Hello Everyone, I am the HockeyDude, just like the HockeyGuy on YouTube except I do the VHL and will probably only do this once as I am lazy and there are too many games to keep up with On day 1 we experienced 17 games of the crazy VHL Schedule which saw all 16 teams play between 1-3 games so without further ado let us get right into the games For the season opener, we saw two powerhouses of the NA VHL go head to head the Seattle Bears take on the Vancouver Wolves. Game 1: Seattle Bears vs. Vancouver Wolves After Vancouver opened the scoring with a shot from Riley Martin past the glove of Giorgiy Costanzov the Bears quickly retaliated with a goal of their own from Justin Williams only 54 seconds later and it was only 41 seconds after that when Logan Ninefingers scored again taking the Wolves to the lead for the second time in this match. The game clock was only at 4.36 and the score was currently 2-1. Maybe what the commissioners had hoped by cracking down on Goalies save percentages by reducing the pad and glove size, had gone too far and goals were going to be scored left and right all season. The rest of the period would see both teams go on the PP twice however the score would not change and we went into the sheds with a score of 2-1 with the shots being 15-12 to the Wolves. The second period started off quickly with Henry Eagles going to the box 16 seconds into the period however it wouldn't be until the 9th penalty of the game where a team had finally scored on the Powerplay, this was from the stick of Oreo McFleury assisted by Williams and Dew for the bears as all three skaters notched up their 2nd point of the evening. Henry Eagles would also book end the period with a goal at 18.45 the last action of the period. The second intermission would start with the Bears leading the Wolves 3-2 even though they were outshot 13-20 in the period. The Bears came out all guns blazing in the third period scoring two goals within 7 minutes to take the lead to 5-2 with St-Louis and Eagles potting a goal and Targaryen assisting on both to take their point total for the night up to three. The Wolves countered after the Bears iced the puck with a goal at 10.07 and then another 28 seconds later. These goals were scored by Abass Jr and Left Alone, it was not enough unfortunately for the Wolves as they were bested by the Bears 5-4 with the final shots being 44-47 in favour of the Wolves. Giorgiy Costanzov earned the win with the Bears with a save percentage of .915 with the loss going to Dalkr Vidarsson with a save percentage of .886 both seeing the full 60 minutes of game time, the wolves struggled to hold possession at the end of the game long enough for Vidarsson to be pulled and to give the Wolves the man advantage. The three stars of the game according to the VHL were Henry Eagles with 2-1-3, Severus Targaryen 0-3-3 and Riley Martin for Van with 1-1-2 I think they all performed well however Justin Williams with their 1-1-2 I think might have been overlooked for the Third star. Stayed tuned for when I look into the next game that was played. Players Mentioned @Spade18, @Banackock, @Greg_Di, @JB123, @sadie, @JCV, @Mongoose87, @Smarch, @Scurvy, @KaleebtheMighty, @RileyL, @okochastar

So with the news that just came out I would like to explain why I think I would be a good VHLM commissioner. 1. I have been a VHLM GM and VHLM AGM for a total of about 7 seasons which isn’t long but I definitely have an understanding on how the league works and what is good for the league and what doesn’t work well. 2. I have GM’d in two completely different eras once back in the early 70’s and recently in the late 80’s early 90’s. This gives me a good understanding on how the league has worked in the past under different leadership and how it has worked now. 3. I have been voted as one of the best people in the VHL to work with and therefore the remaining commissioner will be able to work with me and we will be able to get along well. 4. I live in Australia, this means that more timezones are covered and the VHL should always have a commissioner that is active and available to settle any disputes or issues that arise. 5. I am a smart and all around likeable guy So thank you all for reading my public application have a good day

What is your cardio for today/tomorrow I will check in on you!

Some of these things exist and are in the forums for you to find for example here is Seattle Bears information

1. I would be okay with it but I find the issue is that we do multiple games in one day so if an injury happened you can't really sub anyone in and out. Would love to see retired goalies hit with 75% depreciation and become EBUGs though 2. I would love to get better at conversation, like the people who can go out and talk to anyone and it not be awkward would love to be like that 3. Adam Spencer's Big Book of Numbers it is a weird comedy math book, I am a math nerd though Q1 - What is something the VHL could do without Q2 - What is a job you would add to the VHL Q3 - What is a must watch show/documentary/movie you don't think most people know about

With 1 kid I can only imagine how much harder it would be with two. 10 lbs is a great improvement, personally I think the clothes fitting is much better indicator than the number on the scale. My Gym I use to be at offered a free PT once a month and that was great for learning form and free weights, I do a gym now that is all classes and that is also a great way. If these are free/affordable options for you I would highly recommend to build your confidence. I feel like I would never use a home gym haha, 4-5 days a week is impressive though well done.

