game thread. When someone says they’re one role, read about that one. Figure out what they’re supposedly up to. You’ll see people believing (or not believing) those claims eventually; try to understand why. if you’re in an evil faction (or you’re a Medium) and can talk to other players at night, that can be a very helpful resource. I’ll also answer questions about game mechanics as well—I won’t answer “what should I do” because that should be your choice but anything along the lines of “how does this role work” is totally fair.

Then I guess it's exactly the same player pool, just without the 150 TPA cap. Goes to show how independent JST is from commie business. Hopefully the overwhelming desire to play for TEAM GUSTAV outweighs any redundancy we've got.

The ToS #26 sign-up thread starts with "for the first time in 5 months..." and guess how much time it's been since then. For the first time in 5 months, yet again... *Gustav noises* (I promise I'll be more consistent moving forward) WELCOME TO TOWN OF SALEM...NUMBER TWENTY-SEVEN? It's nuts to think we've come this far and some of you still haven't gotten your role requests. I swear I actually do randomize it and I don't hate you. This game serves a few purposes. First, it's been a while, and that in and of itself 100% justifies it. Second...I'm looking at a rough go at running what may be the first-ever ToS2 forum game, anywhere, ever (unless @omgitshim knows about some nerd forum somewhere), and I'm hoping some of you might like some practice in a more familiar environment. That's because I know I do, as it's now been 5 months since I ran one game and almost a year since I ran two. But if this goes well, don't let me forget I said this! All I need to figure out are the minor details. Also, as a bit of a life update--I am entirely done, for the rest of my life, with classwork that matters. Yes, I'm still a grad student (and will be for a long time), but after the first year I'm just a highly underpaid scientist. So...I should have more time on my hands now! No more stressing about getting homework done, and my group generally keeps normal-ish work hours. Being that what it is, I do promise to be more annoy-able about ToS for as long as I'm bored and single.
