1. After one long offseason, season 65 has finally started. What do you think of your team's performance in these first couple of sims? As this is my first season, and as a rookie, I don't really know what to say. Based on my knowledge of what I've seen so far I'd say Halifax is doing REALLY well! The team is a great group of guys and they all preform well together. Now being on a 3 game win streak I feel pretty confident with this team! 2. How is the ambiance in your locker room after these sims? Oh it's great. Everyone seems to enjoy each others presence and we all help each other if someone needs answers. 3. Which team do you like playing against more than others? I believe I've heard there's a rival between Halifax and Vegas so I'm excited to play against them when the schedule has us lined up. 4. Season has just started, so the VHL Entry Draft might be hard to predict right now, but in what round do you think you'll be taken? Obviously any round between 1 and 3 but realistically I think I'd be taken maybe 5th or 6th round 5. Besides hockey, obviously, what other sports do you like to play casually or watch? I personally like to play lacrosse. When I was in High school it was one of the only other sports I could play during off season for hockey. Plus the way lacrosse is played is close to the same way hockey is played 6. What's your game day routine? What do you eat before games Game day routines depend on game time. for a typical 7pm game I'll get up, have some breakfast. make my way to the rink for practice. hit the bike machine. put on equipment lace up the skates. eat an apple. start practice. get off ice and drink a protein shake. head home for a nap. get back to the rink for the game around 4:30/5. throw my equipment on. wear a cold soaked towel on my head. and have a double peanut butter and jelly sandwich Thanks for your time Nacho good luck Thanks Rob

Childhood Growing up in the surrounding area of Buffalo NY, Hockey has always been a big part of Nacho’s childhood. With the NHL teams like the Buffalo Sabres right in the city and the rival Toronto Maple Leafs right across the pond it’s no wonder this kid has grown to love the sport. He grew up with divorced parents but his mom and dad got along. He’d spend some days with dad and some days with mom. Nacho grew up as an only child and to this day still has no siblings. As a kid Nacho would go to the games, fascinated by how fast the players skate and move the puck. The sound of the skates gliding on the ice. While other kids were saying “I want to be a police officer” or “I want to be a doctor”. Nacho set off to have one of the best careers of all time. Playing the Sport Nacho started playing hockey at the young age of 10. He started skating long before then but it took him a while to get used to playing the game on ice. Because of that difficulty he started in floor hockey. Playing at a community roller rink with a total of 8 teams each with their respective color. As he played his first year in the league noticed something. Something was different about the team in the red jerseys. They had all the good players. Oddly enough the coach for the red team was the owner of the league. Nacho being on the white team, the team where all the new rookies go, felt he had to prove himself and his teammates that they were not going to stand for that. Through that first season he became one of the top point scorers in the league which was unheard of from the white team let alone a rookie center. Eventually Nacho lead his team onto the finals but unfortunately losing in game 5 against the red team. Next season he signed up he was assigned to play for the red team. After some thought, Nacho decided against playing for a team he felt was unfair to the rest of the league. Not only that but he decided it was time to take his skills to the next level and start playing on the frozen water...ice hockey. Schooling Living life to the fullest, Nacho grew up in the suburbs and went to public school.Nacho didn’t really fit in with a certain crowd at school. Nor did he really want to. He would hang out with the 5 best friends he had during school hours. While he struggled in school, not always getting the greatest of grades. He always couldn’t wait to get out and go to practice for the outside school ice hockey league. Once high school rolled around, being the new kid in the big high school, he kept to himself. At the beginning of the year, being it September, hockey tryouts were happening soon and Nacho figured why not try it and see if he makes the team. Obviously it is unheard of for a freshman to go and tryout for a sport in their first year of high school unless they’re well a well known athlete from birth. Nacho tried out for the team. When he got to tryouts it was filled with juniors and seniors, not a freshman in sight. That being said anyone and everyone gave him weird looks and glances from across the locker room. Once the guys hit the ice it was clear to Nacho why no freshman show up for tryouts. The coach didn’t even bother letting Nacho’s blades even touch the ice. He thought maybe this just wasn’t for him. Maybe he should just stick with the out of school league he’s in now and settle for that. As time went on and continued to play for the league, he grew older and climbed the ladder of grades in high school. Nacho finally become a senior and thought to himself “I should probably do something to send myself out with a bang as a senior this year” why not try again and make the hockey team. He figured since he’s far from being a freshman maybe he’ll be given a shot at the team. As he set out for tryouts he was given the opportunity to actually skate! And boy could this kid skate! The coach seen this and Nacho soon became part of the varsity hockey team. Graduating high school with sub-par grades didn’t really matter to Nacho. What mattered to him was that the team went to states and he was captain of that team. Although they didn’t make it past that, that was one of his more prouder moments of his life. More than graduating. As graduation was upon him Nacho was receiving scholarships in the mail...Princeton was one of them. He was offered a scholarship to one of the best schools in the country. Not because of what a sub par student he was but because of the skill he brought to his favorite sport. Nacho went off to accept the offer and start his college career at Princeton. After being accepted into Princeton, not even a full year passed and scouts from the VHL and VHLM were eyeing him up. At the young age of 18 Nacho was drafted into the VHLM by the Halifax 21st. Residing now in Halifax, he’ll never forget where he came from. Where he grew up. Where he became the person who he is today. Only being 18 there isn’t much to dwell on this kid besides his hockey career but I feel as time goes on he will be someone everyone talks about. Not only in the realm of hockey but through everything. Nacho is a well rounded guy. He has nothing but nice, positive things to say about everyone he meets and knows. He’s also got the no quit attitude everyone loves. Keep your eyes peeled and ready for him (1,008 word count) I know I'm not the greatest at creating articles or stories but I feel this is one of my best lol