So we are in this forum chatting most days, is anyone else on the Gym kick at the moment? If so lets share goals and what we want to achieve and try and keep each other accountable for the ones that struggle with motivation/dedication! I have been really focusing on weight lose since the start of Feb and I am down 8kgs been focusing hard on calorie counting (well Kilojoules but lets not get into that debate) and trying to get to gym at least 3x per week. What are your goals and how can we help?

3.5 year post coming soon?

@Mysterious_Fish how did you go with all of these?

Greek sounds good incoming Swolestav I picked you more of a Gin and Tonic man but I guess you are an engineer. Or is that just an Australian thing that all engineers are just massive beer drinkers To answer Bana's question Son didn't sleep well last night so went into the office early big day of work then trying to get to gym tonight

Berocka in a nutshell, if people think I'm serious most of the time I mustn't be making my sarcasm heard

That is such a boring take and is no fun to write about

Things that we could remove from the VHL and it would have practically no impact on the way the site works. · Practice Facility On No, you mean I receive one less TPE every week what ever will I do. The practice facility I believe in purpose was meant to be that if someone logs in every week they get a bonus but seriously isn’t that now just TPE tasks. You can’t back claim and if you can’t do anything that week anyway you click the welfare button. · Extra TPE for a 5 minute podcast A vhl.com podcast is one of the easiest tpe claims you can do and you get a cool 3 TPE, not only does this mean you get a mulligan on trivia but you get 50% more reward for rambling for 5 minutes than you get for typing 200 words · Career point tasks Another whooping 28 TPE for completing dedicated point tasks that no one reads, could be a media spot if you post them at any time though · VSN Talking about things that could be a media spot the VSN does anyone read anything they put out apart from the draft predictions and the award shows?

1. Love going for a bike ride 2. Nahh only chipped a tooth 3. I guess the colour would be grey, that includes everything from black to white I think Q1) Who was the biggest steal of the VHL draft just gone Q2) Would you be more interested in a golf sim over the off season than watching the World Cup sims Q3) What NHL market do you think that the VHL should expand to

You changed one thing on the list I asked for

Why are Career point tasks have such weird timings on when you can complete them, I understand sort of that you want players to have to spread out your TPE earning so they can’t all be claimed at once. However, how it is currently structured you can complete 4/5 in your VHLE season. Let us have a look at all this together and see if we can come up with a better way of making this happen. Currently the tasks are as follows Prospect Scouting Report - Short review of VHLM career, focus on pros/cons, or other method of scouting report. Complete before your first VHL game. Hello Europe - Your player has made the jump to our European league. Talk about your expectations and areas for growth. Complete during your VHLE Rookie Season. Rookie Experience - Talk about graduating to the VHL, expectations, reservations, etc. Complete between a player's VHL draft and the end of that player's first season in the VHL. Career Reflection - Discuss how your player has fared in the VHL so far, and what you hope to accomplish over your final seasons. Complete in your 4th season or later. Biography - Earn up to 8 uncapped TPE once per career. Complete anytime. So, there is a total of 28 TPE that you can earn through the career point tasks you can achieve 23/28 in your VHLE season, as you meet the requirements of the Prospect Scouting report, you meet the requirements of Hello Europe and Rookie Experience. As well as being able to complete the Biography at any time so with all this added in you can achieve 23 uncapped TPE in any week you want during your VHLE season. So, this goes back to my original question, why are there weird time frames on when you can complete the career point tasks. Now that I have raised an issue let us see if we can come up with a reasonable solution. Firstly, I think that the whole point of career point tasks are a bit silly, when you can complete any of this as a media spot at any time it is weird that you have another subforum where no one goes to talk about your player more. When I have a look at the subforums for the career point tasks I found one point task that had more than a couple of replies excluding any locked topics. When you compare this to media spots it appears to have about half the number of replies. I honestly don’t see the point of having career point tasks apart from it is unfair to the newer players they don’t get to do them. How I would structure the career point tasks. 1. Scouting Report/Draft Day Analysis If you complete this task before you get drafted to a VHL team you write the normal prospect scouting report, if you complete this after draft day you need to dissect the draft you were in, did you go where expected was there any other interest in you etc. 2. VHLM Experience What were some of the Pros/Cons of your time in the VHLM, what were your stat lines like where did you succeed where did you fail. What would you change etc. Can be completed once you do a season in the appropriate league. 3. VHLE Experience Same as above just about the VHLE 4. Career recap Can be completed in your final two seasons 5. Biography This goes unchanged What do you think about my changes is it better off or does it make it worse, essentially I am pushing everything back until you have actually completed the seasons in the retrospective leagues. As well as not putting an end date on any of the TPE so you can complete it at any time.
