  3. @BOOM I think you can make your picks if you want. It’s been 12 hours between picks.
  4. That team will realize they have to get better at defense.

  7. Being drafted to a new team is two things: scary, and exciting. Rhys Chism joined the Houston Bulls last season after entering the league too late to be drafted, and while he got off to a slow start he really started to bloom late in the season, finishing with 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in 72 games played for the surprisingly good Houston Bulls in their first ever season of existence. Enter the Philadelphia Reapers (who tried to sign him along with Houston before last season). Another expansion team but with much different fortunes than the Bulls last season. Philly took the approach of not being a contender last season, but to instead build for the future. Acquiring multiple picks, GM @BladeMaiden, AGM @Jubo07, and the Reapers entered the draft looking to completely steal it from everyone, which on paper they seem to have done. At 19 overall the Reapers selected Rhys Chism. “I feel like they’ve had their eye on me since I entered the league. They’ve consistently shown interest in me, and I’m grateful to be with a team who wants me.” said Chism, “the rest of the league however, I think they really screwed up by passing on me. This season you’ll see what I’m capable of. Chains are off. We want the cup.” Chism is looking to build from a solid rookie campaign and cement his legacy in the VHLM before moving up to the VHL with Helsinki next season. As for the Reapers, expectations are high after an initial season where they only had 11 wins. They are one of the favorites to contend for the cup this season, and the locker room (Rhys Chism in particular) are very confident. Chism has set a goal of playing at a point per game pace for the season. “Point per game at the absolute minimum. That’s my personal goal. I feel like my game at this point is at another level than it was last season. Last year I had to get used to the league, now I’m ready to really get out there and play my game. But the ultimate goal is winning the cup with my guys.” Everyone in the locker room seems to be on the same page and getting along great as well. Rhys had this to say on the subject. “Going to a new team is tough. You know at first I didn’t know what to expect, and I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy the locker room here in Philly after how incredible Houston’s was last season. But I gotta tell ya, the locker room here is pretty on par with how Houston’s was last season. Everyone gets on real well, and everyone is on the same page. It’s an incredible group of people. I’m happy to be here.” There’s only one thing on Chism and the rest of the Reapers locker room’s minds at this point. “We want to get started. We want to be on that ice, we want to win, we just want to get out there, we’re sick of waiting. We know we can win it all, we’re a talented group. I’m ready to show everyone what they passed up on. This is gonna be a fun season. The Reapers are coming for ya.” One thing is for sure, this season will be exciting as the Reapers look to stake their claim atop the league after finishing at the bottom last season. Good luck to all.

  9. 1-The VHL Draft has happened, were you surprised to see players go to certain teams? Honestly not surprised at all. I’m happy for everyone who was chosen, and I’m glad I was drafted to a team who has a history with me. They know what I’m capable of, and I appreciate them wanting me. 2- We also voted for team captain, what do you think of the way the vote was blind? Would you change that for next season? No, I think the voting process was fine. The team should choose together who the captains are. 4-Who is your new locker room buddy, who are you saving the locker next to you for? I’m getting along with pretty much everyone. It’s a great locker room. Couldn’t tell you one specific person who I’d save the locker next to me for. Everyone is awesome. 5- Why did you pick your jersey number? I just have a thing with the number 7. Somewhat of a slight OCD with it. 6- Do you wish we had a monochromatic color scheme like some of the other teams do? I think our color scheme is solid. It’s different from the rest of the league which is good. 7-Worst topping to put on a pizza? Anchovies. 8- how would you describe your players persona? Laid back, quiet at first, but knows how to have a good time and can be really funny when he breaks out of his shell. 9-Team you want to beat the most this season and why? No one team in particular. I want to beat everyone. Let’s win the cup!
  10. Can’t wait for this season. We’re gonna do great.
  11. 1-Did the draft go as you expected it to? Was surprised that four center’s went before me. I think that was a mistake by the teams picking ahead of Philly that took them. But overall can’t complain too much about going 19th. 2-Most exciting part of the draft for you personally? It was the first draft I was apart of. Having multiple teams message to gauge your interest ahead of draft day and then waiting to find out where you’ll be playing and who really wants you is all very exciting. 3-Who do you think will be our greatest competition? There are a couple obvious choices, but one team to not sleep on is Mississauga. @GustavMattias and @Radcow know what they’re doing. So sooner rather than later I expect Mississauga to be a force in this league. 4-Team that you think will struggle to win games and why. Unless they kick it into serious gear, Yukon. They had no picks, which is unfortunate for them. But I’m sure they’ll build something good in the long run. 5-Were you surprised with Philly's picks? I’m surprised Philly was able to get some of the players they did, including me, but not surprised we did so well with all the picks we had. 6-Who would you have chosen 1st OA? Me. I don’t really know anyone else that well on the team yet, so I’ll say me. But they got me later on.. that’s a steal
  12. First center off the board, eh? I’ll take it ??
  13. As a member of Houston this past season, I can vouch for both of these fine individuals.
