  1. And always choked in the finals
  2. Is there anything that can be improved? Spent alot of time on this sig and I really like it so I'm planning on going over it again and adding more to it.
  3. Beau Buefordsson Position: D Age: 19 Height: 6'3" Weight: 210 lb. Hometown: Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis Strengths Scoring: While Beau is a Defenseman, he often spends more time in the opponents zone than his own. Beaufordsson isn't afraid to skate into the offensive zone with the puck and rifle a shot towards the net, or pass it to one of his teammates and rack up assists. Skating: One thing that sets Buefordsson apart from other defensemen is his Skating ability. He puts on a clinic in avoiding hits and uses his agility to put himself in the right position to make defensive stops and set up an offensive attack. Puck Handling: Something that pairs well with Beau's superb skating is his ability to handle the puck. He is masterful at a keeping the puck on his stick and getting around defenders, and is not often stripped of the puck. He is also adept at using his stick defensively to poke check the puck off of opposing players, intercept passes, and block shots. Beau Buefordsson may be a defenseman, but he is certainly an offensive minded player. His skill with the puck, coupled with his superior skating ability, sets him up to intercept the puck, avoid defenders. and get the puck across the blueline to set his team up for an offensive possession. This, when combined with his effective passing and shooting, will put Buefordsson on the scoreboard night after night. Weaknesses Discipline: Beau is no stranger to the penalty box. While often his puck handling will get him the puck, he has shown trouble in the past with getting too ambitious with his stick, and racking up an unusual number of slashing penalties. This is something Buefordsson has been working on, and it has shown as his penalty minutes have gone down from over a penalty a game to just 70 penalty minutes in 72 games this season, but expect Buefordsson to continue to be called for a high number of slashing penalties for the foreseeable future. Hitting: Buefordsson is far from a physical player; he prefers to show his finesse with skating and puck handling. While his finesse allows him to avoid being on the receiving end of a hit, he is not one to dish out hits either. If you are looking for a physically imposing, hard hitting defenseman that isn't afraid to take the body, you may want to look elsewhere. Experience: Not only is Beau a young player, at age 19, he is also from the Caribbean nation of St. Kitts and Nevis, meaning Buefordsson has had little opportunity to take the ice on his tiny island. He also hasn't had much experience going up against challenging competition; outside of being the captain of the St. Kitts and Nevis national hockey team, Beau hasn't had the experience of being on a team and competing in a league environment for an entire season. Most of Buefordsson's hockey skill comes from skating on his own at a local rink and practicing solo drills. Expect him to take a while to find his groove at first, as this is Beau's first experience in the big leagues.
  4. I'd love to apply for the editor position. I'm pretty good at proofreading and catching little things like syntax and sentence structure that would usually go unnoticed to the reader; I'm also no stranger to giving constructive feedback. I'm pretty active in discord and I'm on the site at least once every day. I would also love to work with @GustavMattias, since we often talk about article ideas in discord.

  8. Looks like no one has applied yet so I'll throw my name in. I'm pretty active even if it's just looking on the site all the time, I could use something to do during that time and I'm very interested in becoming more involved with league.
  9. @Sonnet still deserves gm of the year. Worked his ass off this season and not just on the site.
  10. -Mississagua Jerry Garcia has made news in Mississagua after he became the first General Manager in history of one of the VHLMs newest franchises, the Mississagua Hounds. Just hours after his plane landed in Toronto Pearson International Airport, we were able to sit down with him to talk about his new opportunity. So, when you think of the kind of atmosphere you want to create here in Mississagua, what's your goal? Just chill vibes, man. We wanna, like, just kinda get everyone mellowed out and get a chill vibe going and maybe that'll lead to performance on the ice dude. Um, okay. So Uh, the people in Mississagua have been pretty excited lately about finally getting a team, so given the newfound interest in your team, what kind of community outreach do you thi- Yeah, totally dude. We need to bring these chill vibes out of the locker room and, like, share em with everybody you know what i'm sayin'? Like, not only can we get everyone on the team vibin', but it's like, our mission and everything, to like, use these vibes to really bring enrichment to the lives of others man, you get my drift? Uh, yeeeah sure, so um, both the dispersal and expansion drafts are quickly approaching, and with that said, what's your strategy for each? You just gotta feel it man. Like, we're trying to get onto this higher level of consciousness you know what I mean? And like, when you really feel it you can, like, see the world differently and see what's beyond the obvious. When life comes at you like that you just gotta like, ride along with it and be like, "Right on, man." So, uh, that was a, a bit of a tricky answer but that's alright so, um, next question. So, you've come under fire recently over your "laid back" attitude and how that might affect the team, what do you have to say to the critics? They just need to take a chill pill, man. There comes a time where you gotta like, step back, and you gotta look deep inside yourself and ask, " What am I doing, like, what is my purpose man? Is my time here on this beautiful planet in this, like, vast and mysterious universe just being used to bring down my fellow man? Or is my purpose, like, to hold others up and, like, spread the love, you know?" These haters man, they just like, aren't on that higher plane of consciousness. Yeah, I see, so, um. What does one have to do to get on the "higher level of consciousness" as you put it. It's different strokes for different folks my dude. Everyone has their path to get there you know what I mean? Like, you just gotta go on that journey yourself and like, find that path that's right for you. And when you find the path, trust me, brother, the path will find you. Well there you have it, Mississagua, Your new and very... interesting General Manager. 507 words; claiming for week ending 4/14
  11. Well Minnesota is running three lines and two defensive pairs and Yukon is running two lines, while Houston is running three lines and three pairs. I get what you're saying, but I think Houston is far from being the worst offender of this.
  12. I get that sths can be random and favor underdogs but we're actually a better team than Halifax.
  13. You already know I want to apply. As you've seen in the Houston locker room all season I have been extremely active and done my best to keep others active as well. I definitely have the free time to do this and if I'm hired I will make sure this team is my absolute number one priority on this site. I understand if you want to go with someone more experienced that can show you the ropes and help with sths but I'm a fast learner and I guarantee you won't find anyone as dedicated. Either way I'm super happy for you and excited that you got the GM job because you really deserve it.
