  2. Live from Juan Ceson Arena, this is Radio Las Vegas, with your host, Marcus Svedberg! It's just about time to get you some news. The Las Vegas Aces have finished last place in the S89 VHLM Regular Season standings. When looking back to the start of the season to now, it's easy to be discouraged and concerned over the future of the team. As the title of this article suggests, however, there is a silver lining to this that provides the management of Las Vegas with great opportunity. With being placed last at the end of regular season competition, the Aces have guaranteed best odds at first overall in the S90 VHLM Draft. Considering how stacked this draft is looking as well, the Aces have a great opportunity to enter a short rebuild phase to truly propel themselves back into high octane competitiveness once more, and reignite the flame of the Aces dominant performance from S83 to S85. Taking the current roster into consideration, chances are the Aces aims for the draft and offseason will be to obtain strong defensive presence on the blueline, and bolster up their offensive core utilizing the players already existing on the team. It's a tried and true method that AGM McLovin has experience winning in, with his S70 and S88 Gold Medal wins as examples. What happens on draft day, of course, is anybody's guess, but expect the Aces to be VERY active this offseason. And that's the news. You know, in the VHLM, sometimes you have to just roll with the punches. Here's Cole Porter reminding us that here, Anything Goes.
  3. I'm absolutely loving this collab we're doing on this! Also if anybody has any specific requests for players/teams when we start tackling this more, do let us know and we'll get on it! Likely what we'll do is start making players either immediately after jerseys & arenas are taken care of, based off the post TDL S89 rosters, or preseason S90 rosters, whichever is readily available by that time.

That’ll do it for this presentation of the VSN’s coverage of the S89 VHLM All Star Skills Competition. I'm Marcus Svedberg, wishing you all a good night!
  6. Live from Juan Ceson Arena, this is Radio Las Vegas, with your host, Marcus Svedberg! You're all so great, we're gonna keep you listening all day. Tonights episode of Radio Las Vegas is covering the rise of waiver claim LW Stinky @taylorherd, who has emerged as a star player on an otherwise lowly and struggling Las Vegas Aces team. Stinky has been an offensive threat since her introduction into the league, having put up strong numbers with very little star power support to amplify her numbers. In the 31 contests she's played thus far, she's had a strong showing, bringing 11 goals and 13 assists for a total of 24 points. More advanced stats also prove that Stinky is a strong player with a lot of potential in the makings, with 100 shots exactly on goal, 49 hits and only 12 pims. As a consistently growing and evolving player, Stinky is making a name for herself as a top pick for the S90 VHLM Draft. Having declared to the management of Las Vegas that she intends to come back and play for them for the S90 regular season, we'll see if the Aces are able to pick her up in the off season and give her the opportunity required to play at her highest potential. It's nice to talk about a shining light in an otherwise dark season for the Aces, isn't it? The news has been brought to you by the Vikki and Vance Casino. Vikki and Vance. Be our partner in crime. I'd like to play something special for you right now. Because you deserve it.

Doesn't even have to be hockey either!

  10. TRADE DEADLINE EDITION PRESSER! This week ending 7/16/23! Answer all 6 for 2 capped TPE! 1) The trade deadline is upon us! What's your favorite part about this exciting time of the season? 2) On the topic of the deadline, Jeid Rohnson and Maxim Anisimov were traded. How do their departures affect the Aces? 3) In the same trade, we got back Quinndillus Whopper and a third round pick. What are your thoughts on the return the Aces got? 4) What teams are you expecting to make the biggest splashes at the deadline today? 5) How're you feeling about the Aces chances at the playoffs? 6) What's your favorite hobby besides hockey?
  11. Live from Juan Ceson Arena, this is Radio Las Vegas, with your host, Marcus Svedberg! The Las Vegas Aces have stumbled into the trade deadline this year, and after many high expectations, it's even more disappointing to bring you the news I bare today. It's with a heavy heart I announce to you that Captain Maxim Anisimov and Jeid Rohnson have been traded to the Halifax 21st, in exchange for Quinndillus Whopper and a S91 HFX 3rd Round pick. This coming not so shortly after the Aces six game winning streak came crashing down around them, as they have lost 5 of their last 6 following the win streak. With this in mind, and the future to be considered, GM @Blazzer made the tough decision to ship off career Aces off for future assets to help with the now all but guaranteed rebuild. What this brings for the team is yet to be seen, but if the Aces are dedicating to a rebuild, then expect more losses in the coming days and weeks. It's gonna be tough on the Sin City, but the pay off will be worth it, I can promise you that. While this isn't the season many fans were expecting, it's even harder to accept that it needs to get worse before it gets better. As the trade deadline is today, expect teams to be ringing up Las Vegas Managements phones, with potentially more players on exodus in the coming hours. With this though does shed a glimmer of hope. In addition to more losses now expected for the Aces, their position in the standings will drop, and they'll likely be able to get higher picks in the draft to bring on more hope for the team. To guess what management has in store with this picks is impossible to predict, but for now, it's a dark day in Las Vegas. We'll have more news for you at the top of the hour. Today's headlines were brought to you by KGW, "Play Like You!" @Triller. And now Nat King Cole, reminding us what really matters with "Love Me As Though There Were No Tomorrow."

