  1. It was very sad to see Cole leave. He was a good teammate and a valued friend. I wish him all the best as he continues forward. That being said, excited to work with another goalie and continue to win some games. Try fiber one for breakfast in the morning, not only will it keep you regular, but it also tastes real good. The lines seem to be rolling well. As we get back into a groove, I don't think many teams will be able to touch us. Look good, feel good, play good. Ryo always has the slickest lettuce on his head, and shows up in some very fashionable suits. The numbers have to agree with him out of honor. First, everyday I wake up and convince myself that if I don't play well today, I am off the team. Then, I sit in the upper bowl before games to visualize the games. Next, I have a room with thousands of hockey cards taped to the walls and I sit in there and meditate for at least 3 hours a day. If I still feel unfocused, I will sleep in full gear. That normally works, but if all else fails, I drink 5 5-hour energies for 25 continuous hours of energy and use the extra hour in the day to review game film. I always stuck out a bit because of my height. It has been crazy living in Minnesota where professional hockey players are practically worshiped. I go out of my way to interact with fans, they make the game worth playing. It's sometimes difficult to go out to clubs with friends, because I get recognized. It's not as bad as the star players get it, but I am super approachable and some people overstay their welcome and test my squad's patience. I wouldn't trade it for the world though, because for every one of those minor inconveniences, there are 3-4 situations where you make a young fan's day and that smile makes it all worth while.
  2. My expectations are the same every season, win the whole thing. At this halfway point, my expectations are the same, but I am more committed to realizing this goal than ever before. A case can be made for nearly any player. So many players that aren't as flashy, force turnovers and lead by example. For my money though, Cole was playing out of his mind at the start of the season, and is still playing incredible. I broke my hand in a fight last season, and it's sticking around. Additionally, I took a stick to the groin in the last community night and had to have that looked at. I really enjoy shootout drills and 3 on 3 drills. They give our players an opportunity to be creative, and help us play fast hockey. Easy, puttin on some foil. Give me an edge in my fights. On a lighter side, attach bottles to the side of my helmet with a straw to my mouth, gotta stay hydrated out there. My favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs, but a perfect meal depends on the people. Either a meal with my sister, or a few years down the line with my wife and kids, should I be so lucky.
  3. Every loss stings, this one felt like a hive was dropped on our heads. We felt invincible going into that game, and were served a piece of humble pie. On the bright side, the monkey is off our backs. Instead of worrying about a streak, we can focus on playing our game. We have an outstanding team, I have no doubt the losses will be far and few between from here on out. This defensive display has been impressive. It all starts with Cole in net putting up an All-Star season, and our defense helping him out. The forwards are playing two-way hockey. It has been a team effort, but man these defensive pairings and Cole have been outstanding. Guess I don't qualify as a "new guy" anymore, haha. Any trade that makes the team better is a good trade, and Rayzor has hit it out of the park. I don't know how you take a team that is defeating everyone and make them better, but man he figured it out. Lot of magic behind the scenes. It has been super easy to integrate into the team, everyone is super approachable and driven. Everyone is focused on being the best player possible, and it is game changing to be in a locker room where everyone is so like minded and open. They're making us forwards look bad! Kidding of course, these guys are amazing. They step on nights when scoring is low and bounces aren't going our way. They make all of us play play harder and remind us that defensemen can score just as much as forwards should be backchecking. To start off, Cole is a hell of a player and a great guy. Of course, you can't talk about the shutouts without acknowledging our defense, playing great two-way hockey. Additionally, our defensive coach has been on top of making sure we stay a step ahead of our opponents.
  4. No particular positions: Jake Chillenhaal Thaddeus Fenix G - Deryk Saskamoose
  5. I haven't really interacted much with players around the league. Some of the other GM's reached out at the beginning of the season, and I suppose I hold those in a little higher regard. We have a lot of very skilled players in our locker room. I feel like any of them will succeed in the VHL. I can't really pick anyone in particular because we have some real all stars and some on their way to being at their level. If you have met Hulk, then you understand. The man is determined. He has a great game sense, and isn't selfish at all. I'd like to think that I have helped out a bit, but all four of those players would excel with anyone supporting them. That being said, it's a team sport and their success is our success. I'm happy with where I am at. I got off to a really slow start to the season, but kicked it into gear as of late. There is still work to be done, and I am constantly putting in work to try and help the team. San Diego is right on the heels of the big 3. Every team is scary, and the league has never looked so competitive. It will be interesting to see who remains consistent through the playoffs.
  6. Chett Bandy Sits Down with Tobias Magnus Tobias Magnus “Hey Chett, thanks for taking the time to sit down with me.” Chett Bandy “Thanks for having me Tobias. Great to be here, big fan of the show.” Tobias Magnus “Great to hear. So, you guys got off to a very slow start this year, but have ramped it up as of late. What prompted this reversal?” Chett Bandy “I was a bit worried there at the start, but we pulled it together as of late. Some great signings helped. Also, Coach told us that if we focused on our game, the wins would come, and some of our bigger names stepped up and led by example.” Tobias Magnus “Glad you guys figured it out, switching to you. You have 6 points in 13 games, how do you feel about your production?” Chett Bandy “I am certainly proud of what I have done, but I can and will do better.” Tobias Magnus “6 points is respectable, given that you have 26 hits and only 2 penalty minutes. How are you managing to stay out of the box?” Chett Bandy “Mostly just focus on making every hit clean. What the refs don’t see, can’t hurt them, those corners get nasty.” Tobias Magnus “How does this league compare to your past experiences?” Chett Bandy “Well the refs are a little more lenient, fighting is allowed, and I don’t have to wear a chicken cage anymore.” Tobias Magnus “What’s it like being in Canada?” Chett Bandy “It’s a little colder than I’m used to. OH! I learned the other week, that in addition to being a great hockey player, when people talk Timmy Horton, he’s also a restaurant. “ Tobias Magnus “You might be the only person that didn’t know it was a restaurant.” Chett Bandy “We don’t have those down where I’m from!” Tobias Magnus “How is Mississauga treating you?” Chett Bandy “Fans have been great and very supportive. Tinder’s been a bit dry though haha. Had to learn a little French to read the bios. What’s the secret Tobias?” Tobias Magnus “I wouldn’t know, happily married. How’s the chemistry in the locker room?” Chett Bandy “Everyone gets along great, lot of bonding on and off the ice. Lots of respect in that room, and some really talented players.” Tobias Magnus “So Chett, what is something that very few people know about you?” Chett Bandy “Well not many people know this, but I am an ordained minister.” Tobias Magnus “What? Really? Chett Bandy “Yeah, uh I am. I was out with the boys in college, had a few too many and woke up the next day with the certificate.” Tobias Magnus “Wow. How many weddings have you had?” Chett Bandy “Never been married Tobias.” Tobias Magnus “Riiiiiiiight. Moving on then, I heard a rumor that you are living with Scott Greene this season.” Chett Bandy “Yeah, Scott’s been great. I live in his basement. It leaks a lot, but when it gets cold the ground freezes and I can practice. Scott’s probably going to kick me out at some point, I keep intercepting his pizzas as he gets them delivered. I don't think he knows, he keeps calling them to ask where his pizza is.” Tobias Magnus “Sounds like you are fitting in great here in Mississauga. Thanks for taking the time to sit down with me.” Chett Bandy “No problem, thanks for having me Tobias…Big fan.”