Hello VHL Community, I'm Nacho (Nacci25) and I'm a new rookie, a new guy in general to the VHL. I do a lot of graphic designing as a hobby and at the same time find myself wanting to do things for tpe on the go. I'll be for example at the store or a Tim Hortons waiting in line and want to check up on stats or looking to see if my tpe claim was approved. Yes I can just go to my web browsing app and go to the website but then I thought how convenient it would be to have an app to quickly and easily browse forums and my player profile. Have notifications pushed to my lock screen when my teams game stats are in or a reminder I have TPE to apply. Well...here is what I propose. The VHL app! I have a couple mock up concept art I made up. I'll post them attached to this post and as I continue to make more I will comment them here. I will take ALL FEEDBACK. Good or bad. constructive or positive! Let me know what you guys think. P.S I don't know how many people this will reach or who exactly it reaches but I hope it reaches many! *This is a mock-up of what could be the login page*

Season 65 is now well underway for the Halifax 21st. Playing 5 games so far and having 3 wins and 2 losses it seems to be going quite well for them. I myself haven’t found the back of the net yet since Pre-Season but I put up 2 assists for 2 points. Trying to make my player better every week, training everyday. Hopefully going to be able to produce and start scoring goals for this team. This being my first ever season I feel I’m on track for a great VHLM season. Really hoping to make it into the VHL next season, make it big. But right now my focus is train, make plays, and score some goals. I’m really excited to play for this team. Great group of guys here and I feel like I fit right in as a player. Everyone has been very helpful to teach me their ways and gaining as much knowledge of this league as possible. I want to be the best I can be! I’m going for a 20-25+ point rookie season. And the only way that’ll happen is if I’m consistent and motivated enough to get there. And I am. I’m ready and excited for the rest of this season. Still figuring things out, working out the kinks. But eventually I’ll get there and be “Fully Loaded Nacho”. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store! (239 Word Count)

1. As the season opener approaches, what will you be doing to prepare and get ready for the game to make sure that you start the season off right? As I'm answering these questions a little late, I plan on hitting the gym a little bit. Relaxing and getting to know my teammates a little more and just practice, practice, practice! 2. Who do you think will be Halifax's most valuable player this season? For sure its gotta be Dimitri Volosenkov. As of now he has the most tpe and his stats and the way he plays is impeccable 3. How many points do you hope to finish with? In my first year ever in the VHLM/VHL I would like to at least end the season with 20-30 points. Even to me as a rookie player that seems a little to high haha! 4. Where do you think Halifax will finish among the standings this season? We'll I think we all hope to be at least a contender for the cup this season...Halifax has some pretty great talent on this team and think as we work together we can get the job done 5. What is your favourite thing about the VHL so far? I feel like my favorite thing so far is the way you earn your TPE. The fact that you can do any of the various things and there's a possibility to do as much as you want is cool! Not only that but it shows the true potential and shows who's really willing to win it all! 6. What's the best article you've read on the site in your time here? I may be bias but it HAS to be the article by one of my mates Plate...it was a great article, great read, and a well written piece!

