Smashed mirrors. Banged up trash cans. A carpet doused in gasoline and lit on fire. These are some of the things the janitorial crew of the Vancouver Wolves found waiting for them in the visiting locker room after a tough 7 game series with the Calgary Wranglers. The culprit seems to be the Wranglers rookie left wing turned defenceman, Cody Smith, who was seen seething with anger after the tough 2-1 loss in overtime. After the game, Smith, who usually is willing to talk the ears of reporters, refused to say a word, keeping very quiet but there was a look of intensity on his face, as if he was holding something in. However, after somebody leaked that it was Smith to the media yesterday, Smith was more than happy to speak to reporters today. "I did it. So what? I was pissed. We lost to an inferior team, I didn't contribute anything during the whole fucking series, and this the 2nd year in a row they bested us in seven. Sure I wasn't here, but for a young guy to lose his first shot at a Continental Cup like that.... it fucking sucks. The Wolves lucked out and a fucking scrub scored a fluke goal in overtime. I feel really bad for Brick Wahl (@BladeMaiden), who played his ass off all series and my boy Oleksiy Revchenko (@AndrewWarren13), whose hanging them up after this year. They deserve the damage that was done to them and I hope they know that I'll be coming for them next season, weather I stay in Calgary or end up getting claimed by somebody in this expansion draft." When one of the reporters asked Smith why he felt Calgary wouldn't protect him in said expansion draft, Smith replied: "You think after the way I played that I deserve to be protected? I did jack shit all series long and there was nights I was playing around 30 minutes. I was a fucking pylon out there, couldn't buy a goal, much less an assist.... sure, I was plus player on the ice, but can you really credit that to me? I credit that more to the team than myself. Had I actually shown up on offence, given us a glimmer of hope somehow, then yeah.... I could say I earned it. But with how things played out? Hell no." Smith has also said he will pay for the damages out of his own pocket & that he's open to doing some charity work in Vancouver, saying: "I have nothing against Vancouver as a place nor the fans of the club. I wanted to go up to Hafkey and smash his head in. And I'm not one to drop the gloves..... sure, I'll lay the body and give a guy an occasional cheap shot, but actually get into a scrap and get my face busted? Not my thing nine times outta ten. But Benny boy getting that lucky goal made me wanna go up to him and just sucker punch him instead of a handshake. Give him a good one right to the jaw. He knows that goal was probably the luckiest one of his life and that he'll never score another one on Wahl again if I have anything to say about it." Smith then proceeded to leave the media desk after those final words.

Hey guys.... with the VHL Expansion almost upon us, I wanted to take a creative stab and try to see if I could come up with some unique and flavourful colour schemes for the two new VHL teams. These 4 colour schemes would be unique to these VHL clubs, and I think either one would be fun to see on the ice. I went ahead and used a quik & simplistic template I whipped up in MS Paint for these, mostly just to show off the colours and how they would work. These are just suggestions, and I do not expect them to be used at all, but I am hoping they can inspire some creativity. 1st off, I went with Brown & Yellow for my 1st scheme. The VHL doesn't currently have a team that wears Brown, and I feel it's a underused colour in sports. This also would be great for a team in a prairie province & would evoke farming, most notably wheat.... hence my suggestion of the Winnipeg Wheat name. For the 2nd colour scheme, I went with Navy & Pink, mostly because I feel these two colours contrast really well and it would also allow for a fun name like Flamingos to be used without the uniform being too garish. The MiLB's Penascola Blue Wahoo's use Navy & Pink, and I think seeing it go from a baseball diamond to a hockey rink would be very fitting. The next colour scheme is me taking a rumour from @diamond_ace and using creative liberty. He said that he was thinking of using Purple & Light Blue for his VHL club. I went ahead and decided to see if I could get those two to mesh, ending up with a Plum & Periwinkle scheme that I think really pops. It's almost Winnipeg Jets-y kinda, but also reminds me of what the Sacramento Kings have been doing as of late, using Purple now, but also using Light Blue in alternate to reflect on the teams past. However, I feel these shades of these two colours are unique enough that they don't infringe on either team & I'd love to see this scheme get used. And lastly, I feel the VHL could use a team that is all about Green & Blue.... however, Green & Royal goes too much into Whalers/Canucks territory, and Green & Navy would evoke Malmo too much.... however, other people I was talking with on Discord suggested that a team should wear Teal. In the end, I decided to bring two & two together, going for a Whalers meets Sharks approach... which I think looks fantastic. Teal is one of my favourite colours, and pairing it with a bright green makes me think of the Pacific Northwest, mostly Seattle. Maybe the NHL won't use it, but maybe the VHL is brave enough to use the "Kraken" name I heard rumbling about? Who knows? Anyways, that's my four colour scheme proposals for the upcoming expansion clubs. I hope you enjoyed taking a look at my ideas and I hope I can inspire people to come up with logos, names & the like for these designs. Part of me feels I should've done a different template for each, or even done a road mock-up, but I wanted to get this in for theme week so I didn't miss out on any TPE. Maybe I could cover that part next week, advancing on this idea if people like it? Let me know, I'm open any C & C (compliments & criticism) as well as feedback from both expansion GM's.

It was Me v Zoids.... both 3 point games, but all 3 for him were goals and he got the W. Kudos to you @HenrikZoiderberg.... shame that we weren't able to pull off the upset.