    The rebuild begins
  13. I wanna pitch in cause being directly involved with what's already being brought up, I feel I have a strong say in this This whole new job being proposed is pretty much null if VHLM GM's just get more involved in developing the players they have. It has been and likely will be exactly that too, the VHLM GM's have a responsibility to help guide these new players to being successful in the league as a whole, and if they are incapable of doing that then they're failing at their job. The M is a development league first and foremost, and it falls solely on the managers of the teams to grow players and guide them. Making a whole new job because the GM's & AGM's of the M don't want to do their job is a rather nuclear option, and is quite easily solved by encouraging them to do exactly that, or getting people into those positions that will. It's really that simple
  14. THEME WEEK: Commish for a Day: McAnisimov Edition If Maxim Anisimov was Commissioner for a day, obviously he'd be the VHLM Commissioner as that's the only VHL league he's ever played in. Now, as to what he'd do, well he has a couple of ideas 1. First thing he'd do is revoke Miami's ability to claim waivers cause they've CLAIMED EVERY PLAYER THAT'S APPEARED ON THE FREE AGENCY MARKET AND HE WANTS TEAMMATES TO PLAY WITH! I mean, uh, ahem. He would be neutral and fair as to who gets players in free agency and waiver claims. He'd have absolutely zero bias towards the Las Vegas Aces or affiliated programs or services. Uh yeah, totally. 2. He'd call his mates over from Ukraine to come play for the VHLM. He's noticed a sore lack of Ukrainian players appearing in Free Agency and he wants to be able to speak his native tongue with more people than his parents. Plus an influx of players into the league never hurts, and would make the seasons very competitive and difficult to understand for all these North Americans he's playing against 3. HE'D REINSTATE JUAN CESON @dylanjj37 AS PERMANENT CAPTAIN AND FOREVER ROSTERED PLAYER IN THE ACES. JUAN CESON OWNS THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS AND ALL AFFILATED PROGRAMS AND SERVICES AND DID NOT DESERVE TO BE DESTROYED SO MERCILESSLY AT THE HANDS OF THE FORMER COMMISSIONER. *cough cough* I mean he'd maintain the ruleset enforced by former Commissioners and ensure fair and competitive play across the league. Absolutely zero corruption going on here! He has nothing but the best intentions for everyone *except miami who keeps STEALING ALL THE PLAYERS* *cough cough* Man, I have something in my throat or some. Uhh anyways, moving on! 4. HE WOULD REMOVE THE SKILL CAP OF THE LEAGUE AND ALLOW CHAOS TO ENSUE. MADNESS AS VHL CALIBER ALL-STARS ABSOLUTELY DECIMATE THE NEW WAIVER AND FREE AGENTS OF THE LEAGUE. A TRUE AGENT OF CHAOS! NO LONGER SHALL VHLE FRINGE PLAYERS BE THE END OF SKILL, FOR EVERY AND ALL PLAYERS SHALL PLAY IN ONE LEAGUE, DOMINATED BY THE INFLUENCE OF THE GREAT MAXIM ANISIMOV. Or at least raise it a bit to allow a wider range of player types and skillsets to amplify the leagues diverse abilities. I don't know who said to remove the cap, that's just absurd. Las Vegas would win every Founder's Cup moving forward if THAT were the case! 5. Finally, he would allow Maxim Anisimov to play for the Aces forever. He loves that team, it's the team that picked him up from the streets of a small Ukrainian village and gave him a chance to become a star at a pro level. He's earning more money in one season than he's seen in his entire life and he owes everything he's achieved so far to the management of Las Vegas for giving him this opportunity. THEN HE WOULD TAKE OVER AS GENERAL MANAGER AND FINALLY ACHIEVE HIS TRUE GOAL OF OWNING ALL OF LAS VEGAS. NO LONGER SHALL @Blazzer OR JUAN PULL THE STRINGS, AS MAXIM WOULD BE PULLING THEIR STRINGS. WORLD DOMINATION FOLLOWS! It's just food for thought, though. For now, he's more than happy with just playing for the Aces, and he's gonna probably stay as just that *for now* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  15. Live from Juan Ceson Arena, this is Radio Las Vegas, with your host, Marcus Svedberg! All the latest news, coming your way right now. The Las Vegas Aces are on a roll! Recent changes in the lineup and on ice strategy have proven to have paid off in spades, (pun instead), as the Aces find themselves on a four game winning streak, their largest of the season thus far. The rejuvenated offense have been putting up strong numbers, and with this newfound confidence, the team has found itself in the upper half of the standings for the first time in S89. With the team seemingly finding its stride, the defense has been bolstered further with the addition of Jean-Marc Lemieux @Gorth, and Left Winger Stinky @taylorherd being brought in to replace Barbaslov in the wings. The question remains, however; Does this mean the Aces have what it takes to make a deep push into the playoffs this season? With Jeffrey Blake @ElementStyx9 having to bail the team out in most games he plays in, and the team historically being back and forth on success and failure, does this winning streak mean the team has turned a new corner? Or is it an anomaly in the standings that'll be soon corrected? Time will tell in that regard, but as for Radio Las Vegas, we love to see the boys finally stringing some wins together. That's all I have for you. This is Marcus Svedberg, wishing you ladylike luck tonight. Have you ever been in love with a celebrity? You don't have to be shy, I feel it between us, too. Sometimes you can't help being Mad About the Boy.
  16. ANOTHER PRESSER AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! This week ending 7/9/23! Answer all 6 for 2 capped TPE! 1) We're on a four game winning streak! What do you have to do to maintain this momentum? 2) Shaun Youngca retired and Barbaslov was released this week. What do their losses mean for the team moving forward? 3) In addition to that, Jean-Marc Lemieux & Stinky were brought in from waivers! How do you think they'll do on the team? 4) We're approaching the halfway mark on the season. Are you happy with your production? 5) Are you a fan of Radio Las Vegas, the greatest Las Vegas Aces affiliated program on the air? 6) How do you plan on spending your 4th of July holiday?