Good evening guys, I just wanted to address you all as a team! Just wanted to say it's great to be here and be apart of the team. I'll do the best I can in every way possible. I'm ready and capable to work hard and play the best. This is my first ever season in the VHLM so if you don't really hear from me, don't think anything bad. I'm just getting use to all of this and how it all works. I'll pop in once and a while. For now I'll try to be as converse as possible with you guys and eventually be there 24/7. Right now I'm doing everything I can to gain MAX TPE each week. I want to help this team win the cup, what ever it takes to get there, I'm in it with all of you! I hope none of you think I'm a bust or anything of that nature, I believe I'm the complete opposite and I'm ready to prove that. I'll see you all on the ice for practice and can't wait for the season to kick off! LETS GET IT BOYS! -Nacho (190 words)

1. With the draft being recently how do you feel Halifax made out in comparison to the other teams and does this put us in a good enough spot to compete in your opinion? Being this season my first season in the VHLM I don’t really know how things work around the organization but after almost a week or so with the AGM assisting me and hearing other teammates in the Locker-room I feel like the attitude is super positive. Every member of this team from the GM all the way down to the rookie draftee is putting in maximum effort for this year. This year's draftees are definitely motivated to the max 2. McWolf and I are really trying to create a positive atmosphere with our private discord locker-room? Have you gotten a chance to try it out yet and if so, what do you think of it and is there anything you would suggest to us for a more positive user-friendly experience? Haven’t really spoken up in the team discord as of lately. Just trying to feel it out being the new guy. Besides that everyone in the Discord has a positive vibe and very supportive of the team and answers any questions that need answers. I feel like I’ll fit right in with the team here in Halifax! 3. Who is your bestie on the team so far? For me I feel as one of the new guys on the team I don’t really know anyone as close as others do. I’m sure down the road into the season I’ll find my “go to” guy on the team, someone I can bounce ideas off of and they can do they same for me! Just can’t wait to get started here! 4. Captains will be chosen at the end of the week. If you were in charge of picking them, who would be your choices? Like I said before, I’m new to the team and still getting to know my mates. I plan to get to know everyone more when I’m on and off the ice. Whoever becomes Captain I’m sure will get the job done and have the leadership and respect every Captain comes with! 5. What are your goals for your player this season? Well I guess to just progress and advance my skills and ability to make plays. I feel like my potential has yet to shine. And with the help of my squad mates and the atmosphere of the team and management, that will really help to prove myself! 6. What do you have to offer as a player, or in other words, how do you feel you can help Halifax going forward? As a new player to this team, the first few weeks I feel I’ll try and figure out what the team and the players have to offer. From there I know I’ll become a great asset, or at least try to be one. From being a team player to always moving the puck into the offensive zone. I also feel as being one of the more active players working to train and enhance my skills, those skills will come in handy later in the season. All in all I’m just excited to be a part in this team and this great franchise

Name: Nacho Age: 18 Birthplace: Buffalo NY Height: 6'3" Weight: 187 Lbs Position: Center Shoots: Left Nacho..the rookie with no last name grew up in the blue collared city of Buffalo NY. Growing up with an NHL team in the city and being so close to Canada you'd think every kid from this city would be a hockey player. But only the toughest, skilled, motivated make it through the cut. And fortunately for Nacho he is one of those kids. He really made a name for himself being a "Junior Sabre" as a kid. eventually gaining the opportunity with a scholarship to Princeton started playing college hockey. Now being drafted 43rd overall by the Halifax 21st, he's one step closer to every hockey players dream. Strengths Puck Handling: The way this kid can move the puck and be able to fend of defenders in the attacking zone is incredible. With this strength, it allows him to be able to make moves and make plays accordingly to his other teammates. Scoring: Is there any other way in saying that this kid can SCORE! The ability to pick out line of sight and pinpoint accuracy of holes the opposing goal keeper is leaving is insane. If he scores..you'll know. The tendie usually doesn't even know what hit him Defense: Last but not least, defense. It's uncommon for a forward to..you know..play a defensive roll. But in this case Nacho has the ice covered. It's like this kid can play any position! The other team has the puck coming through the neutral zone? "I'll take that"! Weaknesses Fighting: Nacho is more of the skilled "lets shoot the puck" kind of player rather than a "lets drop em". This comes from the winning attitude he has. He feels if there is no need to fight...don't take the 5 minute major when you could be on the ice making plays and scoring goals. Strength: Though this kid for 18 years young is 6'3" and almost 200 pounds, you'd think this would be in the strength column. Just like fighting, Nacho believes the only time aggressiveness should be dealt is if it's dealt upon himself or his mates. Winning is this mans primary goal Stamina: Nacho has always been a great top 6 center but one thing that holds him back is his stamina. Although being on the top lines with other FWD's having better stamina and play time, he tries his hardest to keep up, make plays and get points. Having this issue since he started playing Nacho plans on working on this through the rest of the off-season and throughout training camp week-to-week. Overall Nacho seems like a diamond in the rough. some pros with some cons. cons can always be worked on as well as the pros being maintained. with only a few days before the season starts hopefully he can get these issues fixed if not close to the top standard of the Halifax 21st! Scouts have doubted this kid for a while, being the new comer he is, Nacho feels he will prove all of the doubters wrong and HOPEFULLY help win Halifax's first cup in the history of the franchise! Good luck Nacho, do great things!
